The moment the government’s inflation number came out last Thursday, the stock market rocketed upward. President Joe Biden took a victory lap. It was less than expected! Inflation is cooling off! Sounds wonderful. Except that prices rose in October by almost 8% year-over-year. That’s four times faster than the Federal Reserve Bank’s 2% target rate. And it marks the 20th consecutive month since inflation has been above the Fed’s target. It also comes on top of previous record-level price hikes. When prices started shooting up last year, the White House said it was no big deal because of the “base effect.” They said

Inflation will not be solved without a change in circumstances and behaviors. The latest reduction is likely a trough between waves.

Good news everybody, we're running off the cliff but the rate at which we are increasing our pace toward our doom went down a tiny bit! Yea let's keep on keeping on.

The 1200 point increase in the stock market last week wasn't just about inflation and the suspected slowing of interest rate hikes by the fed, it was also about the so called red wave which was supposed to happen the next day. That of course didn't happen, and the stock market rally died right there. Right now, the market is waiting for the Republicans to take control of the Congress and waiting to see if the Fed continues its 75 basis point increases in the interest rates.

Sorry, but I am very negative on our prospects. Inflation can only be reduced with reductions in government spending. That is not going to happen with this administration prosecuting a war with Russia in Ukraine, and their insane climate and energy spending. The foot on the neck of American freedom is not going to promote prosperity, nor joy in living. Americans are not enjoying the government psyops being directed at them, or the prospect of 87,000 armed IRS agents. With current policies, American standard of living will fall gradually up to 40%. We have lost our status as the world's reserve currency. That means we will have to start paying our debts, instead of increasing, and rolling them over. The world economy is in very bad shape. The Stanford economist, Taylor, who is old and doesn't care what other people think, says the Fed rate will go to 6%, which is another 2%. We are in a recession, and that is not going to change anytime soon. Unemployment will increase, and we are going to have more financial bankruptcies, similar to FTX. We cannot continue to finance 40-50% of our government by printing money. The solution is going to be very painful to America.

Voters Reject ‘Amnesty’ For Big Mistakes
Made During COVID: I&I/TIPP Poll

A recent online magazine article proposed a controversial idea: Those government and private officials who might have made serious errors during the COVID-19 pandemic should be granted “amnesty” for their mistakes. Will it fly? As the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows, the answer is “not likely.” The article in question, Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty, appeared in the Oct. 31 online edition of The Atlantic. Specifically, the article, written by Brown University economist Emily Oster (who herself was heavily criticized for supporting school reopenings during COVID) urged: We have to put these fights aside and declare a pandemic amnesty.

When Election Day Lasts For A Month 7 replies

On Sunday, five days after “Election Day,” Americans still didn’t know which party will have a majority in the House while two states were waiting to find out who their next governors will be. Even the BBC has been wondering “when will we know who won.” Have the delays been caused by incompetence or malign forces? Surely both, but it’s the latter that has had the biggest impact. Forty-two years ago, on the evening of Nov. 4, 1980, the day of the election, President Jimmy Carter conceded to his Republican challenger Ronald Reagan at 9:50 pm Eastern Standard Time. Eight years later

Major League Baseball moved its 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta because the Legislature passed an election law that the Democrats and media claimed was designed to suppress the vote, especially that of minorities. Yet somehow Georgia voters turned out in higher numbers earlier this week than they did in the two previous midterm elections. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred owes Atlanta, the entire state of Georgia, the Braves, and, in fact, the entire nation an apology. On April 2, the day after the 2021 baseball season began, Manfred announced that he had “decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating

Among the many different issues that roiled the electorate in this 2022 midterm-election cycle, perhaps none had as large an impact as illegal immigration. On this issue, American voters remain fed up with the status quo and want major changes made, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. Given the more than 500% increase in illegal crossings in the last five years, we asked poll respondents shortly before the election what should be done about the “costly disruption of border cities, human trafficking, higher crime and suspected terrorists crossing the border.” One answer stood out as unworkable to the 1,359 voters who answered the online I&/TIPP Poll,

The anticipated red tsunami didn’t hit the U.S. in the midterm elections, which is a disappointment. Even so, beginning next year the Republicans will probably have a majority in the House and likely 50 lawmakers or, possibly, even a slight majority of 51 in the Senate. If what the Democrats and their propagandists in the media have been saying for years is correct, we’ve now entered America’s fascist stage. It’s a lie, of course, but let’s play along and take a look at what to expect from this coming regime of “fascism.”

"The Red Wave.” If you’ve been watching Fox News and frequenting conservative websites the last few weeks (and this commentator admits he does more than his share of both), you were hearing how Republicans were going to have another one of those massive 2010-style seat pickups in the House. Win 56 seats in the Senate. Celebrate upsets in Michigan and even New York governors’ mansions. Yeah, right. Fox News commentators (yeah, doing it again) in the wee hours of Wednesday morning were struggling to justify salvaging at least a “Red Ripple.” Turned out to be a Red Puddle. Of blood.

The Democrats and their media accomplices keep telling us the Republicans are the fascists and autocrats hungry for power. But just the opposite is true. The Democrats themselves made it clear during the pandemic that they are the party of authoritarianism. In the spring of 2020, this country went into a lockdown. As Jeffrey Tucker of the Brownstone Institute has noted, government officials canceled public worship services, segregated the large cities, abolished in-person education, foisted masks on all the kids, destroyed millions of businesses, and censored speech

You experience what Homer Simpson described as “that sweet couple of seconds before I remember why I’m sleeping on the lawn.” You feel around and breathe a sigh of relief that you are still indoors, slowly open one eye, see your spouse glaring at you, and it all floods back. You had too much fun last night. Sleepy Joe Biden may have trouble shuffling onto, and especially off of, a stage. But at the podium at Union Station Wednesday last, America’s counterfeit chief executive managed a nifty little two-step that made it official: Grand Theft Election II is coming to a polling place near you. Step One: Dredge up the Meticulously Concocted “Big Lie” Narrative. As previously highlighted on these pages, the January 6 show trials on Capitol Hill and before hanging judges in D.C. courts bundled hyperbole and one-sided testimony into a fabulist storyline: that an infuriated President Trump and disparate collaborators executed a massive and unlawful conspiracy,

The closer we got to the midterm elections, the more desperate Democrats have been to either downplay the crime wave or blame it all on Republicans. But it turns out that the FBI has been making it more difficult to get accurate crime data as well. For months, Democrats and the press have argued that crime isn’t as bad as it’s being made to seem and that Republicans are sensationalizing it to scare voters. “If it’s the fall of a year ending in an even number, you can be pretty sure Republicans will try to scare you with paranoia

Faced with questions about his ability to lead after the midterm election debacle, a defiant Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell deflected blame from his own culpability in the Democrats retaining control of the upper chamber and instead blamed it on public dissatisfaction with MAGA candidates. The embattled McConnell spoke to reporters on Tuesday, defending his dismal performance and the refusal to adequately fund candidates who were endorsed by former and perhaps future President Donald J. Trump such as Blake Masters in Arizona, instead spending money to support RINO Lisa Murkowski in Alaska against her America first opponent, also a Republican.

America's #1 cable news channel was the outlet that former vice president Mike Pence chose on Tuesday evening to do everything but formally declare that he will be a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. In an extensive live interview with Bret Baier from New York, where he is promoting his political memoir, So Help Me God, published yesterday (including an hour-long town hall on CNN tonight), Pence used the high-profile platform of Fox News to position himself as a sane, moderate, Christian-inspired alternative to President Trump as well as any other candidates among the growing number who plan to challenge President Biden in two years.

Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer made a fresh pitch for amnesty Wednesday when he claimed the U.S. is 'short of workers' so Congress needs to pass a 'path to citizenship' for 'however many undocumented there are here'. 'We're short of workers, we have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to,' the New York Democrat reasoned. 'The only way we're going to have a great future is if we welcome and embrace immigrants… get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many there are here.'

There have been many postmortems written about the outcome of the 2022 mid-term elections. Nearly all focus on political or structural issues. Did the Republican primary voters pick terrible candidates? Why didn’t the Republican hierarchy spend more money on candidates x, y, or z? Is Trump’s endorsement the kiss of death in a general election? Why didn’t the Republicans better prepare for voting fraud and manipulation? But what nearly everyone fails to understand is that this election further amplified that this nation has effectively and permanently split into two countries tenuously living side-by-side,
