House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, who appears to be unopposed in his bid to be the Democratic Minority Leader next year, told CNN on Sunday morning that the party's number one "nongovernmental goal" will be to take back the House majority in 2024. "We're not satisfied [with the results in 2022]. Our top nongovernmental goal must be reclaiming the House in 2024," Jeffries said. "And I'm committed to making sure that that happens for the good of the American people." "It's an honor to stand on the shoulders of such an extraordinary group of leaders, Jim Clyburn, Steny Hoyer

Democrats no longer care about winning voters by their policies. In fact, what policies that support the good of the American people have they fielded since 2021? Every policy benefits illegals, or democrats personal finances or foreign countries. Regarding elections, all they want are ballots. Whomever collects the most ballots wins, doesn’t matter where they came from, or how you got them, just stuff them in a ballot drop box. Keeping Power and pushing you down that’s all they care about.

I would suggest the number one priority of any part is proper governance. To the extant that a party deviates from this role, it loses adherence and influence.

I wonder if Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Hoyer, and Mr. Clybourn will be given honorary positions by the House Democrats. I remember when the GOP won back the House in 2014 (I think) and normally, the Speaker drops back to Majority Leader and the Majority Leader drops back to Whip, which was Clyborns' position and included a car and driver and security. So, Clybourn was going to lose his perks. The House Dems set up a phony position for him so he could keep those perks. I'm guessing Mrs. Pelosi will soon be off to Italy as our new Ambassador, so she'll get perks in that job. So that leaves Hoyer and Clyborurn.

In high school I was friends with a couple guys who were on the basketball team. The team was racially integrated, and the black players had considerable talent individually. However, my friends told me that they never ran the plays the coaches drilled during practice, preferring to showboat and display their individual talents. The most interesting thing my friends shared was the fact that the coaches NEVER allowed the black players to in-bounds the ball when the opposing team employed a press because they invariably threw the ball away or dribbled it out of bounds for a turn-over. I'm thinking Hakeem might be one of the black players on that team. Time will tell.

I believe him in that the House is their main priority. That way, even. if Trump wins the presidency, the House dems can. go back to the impeachment well until they get him removed. And if they fail, then they've still dominated his time and focus as it's hard to go on the offensive when you are having to play defense. Failing the removal of Trump or whomever may win the presidency, they will control the purse strings. Not even Trump was immune to the media blaming him for shutting down the government.

Democrats spent a reported $53 million boosting what Joe Biden calls “ultra-MAGA” candidates into nominations for key Senate and House races in order to protect vulnerable incumbents or open seats. And since that strategy largely worked, we can expect Democrats to try it again in 2024. And who better to promote than the ultra-MAGAiest MAGA of all? The previously unimaginable has happened: The storybook island of Martha’s Vineyard, the seasonal home of billionaires and hundreds of elite cultural and political movers and shakers, not to mention one of three year-round homes of the Obamas, has finally experienced that rarity previously limited to the mainland: violent gun crime. And surprise: The alleged perpetrators are not MAGA white nationalists. Rather, evidence so far points to migrants, possibly of the illegal kind. This is a bitter pill for most Vineyard residents to swallow. The island’s six towns have all declared themselves to be sanctuary communities.
