Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley have been attacked by a number of Trump loyalists for failing to comment on rumors the former president will be arrested on Tuesday. MAGA Republicans have criticized DeSantis and Haley for not speaking out against the Manhattan DA's office for what they claim is a weaponization of the justice system. DeSantis is widely rumored to be preparing to run against Trump for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Haley was the first to enter the race after Trump. Jason Miller, a Trump adviser and the former CEO of right-wing free speech app Gettr noted a 'radio silence' from the two since the rumors gained momentum early on Saturday.

Let's see...rumor of arrest apparently emanating from FPDT himself. Smells like a political trap...others to comment on rumors, show "support", perhaps look foolish if no arrest materializes. Some expect DeSantis to stop Trump from surrendering himself to NY authorities...in NYC. The drama is just what America needs. Hmmmm, this is looking very suspect.

What I would have liked to see from these two is a thorough condemnation of the kangaroo court tactics used for the purpose of hounding an innocent man since 2016. You don't have to agree with the rumors, but condemnation of these tactics is what is needed. Why on earth don't they get it that this lack of same is why the democrats feel embolden to continue?

First of all, what's outrageous and goes against every precept of a Constitutional Republic is the non-stop persecution of Donald Trump, from first Presidential run announcement to today, regardless of how often the storylines have been proved absurd, stupid, false. On the other hand, President Trump needs to stop burning bridges, and instead, build new ones --and rebuild the ones lost and worth restoring. I am tired and weary of the petty attacks, name-calling (never liked that, it just sounds puerile). I want him to remind the people of what his administration was able to accomplish despite the unjust and treacherous treatment he got and gets. The sad truth is, people forget, and an awful lot have been propagandized, lied to with sins of omission and commission. You have to repeat the facts and the truth again and again, and you can't rely on any MSM outlet media, journals, newspapers. Then, expose every lie of the Biden clan and political mobsters. AND, educate the people on what fascism really is, and what dictatorships are, what they do, and why they are always totalitarians. The people need to fully wake up. NOW. Not one minute to waste. Am i hopeful? ...ummmmm

The New York Times has taken note of Trump’s political maneuvering against DeSantis and has an article out for Monday’s paper cowritten by Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman (Donald Trump's go-to contact at the Times per Andrew McCarthy in an article posted earlier today on this site.) It’s probably one of the very few times you’ll find the Times quoting Jack Posobiec ("far right political activist"; "...taking receipts on everyone..." [I guess for Santa]); and "Gateway Pundit" ("a conspiratorial website with a large far-right following...".)

They’re being criticized “for failing to comment on rumors…”??? This is a feature, not a bug. There is a vicious cycle among activists, some political actors and social media to keep everyone perpetually riled up and racking up click counts. Rumors are floated, comments are made, comments are demanded, and this is then passed off as news. Unfortunately DJT plays in this space as well. If the DA actually moves on this, I’d expect DeSantis to comment forcefully on it, and if he doesn’t, shame on him. Haley? Who knows and who cares!

The decision whether to indict former President Donald Trump over hush-money payments made on his behalf during his 2016 presidential campaign lies in the hands of a Manhattan grand jury that has been hearing evidence in secret for weeks. An indictment of Trump, who is seeking the White House again in 2024, would be an unprecedented moment in American history, the first criminal case against a former U.S. president. Law enforcement officials are bracing for protests and the possibility of violence after Trump called on his supporters to protest ahead of a possible indictment. An indictment could also test a Republican Party already divided over whether to support Trump next year,

President Joe Biden issued the first veto of his presidency on Monday – stopping a Republican-led bill that would overturn his administration's rule letting retirement account planners take 'environmental, social and governance,' referred to ESG factors into account. Because climate change, social impacts and ongoing lawsuits have significant financial repercussions, administration officials argue that the investment limits are courting possible disaster. Republicans in Congress who pushed to overturn the Labor Department's actions say ESG investments provide sizable funding to 'woke' political agendas, such as a drive against climate change, rather than on earning the best returns for savers.
