During an exclusive sit-down interview in Iowa with ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl, former Vice President Mike Pence said Saturday the possible arrest of former President Donald Trump would be "a politically charged prosecution." On his social media platform Saturday morning, Trump claimed that he would be arrested Tuesday in connection to the Manhattan district attorney's investigation into alleged hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election -- he also called for his supporters to protest. A Trump spokesperson appeared to walk back his comments in a statement, saying in part there's no notification that the "prosecutor in Manhattan has decided.

comrade bragg had better prosecute this case against our resident himself and not pass it down to an Assistant D.A. -this is his baby all the way and he'll have to do some serious legal case work to get a conviction because as is the usual mode of operation with the commies and demcommies, if you do something and ti bounces back into your/their face, you might as well head for Antarctica because that's the only place you'll be safe(maybe)

Every GOP candidate and potentials will say this same thing. It's good politics, and they have nothing to gain by saying otherwise. And every news headline that features the indictment and ARREST! will be met with a private smile. Even FPDT sees this as an advantage to himself. We'll see. I fully expect a series of indictments through '23 prospectively paving the way for Trump's eventual defeat in the primaries and caucuses.

It seems to me that the only person guilty of anything is Ms Daniels and her attempt to blackmail. I don't ever recall the person being blackmailed called the criminal. And this was a pathetic but successful attempt at extorting money. Rich men cannot be bothered with taking out the trash. Good old Stormy was going to cause trouble one way or another. Trump probably should have let her try to smear him. The results would have been the same except that maybe he would have won over some demcorat votes since doing porn stars would be a resume enhancer for them and no one on the right with a lick of common sense would believe a germaphoble like Trump would ever want to be in a room alone with that.

A coalition of midsize banks sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the FDIC), the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Reserve requesting that the FDIC insure all their deposits for the next two years, according to Bloomberg. The request comes amidst a banking crisis that started earlier this month with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and then Signature Bank. The group wrote: “Doing so [insuring all deposits] will immediately halt the exodus of deposits from smaller banks, stabilize the banking sector and greatly reduce chances of more bank failures,”

Last week, we learned that the Manhattan district attorney’s office was preparing to indict former President Donald Trump as early as next week. On Saturday, Trump responded to those reports, saying his potential arrest would occur on Tuesday. He also called for protests over the blatant abuse of the justice system that has been targeting him for years. Then, on Sunday, the potential indictment and arrest was put on hold, reportedly over a new surprise witness, though it was unclear whom that witness would be… until now. Trump posted on Truth Social that “the most important witness” will testify before the grand jury on Monday. According to Trump, the surprise

This was not the headline I expected to be writing on a Sunday in March, yet here we are. Polling in the 2024 GOP primary is still extremely premature, but a couple of trends have been emerging. At least until we get some other major names into the mix (assuming there are any on the way) the early competition is between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. But Trump has been holding a clear lead over the course of several consecutive polls now. At CNN this weekend, Harry Enten breaks down the two latest and comes up with a surprising (at least to me)

UBS agreed to buy its embattled rival Credit Suisse for 3 billion Swiss francs ($3.2 billion) Sunday, with Swiss regulators playing a key part in the deal as governments looked to stem a contagion threatening the global banking system. "With the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, a solution has been found to secure financial stability and protect the Swiss economy in this exceptional situation," read a statement from the Swiss National Bank, which noted the central bank worked with the Swiss government and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority to bring about the combination of the country's two largest banks.

There’s been a lot of reaction about the possible indictment of President Donald Trump, although his spokesperson says there has not been any formal notification of an arrest, and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office hasn’t formally commented on the matter. George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley wrote about a lot of problems in the alleged impending case against President Donald Trump including potential statute of limitations questions depending upon what is charged, that the feds refused to pursue this charge and the Manhattan DA seems to be trying to “effectively prosecute a federal case long ago rejected by the Justice Department.” He also pointed out how there was no push

My mom used a pressure cooker that was the terror of the household. It bounced around all over the counter and, unless the heat was applied and the pressure released with incredible care, it was like having a bomb in the kitchen. When I look at what the Democrats are doing in America, I am reminded of that pressure cooker. Their latest scheme is to Trump’s arrest even as they announce that they are doubling down on persecuting the almost entirely peaceful J6 protesters who unwittingly trespassed in the Capitol. The first action builds pressure; the second denies Americans their constitutional safety valve. I fear that this cannot end well.

As RedState reported, Donald Trump put a statement on Saturday morning confirming that his indictment and arrest are imminent. According to the former president, he’ll be taken into custody on Tuesday after the Manhattan District Attorney’s office charges him over a hush money payment made to Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election. The contention is that Trump broke the law by ordering Michael Cohen to make the payment, which was ultimately classified as a legal expense. New York prosecutors assert that election laws were broken because it was actually a campaign expense

Yesterday Joe Biden made the mistake of listening to a question from a reporter at the White House, and briefly trying to answer. I understand that the reporter was from another country; I don’t suppose a liberal American “reporter” would be so bold as to question Slow Joe on the subject of his China connections: Two points to note. First, even in this very brief clip, Biden’s mental and physical incapacity are on display. He may only be 80 years old, but he is an old 80. Second, Biden answers “It’s not true.” But it is true. A single Chinese entity paid Biden’s family well over $1 million.
