Sen. Chuck Schumer wants $290M to help
fight deadly ‘rainbow fentanyl’

Original Article

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Sunday he wants almost $300 million in federal funding to fight “rainbow fentanyl”—highly-addictive pills that look like candy and could have a devastating effect on young people. The $290 million in funds would be used to sustain 61 Overdose Response Strategy teams that would help try to curb fentanyl, including the new “rainbow” kind, the New York Democrat said at a press conference. “This is fentanyl, this is a Sweetart—you tell me the difference,” Schumer said while holding up pictures of both the deadly pills and the tangy sweets. “Halloween is coming up… this is really worrisome and really dangerous.”

Comments:

If ever there was a cause for federal funding of a local problem, it's "rainbow fentanyl," which might not even exist. Especially federal funding to a state whose voters demand that criminals must not be punished and that the US border must remain open so Mexican traffickers and their illegal alien partners can import more fentanyl.

Math time! Ask for $290m, final bill is $500m. 500m - 50m: 10% for the Big Guy = 450m - 100m: 20% for Hunter's partying = 350m - 50m: 10% for Hunter's rehab = 300m - 50m: 10% for Hunter's party when he gets out of rehab = 250m - 100m: 2.5% for each of Hunter's kids with underage Chinese sex slaves = 150m - 148m: 28% for DNC Senatorial re-election campaigns = 2m - 2m: the rest for building a wall around Chuck's house Yet another DNC math success!

We lost the war on drugs a long time ago. You cannot stop anyone who wants an illegal drug from getting it.. They will find it and they will take it. I know many will scream but I think legalize all of it and require people to go to a clinic or some sort of place set up to counsel them but if they still want it, sell it to them. We will never stop it so maybe trying to get control would work.

#12 Catherine. Please reconsider what you said about legalizing illegal drugs. The places where that has been tried, the cities/towns have become hellholes. Look at San Francisco where the city is handing out drugs, hotel rooms, etc. Has the problem gotten better? No! Worse! Fentanyl is a Murder Weapon surely as a gun held to a person's head. Fentanyl along with other opiates with mental illness and you have a recipe for destruction. Destruction of a person's life, his family's life and on and on as a ripple effect on a society. Surely you don't want a society that is brain damaged, unable to function in any capacity as drug addition becomes worse and worse? I speak as a family member that has seen the devastation that illegal drugs has done to a younger generation and in particular, young men in our family. Last year 108,000 died from fentanyl mostly in the age group of 18-40 years old.

Close the leaky border. That would help plenty. The democrats are causing this problem with their border policy. Typical democrat. They cannot get to the root of the problem if it goes against the party’s policy stance. China is supplying raw fentanyl material to the Mexican cartels who make and ship it across the leaky border. So it is going to take death of 6 year olds with Skittle fentanyl laced knock offs to get people’s attention about the severity of the border crisis. How Sad.

Every time Americans pay taxes in for something, it is swallowed up and used for something else. Then, when the politicians want something, they ask for money, as if taxpayers have not already been charged. Americans have paid for the roads about 100 times over, but still have no roads.

In her first speech as Boston Fed president, Collins said the economy is resilient enough to withstand the higher interest rates needed to combat inflation, which is near a four-decade high. Her comments echoed similar remarks from Raphael Bostic, president of the Atlanta Fed, on Sunday. Fed Chair Jerome Powell has also said that fighting inflation would cause “pain” for households and businesses.

On reading about the Saturday arrest of pro-life activist Mark Houck, I thought the author at this alternative site had to be exaggerating. I have had to recalibrate my belief system. The “crime” fell quite a bit short of murder. Trump, should he decide to run, can count on residual loyalty. DeSantis can appeal to voters as a younger, more vital, less controversial, and arguably more politically savvy alternative. Trump commands attention, but that attention tends to draw focus to himself. DeSantis commands attention, but
