In his 2011 farewell address to graduates of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, then-Defense Secretary Bob Gates raised eyebrows when he said that any future Pentagon chief “who advises the President to again send a big American land army into Asia or the Middle East or Africa should ‘have his head examined,’ as General MacArthur so delicately put it.” He made the statement just months before NATO began its aerial assault on the Libyan state,(snip)The jihad against Syria was to replay the CIA’s war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, except in reverse.

It's also an atrocity that the Chinese strip mine in the worst way to gather rre earth materials which are used to power "green" vehicles and appliances - with no discussion or recognition of the social and ecologial damage wrought to salve Western green "consciences". Worse, we are being mandated by government to buy these filthy things with no real regard for anything but the lack of an immediate exhaust pipe. Americans have their ways to make it "all better."

Arnaud Bertrand has published (actually, the first tweet is dated 2/28/22) a thread on Twitter that is a compilation of “strategic thinkers” and foreign policy opinion warning against exactly the policies that the US has followed against Russia since the Clinton years. These experts—many of them with long years of diplomatic, intel, and academic experience—span the range of American political views.(snip)That will serve to illustrate the breadth of opinion opposing the insane policy of attempting to subjugate and dismember Russia. It will also serve as a summary of the strength of the reasoned depth of this opposition, which continues to this day—despite MSM censorship:

A Chinese firm’s purchase of land in Florida to build a breeding facility for lab monkeys is drawing scrutiny over the company founders’ ties to the Chinese military. JOINN Laboratories CA Inc., the California subsidiary of a biotech firm headquartered in Beijing, in July purchased more than 1,400 acres of land for building a primate facility in Florida’s Levy County, county records show. With a combined value of $5.5 million, the 10 parcels of land purchased from L & T Cattle & Timber represents one of the largest known Chinese acquisitions of U.S. land in recent years. While construction has not begun, the deal has attracted public attention at a time of

Like Edie Brickell, I'm not aware of too many things.(snip) One of the few things I know is inflation risen from the dead like Christopher Lee in the beginning of every one of his Dracula movies. Reagan drove a wooden stake through inflation in the 1980s and his successors carried a crucifix afterward. Then came Biden. He emptied the Treasury by borrowing trillions of dollars to spend on the Green New Deal (ironically labeled the Inflation Reduction Act) and on an infrastructure program called the American Rescue Plan. Democrat Senator Mark Warner of Virginia told Bloomberg, “Was there too much in the American Rescue Plan on a relative basis? Absolutely.”

Seven affiliates of the Alaska Republican Party have now formally slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his interference in the Alaskan Senate contest against the party-endorsed candidate. On Wednesday, the Republican Women of Kenai became the latest Alaska Republican group to lambast the Kentucky senator and demanded his own state party censure him. In March last year, the Alaska Republican Party censured Sen. Lisa Murkowski and pledged to support a primary opponent. The party endorsed Kelly Tshibaka four months later. Because Alaska will use ranked-choice voting in its general election in lieu of traditional party primaries, the two Republicans are still embattled in competition.

Life comes at you fast. On Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett decided not to get involved with Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness scheme, denying a Wisconsin group’s bid to block the order. That had liberals spiking the football, suggesting that it wouldn’t be possible for anyone to gain standing to challenge the president’s move. Things shifted quickly on Friday, though. The 8th Circuit has now put an administrative stay in place, stopping Biden from moving forward with any cancellation of student debt.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccine advisory committee unanimously voted to add the Covid-19 shot to the growing list of recommended childhood vaccines this week. Most states follow this recommended immunization schedule (snip) not all vaccines are created equal. Most of the standard scheduled shots have had decades, entire lifetimes to go through long-term trial-and-error. The Covid-19 shot did not even receive standard clinical trial evaluations, and this is just one factor in my family’s decision to avoid the new shot at all costs. Clinical research is necessary to determine if medical substances used to treat illnesses and diseases are safe.

The ACIP voted to add the COVID-19 injections to the childhood schedule, which determines what vaccines a state mandates for children to attend school. Main stream media is pretending that states determine what vaccines are used, but the truth is that pediatricians use the CDC schedule and state public health officials use this schedule. State public health systems use the schedule to determine which vaccines to require for children to enter schools. Yes, some states have more stringent requirements than others. Some states allow for “opt-outs,” but in the end, most states follow the CDC guidelines. The ACIP functionally establishes “standard of care” in this area.

While we should never count our chickens until they are fully out of their shells, there is almost unanimous agreement among the major polling groups that the GOP should be able to retake the majority in the House next month. If that happens, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy still appears to be the odds-on favorite to be the next Speaker, though that assumption also comes with a few caveats. Some of the GOP members in the lower chamber have clearly been feeling their oats and have been starting to suggest that Joe Biden might be impeached
