The weekly table discussion on PBS NewsHour between Washington Post Associate Editor Jonathan Capehart and New York Times columnist David Brooks spent some time on Friday discussing President Biden’s upcoming re-election campaign. Ignoring all the week’s developments surrounding Hunter, Brooks claimed Biden’s in a good spot, “There hasn't been any obvious gaffes, big scandals or anything like that.” Guest host Geoff Bennett also thought Biden is well positioned for 2024, “President Biden's allies say the fact that he's facing only token primary opposition from author Marianne Williamson and anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. really is a show of strength for him.”

Ray Epps, the man accused by many of being involved with federal law enforcement during the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, said over the weekend that Fox News host Tucker Carlson was “obsessed” with him and trying to ruin his life.
Epps made the remarks in an interview that aired Sunday night on CBS News’ “60 Minutes.”“Brings back some bad memories,” Epps said when asked what he thinks when he looks at video of the riot. “It’s hard to see our Capitol under attack.”
The show then highlighted how conservative media and Republican lawmakers have called into question Epps’ role in the riot.
A “60 Minutes” interview with Ray Epps aired Sunday night, prompting backlash from GOP Republicans and conservatives across social media.
In his interview, Epps, who is believed by many to be guilty of orchestrating the events of the Jan. 6 protest, said it was “stupid” of him to encourage Trump supporters to go into the Capitol.“I said some stupid things. My thought process: we surround the Capitol, we get all the people there. I mean, I had problems with the election. It was my duty as an American to peacefully protest, along with anyone else that wanted to.”

WASHINGTON—President Joe Biden is expected to tap Julie Rodriguez, a senior White House adviser, to manage his reelection campaign, a person familiar with deliberations on the matter said Sunday.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because Rodriguez’s appointment has not been finalized and Biden has yet to formally launch his reelection campaign. CBS News was first to report that Biden has decided to pick Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, a longtime Democratic party activist, also worked in former President Barack Obama’s White House. She’s the granddaughter of labor leader Cesar Chavez and labor activist Helen Fabela Chávez.

If I were still teaching at Harvard Business School, I’d already be putting together material for a case study on the Bud Light marketing disaster, and I am reasonably sure that I would have plenty of company at HBS and elsewhere. The fiasco is already of historic proportions, joining New Coke as an example of failing to understand the customers of a brand.

I’m not sure why it’s happening -- perhaps it’s a backlash from the most obnoxious of the feminists and their conduct or the widespread denigration of and discrimination against white heterosexual men, but there’s no doubt in my mind that there’s a concerted attack by the culture warriors to erase women, denigrate them, and allow them only symbolic powers -- like choosing the moronic Kamala Harris as vice president instead of someone with a demonstrated and earned record of competence. How long has it been since we’ve seen women we looked up to, like Golda Meier and Maggie Thatcher, wielding political power?

For too long, too many pundits have thought it was their place to tell you what to think and what to do, and you are as sick of it as I am. So, you can agree with me, partially agree with me, or totally disagree with me when I tell you what I think. But you need to make up your own mind about who to support in 2024.
