However, the court proceedings in the wake of ostensible felony leaks to the press about the sealed indictment did produce a curiosity: How was radical activist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg able to elevate charges that are misdemeanors past the statute of limitations and stack them into 34 felony charges, when the facts of the case did not show there was a cover up a more serious crime?

I ask the question — who are some of these clearly unwell, socially maladapted and homicidally angry trans activists? My field of study in graduate school was communism. As a fellow at the Russian Institute of Columbia’s School of International Affairs, I was, if I remember correctly, one of seven students in the entire university to major in what was known at the time as “Communist Affairs.”
I cite this in order to make this point: In my wildest dreams, I never imagined what I was studying would ever apply to the United States of America, the freest country in world history.
I assumed that communism was, for various reasons, something that happened elsewhere — most obviously, Russia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Cambodia and North Korea.

New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan rejected a request by several media organizations, including CNN, for permission to broadcast the historic proceedings.
Five still photographers will be allowed to take pictures of Trump and the courtroom before the hearing begins, however. Trump’s arraignment – like most arraignments in the Manhattan courthouse – is a public proceeding, but news cameras are not usually allowed to broadcast from inside the courtroom.

The Nashville Covenant School shooting is still a painfully fresh wound for many, especially the families of the three children whose lives were senselessly taken by a woman identifying as a transgender man. The manifesto of the shooter has yet to be released so it’s currently unclear why this woman targeted this school specifically, but for the Covenant Presbyterian Church, to which the school belongs, this atrocity isn’t deterring faith.
Rev. Billy Barnes took the stage at the church for the first sermon after the shooting took place and began speaking. While he alluded to the shooting, his focus was on one fact; that God was still in control.

Their ability to enter the legislative facilities was restricted in a separate action.
The 28-year-old who killed three children and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville last week fired 152 rounds, Nashville police said Monday, adding that while they have yet to determine a motive, the shooter planned the attack "over a period of months" and studied other mass murderers.
The shooter, identified as former student Audrey Hale, "acted totally alone," Metro Nashville Police said in the Monday update. It was reported last week that Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, was seeking murder charges against Moussa Diarra, a parking garage attendant in Manhattan who had shot a thief in an act of self-defense. However, Bragg has since changed his stance and will no longer pursue charges against Diarra. The original charges stemmed from an incident in the garage where Diarra worked on West 31st Street, where he encountered a thief peering into cars. Diarra suspected the man of stealing and asked him to reveal the contents of his bag. However, the thief had a gun, and when Diarra tried to grab it, the gun went off, injuring
