Fox News legal analyst Jonathan Turley said Friday on “America Reports” that potential obstruction charges in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents investigation seemed like the “most menacing” while discussing Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing Special Counsel Jack Smith to oversee the probes into former President Donald Trump.
Turley said, “The attorney general referred to obstruction a couple of times. That’s really where the greatest concern probably will lie for the Trump team. I mean, the scope of this is going to contain both the January 6th riot and the election, as well as Mar-a-Lago. As I said earlier, we still have not seen a very strong basis

As I see it, there are several motives at work here.
In no particular order:
1) consume PDJT’s mental, emotional, financial energy.
2) dictate the tired Communists’ talking points
3) as a result of 1 and 2, wear out his supporters.
4) establish the template of harassment for his next Presidential term, should they allow him to win.
REMEMBER Boys and Girls: they HATE him (and, by extension, they hate US), and they FEAR him.

All of these attacks on Trump are part of the left's psyop warfare to counter the looming Hunters Laptop investigations and all the dirt that will come out. Both sides are putting on a clown show and in the end, it makes great tv coverage and ratings plus there will be zero court actions that end in prison time for Hunter, and Trump will be found again to be not guilty of anything due to no evidence of any crime.

Another target is the independent voter. Democrats liked what they saw in the mid term elections.

Have you considered maybe they want us to be so focused on their continuing attacks on Trump that we will be distracted from the horrible things they are doing to us. I know people who hate Trump so bad that don’t seem to notice just how bad things have gotten the last 2 years. I guarantee you, if the far left have their way. It is going to get a lot worse.

What is it with Turley? You can never trust him to be solid on the law. He's as solid as jello!
He uses weasel words like "potential" "seemed" and on and on. Can't stand these attorneys.

What this government(democrats, DOJ, FBI) is doing to Trump is reprehensible and criminal. Stuff like this never happened to anyone in American history. This is proof it could happen to regular American citizens.

The AG is just doing what he was told to do when he was appointed; get Trump. By going after Trump again, they are covering up the news about the Biden Crime Family and the Pelosi mess. The MSM will cover that instead of Biden and Pelosi. I hope McCarthy is up to the job but I have my doubts.

I respect Turley, but I believe he is wrong on the classified documents possession by President Trump.
Prior to the passage of the 1978 Presidential Records Act, the president owned all of his records. Period.
Then the 1978 Act was passed, but has not ever been tested in court, as far as I know.
In addition, the FBI has admitted that the classified documents have not been misused, but instead, were kept by DJT for ego purposes.
And ego is not against the law.
Either way, I believe nothing will come of Mar A Lago, and nothing with January 6th.
But investigations will remind voters that the turbulence of the DJT presidency was disconcerting, and the only way to avoid future dustups would be to vote aginst DJT..
And, does anyone remember that the FBI apparently leaked information that DJT had kept nuclear weapons plans?? How outrageous was that?? It was the big lie.

Professor Turley was talking about the low hanging fruit that the corrupt persecutors will attempt to go after. Some of the questioning of people in Trumps Mara Lago may have misspoke and will be ran through the grinder to smear Trump by association. All in all, as we know it is a political hit piece.

Any charges are pure fantasy, a mass of lies created by his political enemies.

A determination that the failure to turn over “classified” documents of no national security or business value was nevertheless a technical “obstruction of justice” elevates form over substance. If that is the case, the prosecutor should offer a misdemeanor and small fine.

They keep going after Trump to move attention from the real problem in this country, the corrupt Biden family. With hard evidence that will destroy the Biden presidency the FBI still covers for this thug while they focus on Trump. Welcome to North Korea.
