Researchers at Boston University say they have developed a new COVID strain that has an 80% kill rate following a series of similar experiments first thought to have started the global pandemic that began in China.
The variant, a combination of Omicron and the original virus in Wuhan, killed 80% of the mice infected with it, the university said. When mice were only exposed to Omicron, they experienced mild symptoms.
The research was conducted by a team of scientists from Florida and Boston at the school's National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories. They extracted the spike protein from Omicron and attached it with the strain first detected at the onset

Are they completely insane? Or just evil.
What could possibly go wrong?
Did these "scientists" rub their hands together and laugh maniacally when all those mice died?

The fact that Fox does not link to the original paper suggests that this is just more disinformation intended to frighten the public. COVID in mice is not transmissible to humans any more than COVID in bats is. The Wuhan lab experiments were designed to take a bat virus and modify to be highly infectious specifically to humans while bypassing the normal zoogenic processes that mutate naturally and degrade in lethality. No intermediate species has ever been found for the Wuhan virus in nature.

The mice that were used in the lab were from lines that had been genetically modified to express the human ACE2 reception used by the Omicron spike protein. This suggests that the variant would be infectious to humans if they were exposed. The mice lines have also been modified to be more susceptible to SARS-COV-2 than healthy humans so the lethality percentages would be much lower in humans. Until I see the original paper from Boston University, I remain skeptical that these articles are the full intent of the research.

If this is true, I'll bet you $5 that they have already developed a vaccine for themselves. Right?

So I can't have a gun, but a University can make a deadly virus that kills 80% of the people if the get infected. Oh boy, more vaccines. VOTE. VOTE on election day. (not earlier)

The testing was done by putting some corona virus on a piece of cheese in a mouse trap. Darn near 80% died almost immediately

Any lab that does this the of research should have a specially trained military component attached to it with strict & redundant procedures to minimize the potential release of the virus.

The safety team to ensure the virus doesn't get into the general population is composed of 3 blacks whose lives matter, 3 shrill lesbians, 2 transexuals, and a homeless illegal alien. With that much diversity, it is racist, sexist, and probably treason to question the safety of these experiments

Unbelievably irresponsible. The scientific community has lost all sense of what responsible research entails. Shut this research down now. Who could possibly believe this is a good idea?

Boston University has given us AOC, and now an equally deadly organism. If we gave them a huge government grant, would they close?

Enough!!!!
Congress should immediately pass legislation to end all research (both in this country and funded by this country elsewhere) that can makes dangerous viruses more dangerous to animals or humans.
This is exactly how covid started, thanks to Fauci funded research!

New York and Chicago rats are immune to kryptonite. The human kind are susceptible to daylight, honesty and existing laws that are currently not enforced.
