President Joe Biden issued the first veto of his presidency on Monday – stopping a Republican-led bill that would overturn his administration's rule letting retirement account planners take 'environmental, social and governance,' referred to ESG factors into account. Because climate change, social impacts and ongoing lawsuits have significant financial repercussions, administration officials argue that the investment limits are courting possible disaster. Republicans in Congress who pushed to overturn the Labor Department's actions say ESG investments provide sizable funding to 'woke' political agendas, such as a drive against climate change, rather than on earning the best returns for savers.

Oh come on now, Biden doesn't have a clue what he's signing. "They" tell him what and where to sign and he does it. That's all he's good for. An Audio-Animatronic character of Biden would work just as well.

Once again the Democrats taking advantage of the ill-informed (the primary characteristic of their base). YOU can self direct your contributions in your retirement plan (if it is a decent plan it will have available funds that are not ESG centered, if it does not remove every 6 months your contributions and put into an IRA that does). Most people do not pay attention the what funds are in their 401k or IRAs and it is these people who will be donating their contributions to the ESG scam artists.

Gaslighting weasels. Putting socio-political considerations ahead of financial ones is what puts income from investments at risk. Their sacred ESG is a cover for Leftist welfare mentality, not capital profitability. In this grand BS parade, the Daily Whale is teaming up with American Pravda to commit an allied assault on reason and truth.

Last week, the Supreme Court decided not to weigh in on Title 42 , an immigration policy put in place by the Trump administration. That policy, just recently ended by President Joe Biden, let officials override rules allowing illegal immigrants to ask for asylum. Under Title 42, immigration officers could quickly return such persons across the border rather than holding them in the U.S. while the asylum application process played out. Not so long ago, America had a great economy, the lowest unemployment ever for a range of demographic groups, energy independence, an increasingly secure southern border, a strong international profile, and no new wars. It had freedom. It had national pride. And all because it had a highly skilled president of unabashed patriotism who was devoted to the best interests of his people. Ron DeSantis appeared to compare his own military service to Donald Trump's draft-dodging when asked how he'd cope with insults hurled by the former president. Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday night, the Florida governor said such jibes would pale in comparison to the hardships experienced by service personnel - with the lawmaker himself once serving as a Navy lawyer. Trump, by comparison, dodged being drafted into the Vietnam War by claiming he suffered from bone spurs, with DeSantis seemingly keen to highlight the ex-president's much-mocked excuse.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is reportedly considering appointing Oprah Winfrey to the Senate should Dianne Feinstein retire early. Newsom has promised to appoint a black woman to the seat, and Oprah is one among a list of contenders he's considering, according to the Associated Press. Appointing Winfrey would spare Newsom from tipping the scales in California's contentious primary race in 2024. In that case, the celebrity talk show host would serve as a place holder who would not pursue the seat for a full six-year term. Newsom's office could not be reached for comment on the matter.
