J.P. Morgan Chase chief Jamie Dimon on Wednesday rejected in the strongest terms the idea that the country’s largest banks should stop funding new oil and gas production and exploration.
The chief executive of the largest U.S. bank was testifying before a House panel with other bank executives. Representative Rashida Tlaib, the Michigan Democrat, claimed that preventing temperatures from rising more than 2.7 degrees in the coming decades would require no new fossil fuel production. “Please answer, yes or no. Does your bank have a policy against funding new oil and gas products?” Tlaib asked.
“Absolutely not and that would be the road to Hell for America,” said Dimon.

The Big Green Weenie Dream is a scam on steroids because there is no way to transition to renewables with current technology. It doesn't take genius-level thinking skills to understand this.

Take away the energy component from oil products and you still have hundreds (perhaps thousands) of items you reply on every day that contain a derivative of that same oil. If it is that horrible stop ALL AIRLINE TRAFFIC IMMEDIATELY. These people are asshat stupid.

Once again,
That's the whole point!
Not an accidental, totally unexpected, surprise thing that just happened.
That. Is. The. Plan.

Dem politicians are such idiots. They never recognize the tremendous advances in pollution technology on gas powered cars. The marketplace is a wonderful thing the Dems ignore. The marketplace advances our national interests much better than the Dem politicians could ever do. The idiots think they can make anything happen by their edicts.

I wonder what the banker's angle is. They have to know tranitionong from "fossil fuels" to renewables with current technology would be an economic disaster for the banking industry. The conniving conspirators are up to something

Agree wholeheartedly with #7. Taking America to hell IS the plan. The words are not direct - for now. Not long before they stop even the slightest pretense.

Just because someone is elected to Congress, it does not mean that they are smart. Talib is a prime example. Dimon was letting hr know exactly what would happen if the US stopped funding oil and gas exploration and production. Idiots like Talib are too blinded by their ideology and disdain of banks and corporations to see the consequences of her actions. Ideology over facts, consequences be damned. Useful idiots like Talib, AOC, and the rest of the Squad (and all other Democrats / liberals) claim to care about the "working class". They are too stupid to see that what they are demanding will destroy the working class and the country. Dimon is 100% correct that what Talib wants will put us on the road to hell. Just look at Europe.

Bank of America and JP Morgan have a huge loan portfolio among Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, where the biggest industry is energy. Texas has already indicated they would withdraw all state business from any financial institution that refused lending to the oil and gas industry. Yeah, Texas is very serious about it.

It's not just the energy crisis that would be created, Mr. Dimon. Also think abiut how our food supply would be crippled and mass starvation of Americans will result. Biden the cheater, Klaus, and the Great Reset crowd will have us eating bugs. Such is socialism soon to because communism in Amerika.

Note to Talib and her liberal crew: Oil and gas exploration and production is a legal economic activity which has positive consequences for the country. It also provides a lot of "working class" jobs" and tax revenue for communities. When the oil & gas companies are successful, we are all successful.

Dimon "stood up" for oil companies (and by extension, the auto industry, too) only because they are a proxy for some of the lending income of his bank.
No oil companies, auto makers, auto parts stores, fewer loans....less lending income.
Of course, there's always the outside chance that he was also concerned about the catastrophic destruction of the American economy that would result...there's always that.

I learned a long while back that you don't mess with the banking institutions. As she suggested every student to take the money from J.P Morgan Chase and close out their accounts, what's to keep old fish mouth from getting her account canceled and her money going into escrow until she finds a local credit union to make a transfer?
