NEW YORK— Vice President Kamala Harris, the first woman to deliver a commencement speech at West Point, lauded graduating cadets Saturday for their noble sacrifice in serving their country, but noted they were entering an “unsettled world” because of Russian aggression and the rising threats from China.
“The world has drastically changed,” Harris told the roughly 950 graduating cadets. She referred to the global pandemic that took millions of lives and the fraught shifts in global politics in Europe and in Asia.
“It is clear you graduate into an increasingly unsettled world where long-standing principles are at risk,” she said.

In 2016, seventeen candidates were vying for the Republican nomination for president. At the time, Donald Trump wasn’t given much of a chance in a field of heavy hitters like early front-runners Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham. But with a dozen or more serious candidates in the race, it became clear almost immediately that unless most of those candidates dropped out to allow one or two candidates to challenge Donald Trump, the real estate tycoon would win enough convention delegates to breeze through to a victory.

Convicted felons in Michigan, including most murderers and sexual offenders, could have a better chance of returning to society if Democrats get their way.
A package of legislation introduced last week by Democrat state Rep. Kara Hope aims to amend Michigan’s penal code to allow nearly every criminal to petition for a reduced sentence after serving 10 years behind bars. Michigan Republicans, led by House Minority Leader Matt Hall, blasted the Democrat-sponsored legislation, arguing that it prioritizes criminals above victims.

A town hall meeting held by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Queens on Friday night descended into farce as the firebrand was called a 'piece of s*** and berated for her views on Ukraine, migrants, drag queen story hours and the debt ceiling.
The meeting was held in the Corona neighborhood, AOC's constituency. Her constituents were not in welcoming mood, especially when the town hall moved to to the question and answer stage.
'American citizens before migrants,' one heckler yelled. Others chanted: 'America first.' Another shouted: 'We are on the verge of nuclear war with Russia. Are you going to stop this war?' shouted another,

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has been quietly let go from her Warner Bros TV deal after producing no content.
Cullors, 39, signed the deal with the media giant in 2020 to much fanfare but it ended in secret in October 2022, it emerged on Friday.
'The deal, unfortunately, did not result in any produced shows,' a source told the New York Post. Cullors claimed in January 2022 that she was working on a documentary about how reparations were similar to the idea of landback, where Native Americans got back their lands, and another about black social mobility.
