The 11th vote in the US House of Representatives for Speaker is on. Rep. Matt Gaetz recommended President Trump for the Speakership.
First of all, President Trump is eligible for the speaker’s position per prior publications. …The House can elect whomever it wants to serve as speaker, even if it’s someone who isn’t a member of Congress…
…The speaker of the House has always been a member of the House of Representatives, even though the Constitution does not list House membership as a requirement for the job, simply saying lawmakers “shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers.”

Why is nominates in quotes?
He was or wasn't. There is no quote nominated in this process.
Trump, no trump, whatever, as long as it isn't McCarthy.

If that happened, the display of exploding leftist heads would rival anything ever seen on the Fourth of July. A word of caution to the 20 holdouts, though — or anyone else, for that matter. Mess with Donald Trump at your own risk!

Chaotic, obviously, but wouldn't it be fun? That circle-jerk of an institution is broken beyond repair anyway.

Would LOVE having PRESIDENT Trump as speaker of the house. Maybe we woukd get things for America done. Matt Gaetz would work to. But what I don’t understand is why only 20 realRepublicans holding out. The whole Republican house should not vote for McCarthy. He is just another democrat. He voted for amnesty for DACA voted for billions of dollars for Ukraine. Vaxx for the military. Taking money from Medicare to help the USPS. He’s rino. All the republicans who support this guy are nothing but rino’s sad. Only 20 people in that whole Congress are for America They should be ashamed. They are not in Congress to work for the American people. But for themselves! Disgusting!

History proves the U.S. Constitution has guided this country through all sorts of adversities and even wars. Our national direction has been for, "God and Country," from the beginning. Pres. Reagan reminded us of that fast as did Pres. Trump and both Presidents brought peace and prosperity to America and beyond! America was blessed to have such leaders but such great leaders seem to be few and far between and in the meantime we get what we have now: entrenched buddy-buddy cliques who closely guard their turf and forget the voters they left behind. That entrenched, 'deep state,' shunned Reagan and have done worse to Trump, both of whom served this country selflessly, wisely and brought peace and prosperity to the world. Both attacked by far lesser political leaders, some even probably criminals. But I digress. We need another Reagan or Trump NOW! ...But wait, - Pres. Trump could get this ship of state back on course just as he proved he could do before! ...And he definitely is in the Congressional deep state clique dragging this country spiraling down!

I knew this was coming! This notion has been floated about for a while now. The picture on another conservative site is hilarious. I loved it. I know it's not likely to happen but it would be one of the greatest moments in American history if it happened. MAGA

Works for me. Meanwhile, I should be elected as Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. Same rules as Speaker although they would immediately make me a priest and Bishop of Rome.

Too many of them have jumped on the Never-Trump train to be able to make a wise move like this. We are going to end up with Hakeem.

Probably the best way to drain the swamp is through the House. I actually think Trump could do more good as Speaker than as President. It is all about the money and the House controls the money. At least it is supposed to.

OK McCarthy deniers. You have made a lot of headway by shutting down McCarthy's Republican agenda. You made your agenda heard. It is time to abide by the house rules and present your case in open sessions to the whole house for approval. After all we are still a democracy.
Time to work to strengthen the whole party to be able to reign in the Dems and their runaway destruction of the American way. We/you are stronger when our forces are fighting like one solid front against the Socialists and that should be our prime focus, not the deleterious infighting and splitting up the party,
You haven't put forth a candidate or a party agenda for going forward so how do you expect to win the speaker election? It is time to throw you brains and vigor into the common cause and instead of being a road block be a part of a strengthened Republican party.

The problem @22, is that the only thing the RINO led Republican party is strong at is being a willing conduit for Democrat policy with the occasional plausible deniability of objecting to it. Losing a couple days of not progressing on the "peoples' business" is hardly anything to get worked up about since their agenda is hardly aligned with that of the more conservative holdouts and little more than a partially functioning handbrake on runaway spending which they are already complicit in.

#22, reign in the democrats? You mean like the recent Omnibus bill? The whole house is pretty much corrupt and those House rules don’t exist for the righteous. The only chance We The People have are these renegades. More power to them.
