In 2004, Roy Disney — Walt’s nephew — summoned Disney shareholders to the company’s annual meeting, asking them to oust then-chairman and CEO Michael Eisner, who had been running the place for 20 years. Roy had Walt’s face and his “Save Disney” movement brought emotional Disney-loving individual shareholders of all ages to chilly Philadelphia, some leaning on canes and others with babies in strollers. After a stunning 43 percent voted against re-electing Eisner to the board, a new chairman was named immediately and Eisner, despite vowing to remain as CEO until the end of his contract in 2006, departed in 2005. At age 80, Nelson Peltz is

Microsoft is preparing to announce job cuts tomorrow. Sky News reports that thousands of roles will be cut, with the software giant said to be looking at cutting around 5 percent of its workforce. With more than 220,000 employees at Microsoft, that could mean more than 10,000 layoffs.
While Sky News doesn’t name an exact date for the expected cuts, a source familiar with Microsoft’s plans tells The Verge that the company will likely announce layoffs on Wednesday, ahead of its quarterly earnings next week.
Bloomberg is also reporting that a number of layoffs will be announced in Microsoft’s engineering divisions tomorrow. The job cuts are said to be “significantly larger” than

The Department of Justice debated whether to allow the FBI to monitor the search for classified documents in President Joe Biden's home but eventually decided against it, according to a Tuesday report in the Wall Street Journal.
Three batches of classified documents were found on Biden's property in recent months: one at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., and two at his Wilmington, Delaware, property. But the FBI was not present as documents were recovered, and no raids have been conducted, which sources familiar with the matter told the Journal was because Biden's lawyers turned over the documents quickly and continued to cooperate with the Justice Department in the investigation.

Joe Biden’s classified document scandal is unrolling like most things that involve Joe Biden — it’s full of lies and a complete mess.
As we previously reported, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed on Thursday that the search for documents was “complete.” But then more documents were allegedly found Thursday night — though we weren’t told about them until Saturday. Meanwhile, KJP wasn’t telling us that more documents had been found. I think it is fair to say that reporters asking Jean-Pierre questions on Tuesday were not at all happy that she had so misled them.
First, they asked if this was it — could she say now

The Indiana Senate race could perfectly encapsulate the Republican Party’s internal struggles after a disappointing midterm. Jim Banks is diving into it first.
With Mike Braun retiring from the Senate to run for governor in the Hoosier State, Banks is maneuvering to overwhelm any opposition early. But the four-term congressman and his allies are still preparing for a possible clash with Mitch Daniels, a two-term governor of the state who is weighing a bid of his own. “I will be the first candidate in the race,” Banks said in an interview about his bid for the seat. “Mike Braun has been a good conservative senator and Indiana deserves a conservative

The Washington, D.C. city council on Tuesday voted to override Democratic mayor Muriel Bowser’s veto of a progressive public-safety bill that would reduce maximum penalties for certain violent crimes.
The council voted twelve to one to override the veto and impose the measure, which Bowser and her fellow critics argue will exacerbate crime in the district. In November, the council unanimously approved the new criminal code.
The mayor rejected the measure in early January in a letter to chairman Phil Mendelson, voicing her opposition to certain provisions, most of which dealt with the lenient punishments for serious offenses. For example, the code reduces sentences for robberies, carjackings, home invasion

Joe Biden and lying go together like peanut butter and jelly. I mean, let’s be honest: we’re more surprised when the 46th president of the United States tells the truth than when he tells a big fat whopper. But it’s Joe’s world of delusions that’s something else. It’s almost like he caricatures himself on purpose. Such was the case on Monday when Biden delivered a ridiculous speech — hosted by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, no less — purportedly marking Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. How ridiculous was it? Pandering Joe suggested to

In the wake of accusations that Joe Biden may have failed to report thousands of dollars in rental income on his taxes, Joe Biden’s campaign has surreptitiously removed some of his tax returns from its website.
As PJ Media previously reported, Hunter Biden claimed on a background check form to have paid his dad $49,910 a month in rent — a suspiciously high figure given the value of the home — while he was living at Joe’s Wilmington, Del., home from March 2017 to February 2018 following his divorce, the same house where Biden stashed classified documents in his garage next to his prized Corvette. However, according to the Schedule E

Soccer Moms are giving way to Single Woke Females – the new “SWFs” – as one of the most potent voting blocs in American politics. Unmarried women without children have been moving toward the Democratic Party for several years, but the 2022 midterms may have been their electoral coming-out party as they proved the chief break on the predicted Republican wave. While married men and women as well as unmarried men broke for the GOP, CNN exit polls found that 68% of unmarried women voted for Democrats.
The Supreme Court’s August decision overturning Roe v. Wade was certainly a special factor in the midterms, but longer-term trends

Hunter Biden’s monthly rent of $49,910 matches a rental deposit at the House of Sweden related to the Biden family business venture with the infamous CEFC China Energy Co. Hunter’s $49,910 deposit also matches the amount of money he logged on a 2018 background check document unearthed by the New York Post’s Miranda Devine.
In an email on October 13, 2017, Cecilia Browning, the general manager of House of Sweden, an office complex in Washington, DC, emailed Hunter about a lease that Hunter and his Chinese business partners were trying to terminate, according to emails unearthed from Hunter’s “Laptop from Hell.”

The call to ban gas stoves in the U.S., based on environmental concerns, certainly drew backlash from an angry public tired of seeing their household appliances, critical possessions and standard of living being targeted.
After all, they've already gotten our incandescent light bulbs and flush toilets in many quarters. They've meddled with the design of our cars and guns. They're trying to get our meat, telling us to eat bugs instead. Many consumers, and professional chefs, who say gas is best for cooking, simply put their collective foot down.
Where did this lunacy come from?

A former commander with the Russian paramilitary Wagner Group has claimed asylum in Norway after deserting from the mercenary outfit.
Andrey Medvedev, 26, crossed the border into Norway last Friday, where he was detained by border guards.
He is currently being held in the Oslo area where he faces charges of illegal entry to Norway, his lawyer Brynjulf Risnes told the BBC.
Mr Risnes said his client left Wagner after witnessing war crimes in Ukraine.
The Norwegian Border Guard confirmed to the BBC that a Russian man had been detained after crossing the country's 198km (123miles) long border
