Report: Biden Administration Allowing
Medicaid Funds to Pay for Groceries

President Joe Biden’s (D) administration is reportedly allowing states to use Medicaid for food and nutritional counseling, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Journal reported Sunday that policy makers are trying to determine whether “food as medicine” programs can enhance health and also save money, the outlet said: A growing body of research suggests that addressing food insecurity can improve health as well as deliver savings by reducing medical visits, the need for medication, or by helping control serious illness. The programs have also appealed to some GOP lawmakers who believe states should have more control over their Medicaid programs.

Medicaid is a welfare program based on the financial situation of the recipient. Social security is supposed to be for the elderly who paid into it but the reality is more than half the SS money goes to people who are well under retirement age and have never paid into the system. Food stamps/EBT(USDA), free cell phones(FCC), welfare housing(FHA)etc. I believe that all programs for the poor should be administrated by one agency. ONE! The multitude of programs are a burden to just about every agency in the federal government and results in confusion, mistakes, and fraud. Actually I think it may be hard to find a federal agency that does not have a program that is for the poor.

The stated poverty level in this country never includes the amount of money offered by these welfare programs nor do the income disparity reports.

This makes sense in a perverted sort of way. Healthy food does indeed take the place of many meds but somebody needs to advise the Walmart Water Buffalo that chips, candy, donuts, ice cream and coke are not in the basic food groups and actually create the need for all of the hypertension and cholesterol meds that their doctors tell them to take. If Walmart would remove those little dump trucks with the backup alarms that the beasties block the aisles with, they might have to walk around and get a little exercise to burn off some of the sugar.

Sorry #2 but SS benefits are based on your income earnings - not what you paid into it. What you pay into it is actually what is being used to pay out the benefits for retirees, etc. Of course, the expansion of SS from a retirement benefit into disability ruined the program. As for food insecurity - so ick of all the wailing about it and I refuse to support any local food bank, etc.

Why are Medicid cost soaring? Here is why. Medicaid is supposed to pay for medical benefits and medications. If they want food benefits, they can get food stamp benefits. There are so many programs that overlap and pay for the same things, it is no wonder there is a gigantic government deficit and nobody needs to work anymore. If you look deep enough, there is probably a program somewhere in some already existing program that also pays for rent and utilities. Many of todays "poor" are very well versed in the ABC's and ins and outs of every government program and how to exploit them to their advantage. Many "non-profit" and government agencies stay in business by helping these "poor" people stay poor by assisting them in obtaining any and every benefit available to justify their existence.

There’s a lot more to this story than just the uncovering of another Rachel Dolezal. This investigation is one Republicans tried to start in August 2021 while they were in the minority, but they say they didn't receive substantive responses. Now in the majority, House Republicans on the committee, led by Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, are giving the various agencies until March 3 to respond. Employees who score low on the key performance metrics often leave the company, sources told the paper. Zuckerberg will consider another round of layoffs if not enough depart, the people said. We are going to need a new industry that simply spends its time fact-checking the so-called “fact-checkers.” That’s the story after a new landmark study published in The Lancet offered vindication to everyone who touted natural immunity to COVID-19 as an alternative to vaccination. For years, the powers that be, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House, and the press, dismissed the idea of taking natural immunity into account when debating vaccine mandates and vaccine passports. They were wrong, so much so that even the mainstream media are having to admit it.

Forgive me for repeating myself — the Biden administration intended to let the Chinese spy balloon traverse the United States and surveil some of our most secure war-fighting facilities without obstruction or notice. It was only exposed to the public by the efforts of Chase Doak and the Billings Gazette as it crossed Montana. As we reacted with incredulity, the administration woke the president and shot the balloon down off the coast of South Carolina. Secretary of State Antony Blinken intended to meet with his Chinese counterpart that weekend, but was embarrassed into postponing the jamboree in Beijing.

A small number of intelligence officials under former President Trump were aware of several suspected Chinese balloons that crossed into U.S. airspace during his time in office, according to The Wall Street Journal. Despite suspicions among some officials that the high-flying objects were from China, a Pentagon assessment never conclusively linked the balloons to Beijing, and information on the incidents was not shared broadly within the Trump administration, the Journal noted. At least three suspected Chinese surveillance balloons briefly hovered over the U.S. during the Trump administration, in addition to one that occurred earlier in the Biden administration, a senior Pentagon official said earlier this month. On February 9, New Jersey Italian restaurant Nettie’s House of Spaghetti, despite having a name that makes it sound like a children’s restaurant, issued a statement across its social media accounts that beginning in early March, they would no longer allow children under 10 to dine at the restaurant. The announcement made headlines and points to the perennial debate over whether banning kids under a certain age from eating at restaurants is reasonable. This debate is, of course, not new. There will always be a steady stream of new children coming to restaurants with their parents, and some of those children will act in accordance with their developmental tendencies.
