Where’s the Outrage?

Original Article

Bob Dole ran a pretty poor campaign against Bill Clinton in 1996. It was no surprise, then, that he lost. But let history acknowledge the former U.S. senator from Kansas asked the very best question in the entire election cycle. “Where’s the outrage?” he thundered at a GOP event at the end of October 1996. Back then, the chief issue was the Clinton Administration’s use and abuse of 900 FBI files on their political opponents. Imagine! An American president using the FBI as his secret police! Have you ever heard of anything so outrageous? In America, amidst Our Democracy™?

I remember holding my nose and trying valiantly not to vomit as I voted for Bob Dole, damn his useless soul! Why you ask? When h was the Majority leader of the senate, both houses of Congress were set to pass "Term Limitation" for members of Congress. Dole in his infinite STUPIDITY cast the deciding vote to KILL the legislation. Stating: " If we passed it, No need to wonder how that turned out Clinton would veto the legislation and then we"d never get it passed"... No need to wonder how that worked out for him. That's his legacy insofar as I'm concerned ...Infinite Stupidity.

Many Americans are now dumbed down so far that they only get outraged when their masters in the swamp tell them to. I still get outraged but many of the people in the Uni-Party ignore me anyway.

There was outrage. News stories ,editorials and some of the pols huffed and puffed but at the end of the day Janet Reno nor any other democrat holding the reins of power were going to do a single thing about it. Not as bad as today but same play book. Besides all the republicans were scared witless their FBI file was being used for dinner fare in Hillary's West Wing.

#4, I have the same concern. 'We', who are soon to control the House, are poised to conduct numerous investigations as promised by our Representatives, But without controlling the Senate or DOJ, what will it matter? It will just be more exposed 'truth' that remains unreported or denied as 'old news'. We know that the 2020 election was stolen but nothing will ever be done about it. No one is going to jail or even be publicly shamed by what happened. And we kid ourselves if we think that future elections are going to hinge on the People being 'informed'. Move on - it is almost 2023, already. We will reclaim the Presidency and Congress only if we convince the American people that we have a viable plan to better their lives and the lives of their children.

"Where's the Outrage?" I'll say it again. There will be no outrage. Why should there be? We still have jobs, money and all the modern conveniences. Nothing has been taken away from us...yet.

Since 1992 Americans have been deluged with "outrageous" political and social developments, Thirty years of "outrage". Someone is "outraged" all the time over developments great and small. And like anything else, the constant "outrage" has no effect and loses its edge. Think back...when was the last time you weren't "outraged" over something? It's the politicians' stock in trade. As Mencken noted, "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." Where's the "outrage"? It's all around us and essentially meaningless.

I'm still outraged Hillary demanded to see the FBI files, which were given to her. She read them all. That was the beginning of her power grab.

The goal of the green anarchists is quite transparent. They want to make oil and gas too regulated, expensive, and scarce to remain viable while subsidizing and mandating fake green energy to perpetuate the lie of global warming so they can eventually transition us to centrally controlled unreliable energy. Then we can fulfill the dream of “eat bugs, own nothing, and be happy” by 2030. Republicans who have bought into this “carbon capture” scam think it’s a way of saving oil and gas by acceding to the premise that CO2 is a problem,

The title of the present volume, The Funny Stuff, might imply the existence of other volumes of the not-funny variety, presumably by the same author, but this is not so. Some 20 other volumes of genuinely funny stuff by the late P.J. O’Rourke are, indeed, already weighing down our bookshelves. What this new book does is build a kind of museum exhibit of O’Rourke sentences, the better to examine them up close while we note their careful construction and hell-for-leather action. As for the perky title, it’s just an opening gambit, a promise that you’ll want to pause admiringly here,

House Republicans are pushing to bar any person or business associated with the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing agricultural land in the United States, an effort gaining traction on the Hill as lawmakers look to retaliate against China over its spy-balloon incursion. Reps. Dan Newhouse (R., Wash.) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R., Wash.), alongside more than 40 cosponsors, last week proposed legislation that would prohibit any purchase of public or private agricultural real estate in the United States and its territories by "nonresident aliens, foreign businesses, or any agent, trustee, or fiduciary associated with the Government of the People's Republic of China."

President Biden’s long overdue decision to end the Covid-19 public health emergency declaration on May 11 has exposed the big-government activists who used the pandemic to expand and entrench the nanny state. At the start of the pandemic, the federal government passed a law prohibiting states from removing ineligible individuals from Medicaid until the emergency declaration was ended. In exchange, the federal government picked up a bigger share of the program’s cost at taxpayers’ expense.

Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson shredded federal agencies and the corporate media for working with Democratic operatives to promote “left-wing ideology” in the past several years. Johnson criticized agencies for allegedly covering for left-wing politicians while simultaneously targeting former President Donald Trump and other conservatives in the years following the 2016 presidential election. He accused the media of complying with the FBI in investigating the now-discredited allegations that Russia colluded with the 2016 Trump campaign and covering up the Hunter Biden laptop story.

Like a NASCAR driver, McConnell was apparently just sporting the hues of the brand he represents.

On Tuesday, President Biden delivered his second State of the Union address. The speech was peppered by surprisingly agile ad libs about not sunsetting Social Security as well as calls for Democrats and Republicans to unite, especially around spurring economic growth and productivity through a new push for "made in America." The President noted—rightly—that a reinvigoration of U.S. manufacturing will inspire feelings of pride, hope, optimism, and collaboration across the aisle. Yet while his invitation for bipartisanship was music to my ears, I recognized the tone of sweet talk and low substance.

Republican Rep. George Santos positioned himself in a prime location for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address — an uncomfortably prominent place for the embattled new lawmaker who faces multiple investigations and has acknowledged embellishing and even lying about his life story. Santos’ presence at the center aisle to see and be seen with the arrivals was met with a stern rebuke from a fellow Republican, Sen. Mitt Romney. “You don’t belong here,” the Utah Republican scolded Santos as he entered the House chamber and spotted the New York Republican on the aisle.

The public is gradually learning how, despite repeated denials and non-answers, top government officials were well aware of the potential for violence on January 6, 2021. A chief investigator on the January 6 select committee told NBC News last week that law enforcement was privy to a trove of intelligence indicating problems could arise during the election certification process but, for some unexplained reason, chose to ignore the warning signs. “The Intel in advance was pretty specific, and it was enough in our view for law enforcement to have done a better job operationalizing a secure perimeter.”

The line apparently failed, as very few in the room laughed and some looked confused or concerned. Watch: Very funny, Joe. As the New York Post reports, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed in last month’s report on foreign-held land that Chinese buyers currently own at least 384,235 of American land. By contrast, the full expanse of New York City covers just 193,700 acres. Even Bill Gates’ total land ownership is dwarfed by China’s, with just 270,000 acres. Of all the foreign-owned farmland in the U.S., China owns roughly 0.9 percent, or about $1.2 billion worth of land, according to the USDA report.
