The House Committee on Ethics said Wednesday it is investigating Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.).
The panel released a statement saying the Office of Congressional Ethics forwarded its inquiry into the progressive congresswoman to the panel in June, which typically suggests the office believes an ethics law was violated. It was not immediately clear what the investigation was about.

A concealed carry holder shot two teenagers who were trying to rob him Monday morning in Austin, according to Chicago police.
The man, 56, was in his car in the 4700 block of West Arthington Avenue when three teens approached in another car just before 6 a.m., police said.
The incident unfolded around 6 a.m. in the city’s west side when a vehicle with "three males inside" approached the victim, who was inside his own vehicle, Chicago Police told Fox News Digital in a statement.

The Loudoun County school board fired Superintendent Scott Ziegler in a closed-door meeting Tuesday night after a special grand jury released a report blaming the district for failing to escalate cases of student sexual assault in 2021.

Walmart's CEO has warned that the retail giant may have to hike prices and shutter some stores amid 'historically high' thefts.
Speaking on CNBC's Squawk Box Tuesday, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon admitted that theft has become a major issue for the chain known for its low prices, saying woke district attorneys' lenient policies need to be 'corrected.'
'If that's not corrected over time, prices will be higher and our stores will close,' he told co-host Rebecca Quick.

Police were seen outside of Cruz's Houston, Texas, home on Tuesday evening after a 14-year-old, believed to be his daughter Caroline, was found with self-inflicted wounds on her arms shortly before 8pm. A representative for the Senator said it was a 'family matter' and that Cruz's daughters were 'okay,' according to ABC 13. Houston Police Department also said there was 'no criminal activity' and it was 'not a family violence issue.'
