Thank you. Proud to be a refuge of sanity in a world gone mad, we’re holding down the fort. (Snip) It’s said that our federalist system creates laboratories of democracy where different states can approach things in different ways. But I don’t think we’ve ever seen such sharp contrast between different governing philosophies as we have in the last few years. It brings to mind a debate that three of our founding fathers actually had over what was the world’s oldest profession. The debate was between Benjamin Rush, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin.

Comments:

This is long but well worth reading. It’s the speech DeSantis gave at the National Conservatism Conference in Miami earlier this month.

The past generation had several great populist conservative leaders who were blocked, muted or diverted from higher levels of service so that the globalist country club wall street republicans, who blocked Goldwater, who tried to block reagan, who hate Trump and hate any small government message now articulated by DeSantis as well. But the Bushies inherted the Reagan legacy and choose to rule as what Palin so aptly labled "Crony Capitalism". Could have been Jack Kemp, he was stunted, Fred Thompson, Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin, even Steve Forbes would have been great leaders for the small government Republicans. Pat Buchanon in 1992 warned of the failings of big government republicanism of Bush and he was right. McCain the populist was maligned only to be resurrected as a big government convert. Bobby Jindal. Rick Santorum. Sarah Palin. All vilified and destroyed by the republican establishment to perpetuate the mediocrity of big government of Bushes and Romney and tolerable democrats. If you don't like Trump, his political rise was because a vacuum exists in the republican party elitie. And Paul Ryan,if you are reading this thinking that you can wait it out and become the next shiny thing, you can stop doing your PX90 workouts. The return to American exceptionalism doesn't run past your house.

If you want to change the way your government works, you need two amendments. 1. age limit - if the governors think 65-72 is old enough for you, it's old enough for them. 2. net worth limit - no one over, say, $10M total personal wealth can hold any public office. Get some of the grift off the table...

Great Speech! The thing about it, he's not lying! He did everything he said he did! We were able to live like we were in a Bubble! No Masks if we didn't want one, stores open, Restaurants open (a lot of them did a huge Take Out Business for those not ready to eat inside), but the thing is, they stayed open! DeSantis is a Guy with a lot of Common Sense and he gives as good as he gets from the Libs. We love him!

Absolutely right No. 1. When I was a child I remember my father saying he was a "Goldwater Republican." I didn't understand what that meant then. I knew my father didn't like George Bush and neither did President Reagan.

The philosophers that influenced the Founding Fathers like John Locke and John Stuart Mill understood that liberal republics (individual property with freedom, minimum government power) required that the voters (originally only men with property) had to be educated in history, civics, law, and philosophy to a sufficient degree to participate in politics without just voting their selfish interests. When I was growing up we had requirements at the 8th grade level through high school to read the Federalist Papers, study the state and federal Constitution, understand separation of powers and check and balances, read some Locke and Aristotle, and know how a bill became a law without watching Schoolhouse Rock cartoons. I don't think this level of "liberal arts" education is even available anymore at the university level in most states. This was by design, not accident. The liberal elites realized that if the population was ignorant of anything other than the movies and TV pablum they were fed they would accept their servitude with a smile. There plan has worked perfectly as measured by the people who watch Joy Reid and most of cable news and think they understand what is happening. This is what is dividing us today, informed, educated citizens versus infantilized sheep led to their slaughter by elite wolves.

The globalists directed Reagan into a choice between Bush and Gerald Ford. Ford was basically a Democrat. That was a rough choice for the Gipper, but he got his picture taken with Ford and Nelson Rockefeller, signaling they were on board with his choice of Bush.

Loved this speech! Found it so interesting what he said about the incoming population to Florida - that Dems used to have majority registration and now Republicans do. I moved out of the SF Bay Area and my Real Estate agent (a closet conservative) told me all she was doing during 2020 - 2021 was move conservatives out of the neighborhood and liberals in. All of the move-outs were headed to Red states or Red areas. I spoke with her about a month ago and she said not a single conservative has moved into the old neighborhood that she knows of. (For those that think we can’t know - if you are conservative in a very liberal area it becomes necessary for your very survival to be able to tell.) It is Conservative Flight! Haha # 5 about your observation concerning “the people who watch Joy Reid … and think they know what is happening.” Haha - you just described my very well-educated liberal siblings! Dead on!

GREAT speech! Tried texting relevant parts to a friend and the text became so long, too many valuable things to point out. I did enjoy the story about the world's oldest profession. Believe we will be hearing this speech again during election times. Other Republican Governors take note. You can learn a lot from this man.

When Did Trump Change His Mind about Lockdowns? 1 reply

All sources we have so far testify that Trump greenlighted nationwide lockdowns the weekend of March 14-15, 2020, under the influence of Deborah Birx, Anthony Fauci, Jared Kushner, and a few others. Brownstone has documented this weekend in great detail. This disastrous decision culminated in the press conference of March 16, 2020. At this event the White House handed out a sheet of paper to the national media with the shocking demands: • “Governors should close schools in communities that are near areas of community transmission, even if those areas are in neighboring states.” • “All states should follow Federal guidance and halt social visits to nursing homes and retirement and long-term

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' office responded to the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of the migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by immigration lawyers and activists by showing the migrants signed consent forms. The lawsuit claims the flights were "a premeditated, fraudulent, and illegal scheme centered on exploiting [the migrants] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests." "It is opportunistic that activists would use illegal immigrants for political theater, (Snip) said DeSantis' office on Tuesday. "The transportation of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was done on a voluntary basis. The immigrants were homeless, hungry, and abandoned – and these activists didn’t care about them then,"

In February, then-Foreign Secretary Liz Truss flew to Moscow on a government jet to warn Vladimir Putin not to invade Ukraine. She donned a Russian-style fur hat—just as her heroine, Margaret Thatcher, did when she visited the Russian capital 35 years ago. Truss posed for a picture on Red Square. She took part in a wreath-laying ceremony. She had a tense meeting with Sergei Lavrov, the cartoonishly nasty Russian foreign minister. And she got nowhere. Lavrov mocked her. So did Britons back home. They called her an imbecile. (Snip) She had built her career without advertising it—maneuvering around the corridors of power while quietly, studiously keeping her eye

According to Newsom’s office, the commission will “assess data on hate crimes in California, provide resources for victims, and make policy recommendations to better protect civil rights.” The commission aims to help all Californians, but Newsom has nominated a slate of Democrats and activists—without including a single Republican—to serve on it. Worse, one of the top nominees has a history at the Southern Poverty Law Center. Those four words should send a shiver down the spine of conservatives.

Trump commands attention, but that attention tends to draw focus to himself. DeSantis commands attention, but
