OPEC+ Energy Ministers Agree to 2 Million
Barrel Cut to Oil Production

Original Article

A panel of energy ministers of the OPEC+ alliance of oil-exporting countries on Wednesday agreed to recommend a historically large cut in output, a stinging rebuke to the Biden administration that is likely to mean higher prices at gas pumps in the United States and Europe. The alliance, which is led by Saudi Arabia and includes Russia, is meeting in Vienna to negotiate the largest production cut since the pandemic first struck. The energy ministers who comprise the cartel’s Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee recommended a cut of two million barrels per day in the group’s overall production. A final decision will be voted on later on Wednesday.

It is interesting that this may be just recognizing what they have already been doing. Apparently OPEC has been producing far less than they planned/promised to produce, according to some sources.

Often, I derive inspiration for my writing from songs — certain titles or lyrics just seem to wander into my brain and jangle around it until I find a way (and the time) to sort them out on the page. Ringo Starr’s “It Don’t Come Easy” has been doing just that of late (not the lyrics, just the title) as it relates to the concept of change — particularly changing minds. I’ve been thinking a lot about political discourse — how fractious and perilous it most always seems to be. We’re a far cry from the spirited — but generally good-natured — debates I recall from my younger days.

Hunter Biden’s financial dealings and overseas exploits uncovered on the infamous laptop exposed by The Post could possibly be used by prosecutors in their reported tax crimes case against him. When federal authorities kicked off their probe in 2018, investigators were initially looking at whether Hunter and his associates had violated various tax and money laundering laws amid their dealings in China and other foreign countries. While it’s not clear exactly what evidence the feds have, the exploits of President Biden’s 52-year-old son are also in the scope of the federal Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

For years, President Biden repeated the same mantra when asked about Hunter Biden’s influence peddling and alleged crimes: “My son did nothing wrong.” It was always implausible — as was his denial of any knowledge of these dealings despite emails and pictures to the contrary. So the president and the press have been shifting to a new defense. As the father recently insisted of his son, “He fought an addiction problem. He overcame it. He wrote about it.” The family and the media have been cultivating the angle for months as they anticipated possible criminal charges.

Joe Biden is destroying the American economy more and more as each day passes. This morning the jobs report came out from the US Labor Department and it wasn’t good. Hotair reported: The jobs report looks decent on its own — but the trendlines are all going the wrong way. The US economy added 263,000 jobs in September, the lowest level in more than a year, and a miss even off the lowered expectations of 275,000 by forecasters. (Tweet)

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is accusing Google of suppressing more than 22 million campaign emails since September, by sending them to users’ spam folders, and is now considering legal action against the tech giant. Google, which insists party affiliation plays no role in determining which emails get sent to the spam folder, launched an FEC-approved program to ensure campaign emails reached users’ main inboxes under pressure from Republicans. But the RNC, which shared data from its email campaigns with Fox News Digital, says this has not resolved the situation, with masses of emails getting spammed by Google at the end of every month.

Arizona's Republican Party and the Republican National Committee have sued Maricopa County officials over poll worker staffing and alleged failure to produce requested records. The suit claims that central count boards in the county have unequal numbers of Democrats and Republicans. It also alleges Maricopa County has not fully complied with records requests about poll workers. "Poll workers staffing voting centers in Maricopa County in the August 2, 2022, primary election consisted in the aggregate of 857 Democrats and 712 Republicans," the lawsuit said. "At least eleven voting centers operated in Maricopa County during the August 2, 2022, primary election lacked even a single Republican poll worker."

President Biden on Friday called several Republicans "socialists" after a report revealed they applied for funding contained in the president's signature $1.2 trillion infrastructure law, after voting against the legislation in the House. Biden said during a Friday speech in Hagerstown, Maryland, on the state of the economy that he "was surprised to see so many socialists in the Republican caucus" after he read a report detailing Republican applications for infrastructure funds. It noted that several Republicans in Congress referred to the infrastructure bill as a form of socialism, then asked the Department of Transportation to utilize these infrastructure funds in their districts.
