Democrats are proposing giving federal workers an 8.7% pay increase for toiling through the Trump administration and the coronavirus pandemic.
The suggested pay increase for the 2 million federal workers would take effect in 2024, and would come after they received the 4.6% raise this year from President Biden.
“For years now, federal employees have risked their health and safety working on the frontlines of this pandemic,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) said in a press release announcing that he and Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) would reintroduce the Federal Adjustment of Income Rates, or FAIR Act.

Fat Gerry (unfortunately my Congressvermin) is just pandering to his constituents (us Federal workers). And he's got it all wrong - we didn't suffer, we actually did quite well under Trump. We all kept our jobs and got paid, and the economy was booming which meant our paychecks went further and our TSP accounts (think 401K) blossomed. It's under Old Demented Joe that everything has gone FUBAR. Vax mandates have threatened our jobs and the tanking economy has put a dent in our TSPs. I'll gladly exchange Crooked Joe for a second go with The Donald. That's not to say that I would reject an 8.7% salary raise. As I approach retirement, a bigger salary means a bigger pension for me. I'll gladly take it. Fat Gerry can pander to me all he wants. I'm still never going to vote for the scumball.

Federal workers earn about 20% more than the workers in the private sector that pay the federal workers' wages. Now they want more!

What a steaming pantload. The swamp should pay reparations to us for the stolen election in '20, and to Trump for stealing most of his first term in a relentless series of bogus 'impeachments' (more like fraudulent investigations pretending to seek grounds for impeachment).

I have friends (a married couple) who work for the Federal government. They weren't required to show up at the office for close to two years! One told me about taking a nap every afternoon while working from home. They even gave up their second car because they didn't need it. Just recently they were required to show up at the office one day a week. It has been a real hardship for them.....not.

Hmmmm, let's see, most of the 2 million fed workers are unionized. Pay increases so does union dues. Dues increases so does union donations to the Democrat Party. I see where this is going. That's another tax increase on the American People that will benefit the Rat Party at the expense of the working man/woman. It would also help the fed workers deal with the high inflation rate caused by Biden's lousy economic policies which started with cutting off domestic oil production on Day One, which in turn has spiraled out of control, along with spending trillions on nothing that benefits the American People. Yep, they always take care of themselves at our expense.

FAIR Act. That is hilarious. Let's cut pay by that much. 99% of the federal workforce would squeal like stuck pigs, but they would not quit.

And what about all of the non government employees that slogged through Covid like emergency workers, nurses, firefighters, truckers and other all other essential people?
Around where the government people live house prices and rents will go up, prices will go up and taxpayers will have to pay so they will demand more. Round and round. And they wonder why we have inflation?

Too bad, civil servants should be thinned out, not rewarded with a pay hike.

Federal employees have gotten pay hikes every year, including through the pandemic, all while private sector workers have gotten no pay increases. Government workers already make 1.5 times equivalent jobs pay in the private sector. No pay hikes are justified.

For these people, National bankruptcy and mass individual insolvency just cannot come quickly enough.

Meanwhile. The Federal Reserve is warning the private sector to not increase wages to keep up with inflation, because increasing wages increases inflation.

In November I went to New York City for the day. Sitting in front of me were four young federal workers from D.C. I traveled during the week when most people with REAL jobs are working. These four weren't going to any meeting or training exercise in New York. From the conversation I heard, they were going to a show and also to go shopping. They all worked apparently at the State Department. Being a nosy, I had to ask why they weren't working. They were happy to explain that they all worked from home, and that no one really checked on them to see if they were doing their jobs and the thought of having to go into an office was so much hassle. I immediately thought of the phrase, "Your Tax Dollars at Work."

How about giving them a 10% CUT in pay, instead? Does a government drudge deserves higher pay than you get working for the taxes that pays their bloated salaries?
