A conservative taxpayers group wants President Joe Biden's student-loan forgiveness plan blocked as soon as possible — and it's taking matters to the Supreme Court. The Brown County Taxpayers Association in Wisconsin filed an emergency request to the Supreme Court on Wednesday, asking to temporarily pause Biden's student-debt relief plan before Sunday, when the group expects the administration to start officially canceling borrowers' debt. The conservative group, represented by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL), initially filed a lawsuit against the debt relief on October 4, arguing that it has an "improper racial motive" by seeking to help Black borrowers and advance racial equity.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced Thursday that he has filed a lawsuit against Google for allegedly having "unlawfully" captured the biometric data of "millions of Texans" without their consent.
"Google's indiscriminate collection of the personal information of Texans, including very sensitive information like biometric identifiers, will not be tolerated," Paxton said in a statement.
"I will continue to fight Big Tech to ensure the privacy and security of all Texans."
Paxton alleged that Google had collected and stored voice prints and records of face geometry from Texans Google Photos, Google Assistant and its Nest smart-home products since 2015 without their informed consent,

Missing Princeton student Misrach Ewunetie was found dead Thursday — six days after she vanished, local officials announced.
The 20-year-old’s body was found behind the tennis courts near the edge of the Ivy League campus by a facilities employee, the office of the Mercer County Prosecutor said.
Authorities said they do not know her cause of death but noted that “there were no obvious signs of injury and her death does not appear suspicious or criminal in nature.” Her body was located around 1 p.m. Thursday.
The Ivy League school also said in a statement that police do not believe there was foul play in Ewunetie’s death.

Remember earlier this month when the news broke about a Vermont high school allowing a biologically male student to use the girl’s locker room? Well, there has been a new and disturbing development in this saga. A father who works at the school was suspended for speaking out against the policy after his daughter was made uncomfortable by the male student.
The situation began when the Daily Signal reported that two girls who are members of the Randolph High School’s volleyball team asked the boy, who identifies as a girl, to leave the locker room after he made an inappropriate comment.
In an order that illustrates the bizarre views of controversial Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a federal court has turned down Benson’s motion to throw out a lawsuit filed against her for refusing to remove almost 26,000 dead voters from Michigan voters rolls.

The Social Security Administration announced this week that people will now be able to select the sex that most aligns with their “gender identity” in records going forward.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned Thursday after less than two months in office amid pressure following a reversal of economic policies that led to economic instability.
Truss made the announcement a day after she defiantly declared that she is "a fighter and not a quitter." Ultimately, however, she said that circumstances have changed.
"Given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party," Truss said. “I have therefore spoken to His Majesty the King to notify him that I am resigning as leader of the Conservative Party."
