An Ohio family have told of their troubling medical conditions which suddenly emerged after the February 3 train crash near their home, releasing clouds of toxic waste into the air and rivers.
Chris and Jamie Wallace, who live with their three-year-old daughter in East Palestine, said they were furious at being kept in the dark about the extent of the toxic spill. All three have now been diagnosed with respiratory infections.
'Nobody is saying what's wrong,' he told NewsNation.
'Everybody has rashes, respiratory infections.
'It's downright criminal.'

Wrong color, wrong gender, wrong state, conservative and probably normal. You know what they say about people being in the wrong place at the wrong time. If there is no problem than I would like to suggest that Pete Buttman bring his mate and their two children and stay there for a week or two. And if they have pets please bring them also. Make sure that there is a balcony where you can hang out and take in the fresh air. Take nice big breaths. Take a walk by the tracks, check out the situation and then let us know what just happened, why did it happen, and what are you going to do about it?

Not "toxic waste", it was toxic chemicals for manufacturing things like PVC pipe, used everywhere these days.
And....has no one had a respiratory infection in that state until now?
I am sure it is possible that there is some connection to these respiratory infections, but it would seem more likely that they would have had direct injury from the chemical.
We have been having Wuhan virus respiratory infections now as pretty common things for years.
DM is a tabloid scare rag. I'm sure this was a very bad event, but getting "news" from DM is mostly getting BS, hysteria and misinformation - often disinformation, too. Half or more of what DM prints about guns or military weapons is ignorant, uniformed, misinformed nonsense. Why would it be different about any other techinical topic like a chemical spill?
Bad? Very definitely. Should people have been evacuated? Yep, no doubt. Vinyl chloride is bad stuff, and I cringe a bit when I am at a railroad crossing and see tanker car after tanker car rolling by labeled "Vinyl chloride". Long ago I worked for several years in the chemical industry, and where I lived they made stuff like this in huge quantities, and shipped it out on rail cars. Generally, it's pretty safe - but occasionally there is an accident and bad stuff gets spilled. The alternative is to have no plastic pipe. PVC is the material for a huge portion of all the drain and low pressure water pipe used in this country. PVC means "poly vinyl chloride", which is vinyl chloride which has been polymerized into a solid.
DM is irritatingly hysterical, nearly always. They LOVE to have bad news.....even if they have to make it up.

As far as I know Mayor Petey has not set foot anywhere near the disaster site. Maybe he ran off to Portugal again with his 'partner'? The Biden administration has no use for these non-woke, blue collar towns.

# 2 is correct about DM being a sensationalist outlet - but at least they are talking about it. MSM was silent. I want people to know this happened.

Imagine if this derailment had occurred if a Republican was in the WH.

Remembering an incident from when I was a teenager.
Woke up one morning to a terrible smell in the air.
Caused a colossal headache.
Turned on the news (TV and/or radio) and discovered a train derailment.
IIRC, think it was diesel fuel about 2 miles from our home. Think it got into the local river.
No evacuation.
We decided to take it easy and stay in all day. It cleared up after 24 hours.
Haven't thought about it since then.
Agree this is over sensationalizing. Derailments happen worldwide. Get out if you must.

Our government’s response to this has been pathetic. And we all know why.

East Palestine is Ohio's Chernobyl. Brought to the citizens by the Norfolk Southern Rail Road derailment and the callous handling of the toxic chemicals by both Ohio and the US EPA. Open burn it they shouted, causing chemical clouds full of vinyl chloride, butyl acrylate, ethylhexyl acrylate, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, isobutylene. Phosphene Gas (WWI gas) was cast into the Ohio sky, floating into PA, WV, KY and the Ohio River, and other bodies of water therein. Both Dim Wit DeWine and his Ohio Fauci reported with glee that no chemical contamination resulted. People don't forget the 9/11 cleanup and the toll it took on the individuals performing the cleanup which is still happening some twenty years later. The town of East Palestine may become another Love Canal. Trust the Government the bureaucrats shout. Yeah right.

Is it news that a "couple" consisting of a male and a female (who even have children!) are married? Is that status so unusual these days that it is actually in the headline?
