What Eddie Fisher Said

Perhaps only senior citizens will recognize his name and a few millennials might know that he was the father of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Other cinephiles might know that he left his wife Debbie Reynolds to marry Elizabeth Taylor, who left him for Richard Burton, but since they’re all dead, who cares? Well, I was ten years old when I heard Eddie Fisher sing “Count Your Blessings” and it’s a lesson that in this crazy world of protests and angst, we should all heed especially in this season of increasing despair.

"The so-called COVID pandemic was caused by the introduction of an unheard-of coronavirus created in a lab in Wuhan, China. It seems to me that the only reason one would create a virus would be to use it as a bioweapon. More outrageously is the fact that the lab was given research funds by our own National Institutes of Health, where Anthony Fauci was one of the officials. He denies this happened, of course but the NIH confirmed it." At the time, the thought was they couldn't call it a leak because they didn't want to have to have a nuclear war with China. What if it wasn't a "leak" at all. Can you even consider the idea that enemies, "foreign and domestic", would unleash a virus that kills millions to rule the world? They killed 20 million in the '40s. With the post war "population crisis" do you really think 100 million is beyond them?

I read lots of spy novels so that may be why I think this last pandemic was just a trial and when China, with our money, perfects one with 90% death rate for Caucasians we'll all be gone. Including the fools in DC who finance it.

I thank my Creator for His blessings nightly and when I realize one during my day. Currently we are suffering brutally cold weather and I thank The Creator that there are skilled plumbers, linemen, electricians, mechanics, churches, ... helping people through it. They are so much more important to all of us than the athletes and celebrities who provide nothing of real value - just brief entertainment -panem et circes- which are useless if we are living in miserable conditions.

#8, I have a friend who owns a house in Fort Myers. Their place is next the Caloosahatchee River north of Harlem Heights and the ocean surge from Ian flooded their place halfway up to the ceiling. He never found his boat. He and his wife have been gradually demolishing the inside of their house and replacing everything. They have been working hard since late September and expect to continue their project into next spring. And they are almost 80 years old. Hiring a contractor to do the work is next to impossible. It will be over a year before Fort Myers as a city is put back together. As we approach Christmas Day and News Years weekend, indeed, count your blessings, folks.

We live in Naples. When Ian came through, we prayed and it was as if we had a protective bubble surround our home. We never lost power, only wifi, so I baked a ham and scalloped potatoes and we sat in comfort and watched movies on the DVR. We had no phone, computer, TV, so we had no idea of the devastation which surrounded us until 5 days later when wifi was restored. The winds and storm surge did a tremendous amount of damage here, and worse to the north of us. We are indeed counting our blessings, and praying for the many people who lost so much, many still living in makeshift tents. Odd how Fed and FEMA help has been so slow coming to the aid of red state FL, don't you think?.

Yes, we are all blessed to be Americans even as the country deteriorates, with deliberate malice, as Colon so poignantly describes. We are blessed to have writers such as Alicia Colon and to have a President, Donald J. Trump who more than ever needs all of our love and support. The goodness he did for our country is incalculable. God bless America, God bless our beloved Lucianne and Rush in Heaven and God bless all of our Ldotters. Merry Christmas to all.

Much of today's hot topics involve Elon Musk disclosing details of Twitter's censorship of the New York Post article about Hunter Biden's laptop. Since I bookmark the N.Y. Post webpage, I had already read the article, as had millions of other readers. Now, why on Earth would I then pay any attention to Twitter, Facebook, TikTok or any other social network to disbelieve what I had read with my own two eyes?

“We have put together" ... "the most extensive and inclusive VOTER FRAUD organization” in history…..Joe Biden 2020 Don't believe he said it? He may have misspoken or he may have just spoken the absolute truth. There was a great article in PJMedia by David Solway entitled: DeSantis in 2024? Think Again. It was an eye-opening although bleak reminder of how difficult it will be to elect any Republican given the voting machine manufactured and engineered by the Democrats and paid for by billionaire despots like George Soros and Sam Bankman-Fried.

Forgive me for using such harsh words but I just watched Greg Gutfeld mock a NYC Councilwoman for making what can only be a very, very dumb inexplicable statement. Tiffany Caban, representing D22, released a public safety guide urging merchants to call 3-1-1, not 9-1-1, to seek mental health services and engage in community mediation, rather than call the cops. She tweeted: "We're distributing them to local businesses, so our neighborhood is equipped with better ways of solving problems than simply summoning police every time a challenge arises."

Perhaps stupid is not the right word. Gullible is not right either. It's really hard to pinpoint the main reason behind the disastrous state of our country but the cold hard fact is that many Americans have fallen for two of the biggest hoaxes perpetrated by the left , the media and corrupt politicians. It's too simple to blame the voters of any particular party when the main culprits are the individuals who just can't be bothered with politics. They don't want to get involved so they don't vote yet they complain when their taxes go up or their civil rights are taken away

Former president Donald Trump emerged from 38 days of self-enforced silence for a lengthy speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, that was frequently interrupted with boisterous applause and chants from an adoring, mostly white and older crowd. He was spot-on in his indictment of the five-week-old Biden administration, accusing the new president of lying about his "radical far-left" agenda during the campaign. Predictably, he also slammed the "fake news" for what he said was their assistance in covering up that agenda.

Trump is the only person in world history to reach the pinnacle of all of those fields. And the only person to become both a billionaire and president of the United States. It's not a bad resume. After weeks of being holed up inside, hundreds of millions of Americans eagerly await guidance from their governors and the Trump administration on when they can return to work. Unfortunately, a vaccine appears too far off to serve as a prerequisite for reopening the economy. This has prompted officials to call for extensive national testing efforts to identify individuals free of coronavirus. But these efforts require Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of rapid at-home testing, and the agency appears to be dragging its feet. Now more than ever, Americans need a responsive FDA that puts patients’ lives over half-measures and unnecessary risk aversion.

The HHS’ “National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease” said black, Hispanic and low-income populations are more likely to face health-related risk factors that contribute to Alzheimer’s and said this disparity is due to “structural inequities” that are the result of racism.

Kevin McCarthy of California’s difficult campaign for speaker of the House. “House Republicans say that they want to craft a budget, but they haven’t yet been able to select a speaker,” Romney said, referencing the fact that several House Republicans came out in opposition to McCarthy’s bid for speaker. Romney noted it would be very difficult to sort out budgets for the current fiscal year and the following fiscal year.

But I will not concede that critics of the vaccine are spreading misinformation nor stoking unreasonable fears. Quite a few sober scientists and even the health officials of many OECD countries have expressed real and reasonable skepticism

Here’s one part of the nearly $2 trillion American Rescue Plan passed last year that few people apparently read. The bill included more than half a million dollars in grants for tech researchers to develop artificial intelligence algorithms capable of identifying and suppressing “microaggressions” in social media posts. Part of the money was quietly gifted to researchers at the University of Washington earlier this year and they expect to receive the rest of it in coming years as the development work proceeds. You may find yourself wondering how the federal government wound up handing out taxpayer money to develop ways to automatically censor the free speech of its citizens.
