On May 5, two Florida state officials traveled to Orlando to meet with the leadership of Disney’s self-governing district. Two weeks earlier, Gov. Ron DeSantis had abolished the district in retaliation for Disney’s opposition to a law that restricts classroom instruction on LGBTQ identity – known to critics as “Don’t Say Gay.”
The two officials – one of them the chief deputy counsel in DeSantis’ office — went to figure out what the state was getting into. The leaders of the Reedy Creek Improvement District showed them a PowerPoint detailing their responsibilities for a 54-megawatt power plant, 65 miles of canals, various roads and pedestrian bridges, and a fire department

This is telling Hollywood that Disney, recognizing that it is the 'weak horse,' is negotiating its surrender to Florida. From a political standpoint the $ donations to entities such as Equity Florida, and the (cheap) words of occasional support to some of its junior staff pale in comparison to this apparent in-kind support to the policies of Ron DeSantis' Florida. It recognizes reality.

I'll be totally staying away from all things Disney from now on. Cannot be reversed.

I'm thinking a significant tax increase for the landowner(s) of the Reddy Creek Improvement District will be in order at some time in the near future to cover the increased expenses that the District has been successful in pushing off on neighboring taxing entites.

Disney stock down 42% in the last year, from $175 to $101. The damage is done, and the decline will continue. At local stores, I have seen Disney merchandise in clearance bins.

Well, the first order of business should be to shut down that power plant. I mean, for the children, ya know.

Variety continues to spout the "Don't Say Gay" falsehood. They apparently have not learned their lesson.

Disney hasn’t changed. The people who enabled homosexual agendas at Disney are still there, in management positions. Their employees are still getting arrested for attempting to engage in sex with minors, and being involved with kiddie porn. They’re a bunch of weirdo perverts. DeSantis needs to keep the heat on Disney, and the rest of us need to stay away from their films, theme parks and cable channel.

#8, Disney has been sexually grooming its child stars for decades. Brittney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus, to name a few, started out as "wholesome models for young girls", but became steadily sluttier as they reached adulthood.

What is most telling are the comments at the end (13 at the time of this post). Variety is a totally leftist rag and the slant can be readily seen in this article. Yet, ALL of the comments are pro DeSantis, pro legislation and pro Florida (well, maybe one is not, but that is debatable).

No. You dont ruin childrens lives, say I'm sorry and all is forgiven and forgotten. They are unwelcome in my house, and I wouldn't go to their pedophile parks if it was free. May they and their alphabet perverts rot in poverty forever.

The answer is too easy for them to comprehend: Stop pushing depravity. They'll never get it and for this reason, Disney is dead to us. Not a moment - not a dime.

About 25 years ago (or so), we took our kids to both Disney parks (Land and World). They were so much fun. "The happiest place on Earth" really did apply. I dreamed of the day when our grandkids would be old enough to go and we could take them all. There were beautiful princesses and handsome princes. Nothing "woke". Nothing perverted. Just (very expensive) fun like Walt Disney had planned.
But in those subsequent 25 years, they have become a "woke" child-grooming den of perverts. I can guarantee you that Disney will never see another penny of our money, and we will never step foot through their gates again!!!! Based on their crashing numbers, I see we are not alone!!!

The hits just keep coming for Disney.. all self inflicted. "Gee, that's too bad."
Soon the only people who will go to their overpriced falling down parks will be Liberal parents who wish to sexualize and groom their kids asap and the pedos these parents will gleefully hand their kids over to and of course the perpetual Peter Pans who refuse to grow up but have money to burn (these are some of Disney's new favorites btw, these 20 and 30 something childless things buy ALL Disney's China made crap "collectibles" to impress their followers on Instagram, pathetic).

I think, for truth in advertising, Disney should just change the name of the park in Cuba-fornia to "Sodom-land" and the park in Florida to "Gomorrah-world"!!!
As long as they are honest about it, I think Disney should just embrace their evil!!! Why hide it anymore?!?!?!? There are enough lie-berals out there that just love evil that would probably keep them in business...

The only Disney I follow is the Disney I grew up with. I just stick with watching everything Disney before the late 1970s - early 1980s (original TRON) and Disney Pixar movies (like Toy Story, The Incredibles, Up, WALL-E, Moana, etc.) The moment they go woke or show signs of wokeness I immediately exclude them from our family viewing selections. My kids are almost grown (one's 17, the other's 12) and starting to lose interest in all things Disney. The only other Disney activities we still indulge in are Disney Cruises and they're getting too expensive with the quality of amenities and on board services noticeably declining as well. I'd be totally content not doing anything Disney soon.
