Activists are speaking out against a sweeping policy change affecting children at Catholic Schools in southwest Iowa that prohibits them from using their preferred pronouns and bathrooms that defy their biological sex.
The seven new stipulations from The Diocese of Des Moines went into effect on Monday, and all revolve on how the religious organization deals with gender identity at is 17 schools and 80 parishes across the state.
A sect of the Catholic Church, the Diocese laid out an official document outlining the new rules - which includes a mandate that students participating in sports play only on teams matching their sex at birth.

Who woulda thought that a little common sense would first come from the Church where "Woke" was Christened?

#2, I agree wholeheartedly that GOD is perfect and the sentiment you were conveying. He is sovereign and authority. If you will, let me tell you about a conversation I had with my 26-year old daughter. I mention her age because I came away from the conversation seeing a different perspective. We were talking about this very closely-related subject and she said something that gave me pause. My daughter is conservative but she is also the type of person that looks at the bigger picture. She says something to this effect, "mom, but you have to understand they don't believe in God and don't even believe He exists" so what makes you think their actions will be in accordance with God's ways?"
I look at things a little bit differently now. It is usually something like "they really don't get it because they really don't understand" and is now my way of thinking. To have that personal relationship with God and not want it makes me very sad.

This snit fit is because the radicals are taking a stand to dissuade other cities from pursuing either common sense or moral clarity..
The Constitution was written to govern a moral people. We have been continually losing our footing for decades, but this recent gender insanity is far from main stream in this country.

Why should religious schools have to have policies that are inconsistent with their religious beliefs? And why would "woke" activists care about policies in Catholic schools? They don't have to send their kids there.

If the Catholic schools in question hadn't taken government money, they could do as they pleased. Now, the politicians will turn the screws on the church to reverse its policy and a leftist state senator has already threatened to withhold the money. NEVER get hooked on government handouts.

Alex, do a little homework before spouting that kind of idiocy. The Catholic Church does not have sects. We leave that up to the Protestants.

The point here is the Catholic schools are private schools not run by the government and they charge tuition. The the parents who send their children there do it because they want to send them there. They are not forced to. These private schools are an oasis of normalcy in a woke system of perverts.

For those who don't understand the Catholic Church going along with wokie woke idiocy....
Historically, the Catholic Church has always molded itself to fit in with local customs. The church as presented to Northern Europeans (Vikings, etc) was not the same as the church as taught in central and South American during the discovery and colonization period, for example. The church has always adopted the local customs and beliefs into catholic doctrine.
In this case however they have made a serious mistake by accepting state sponsored mental illness as just another cultural affectation they can absorb. Viking and Central American cultures were not mental illnesses, they just had local customs, stories, and so on that got incorporated into church teachings. Trans nonsense is a serious mental illness and they're trying to treat it like a cute local custom they can absorb without radically changing the very meaning of church doctrine. Wokeness is a virus and mental illness. It will destroy the church, they will not absorb it as they have other local customs in the past.

Using preferred pronouns should be just that - preferred. Any compulsion or penalization of those who prefer otherwise is unacceptable and should be made illegal. After all that is what the law is there for. I still 'prefer' Sen. Sen Cruz's choice - kiss my a**!

The circular firing squad of their reasoning is astounding. “G-d doesn’t make junk” they say but next breath, I was born in the wrong body so I must change it to what I feel. Where is G-d in the statement of your feelings? Oh that’s right, you are g-d and that now is your standard, not His. Yet He loves you despite your tantrum and trying to transition into him. May G-d protect and fortify these Catholics to show true love to all. G-ds ways, not the worlds.

The parents that send their children to Catholic/private schools, pay taxes, so why shouldn't some of the government money go to those schools? If you're going to subsidize schools, subsidize them equally. Does the activist claim to be Catholic, like Sniffer and Nasty Pelosi, or did she just attend Catholic school? A lot of parents bear the expense of Catholic schools w/o being Catholic, for the better education vs. the public school system.

Gender is not some made-up identity classification that can be changed. It is genetic and immutable. To quote Tyler Durden "Pasting feathers to your head dows not make you a chicken." To quote me: "Got a 'Y'? you're a guy. No 'Y'? Not a guy." Very simple.

I find it puzzling to think that some people think the Catholic Church is woke. Times change but morality and church teaching never changes.

Simple solution.
Go to a church that supports and provides for your proclivities.
Your lifestyle will NEVER be accepted in the general population. It is a mental health issue that needs serious addressing.
Note to all: the more people and institutions who stand up to wokism an mental deviants the quicker they retreat.
They don't rule if we don't obey.
You can't reason with these creatures. They must be pushed back and hard.

#3 all the more reason to be loud, committed and unwavering in the fight to save humanity.
Their minds and hearts will only be changed by God Almighty. That's not our job. Only God can do it. It's our job to be living examples so that they can see that there is such a thing as a godly life, to the best of human ability.
If we don't stand up and push back we will be swallowed up along with them.

It's so refreshing to see this Diocese stand up for the rights and safety of their members.
The preposterous notion that grown men who struggle with being born MALE are therefore entitled to participate in female sports, while robbing females of privacy in restrooms and locker rooms, has been used far too long to oppress women. The argument often used is that men feel "unsafe" sharing restrooms with other men. Yet women who argue THEY don't feels safe sharing restrooms with MEN, they're treated as though THEIR beliefs regarding their own vulnerability are unwarranted.
Which brings me to Elizabeth Warren, who may have "believed" she was a Native American, but science revealed the truth. She was no such thing. Proclaiming herself as Native American didn't make it so, anymore than men proclaiming themselves to be "women" reveals their "true" gender. Thanks to the Diocese for standing with truth and science.

The Republican Party is traditionally anti-Catholic and this stream of responses largely shows exactly why Catholics are having a hard time leaving the Democrats. This news story is simply good brave news. But the favored direction commenters are going here is to rehearse anti-Catholic bigotry even in comments on a story about a bishop who agrees with them.

Bless the bishop of DesMoines for taking a bold stand. (In reality just a sane stand; but when everybody else seems to be caving, any resistance deserves our regard.) This could turn out to be the Arianism of our time. That bitterly divided Christendom in its time, triggered violence in some instances, and took over a century to put to rest.
Biology and orientation better explain our material identities than the abstract notion of gender, especially when that is further ambiguated by the notions of fluidity and that our minds or desires define our nature. Human hubris is out of control. Our beliefs don't DETERMINE the nature of existence or our Creator. At best we can hope to DESCRIBE them.

In re #13. Sadly, you are correct. As a confirmed Lutheran in the Missouri Synod in 8th grade, I can vouch for the notion that many protestant "sects" have formed over the millennia. These "sects" seem to center around cliques of protestants who tend to socialize well with each other. But oddly, their religious belief systems are generally the same. And yes, there are several fundamentalist sects out there who think THEY are the chosen ones.

The saddest part is that this even has to be articulated. The handful of affected future saints will be wholeheartedly accepted intp the public school system. You should come wherever you're from into something new for what it represents, not to try to wholesale change it into what you are or what you left but I guess it's too much to expect that from anyone on the left.

#4, your daughter is very wise. The discussion in our small group this past Sunday was from a presentation by Larry Osbourne in his "Thriving in Babylon" series. In it he makes a statement that says " Well, I want to go back to the simple thought. I've got it into my mind that those who do not know Jesus are allowed to live as if they do not know Jesus. And that when they are enemies of the cross it's not that they are my enemy, they are victims of my enemy". That has given me pause on how to deal with those people.
