The Queen has completed her final and saddest journey to Westminster Hall today with King Charles, his three siblings and his sons Prince William and Prince Harry following her coffin as the Royal Family handed her coffin to the nation.
At 2.22pm Her Majesty was carried down The Mall on a gun carriage - a tradition dating back to the death of her great-grandmother Queen Victoria in 1901 - as her children, grandchildren and other senior royals marched behind in time to a funeral march.
Her Majesty arrived at Westminster Hall 38 minutes later at 3pm - where she was placed on a catafalque - a raised platform,

Beautiful Traditions! I have to admit I have watched, and will watch, all of it! This is History in the Making! I'm 81, so I have followed the Queen for many, many years. She was One of a Kind. I'm afraid King Charles will disappoint The Brits as well as those of us in the U.S. But, time will tell. He can't be any worse than the Guy we call President in our own country. Fortunately, we can vote him out in 2024. The Brits are stuck with Charles, well, until we see another Ceremony like today's!

sooo...they returned to horses drawing the caisson?
I was intrigued by the tradition of 150 sea cadets pulling it...after the horses got skittish and were a danger of bolting, and a formation of nearby cadets stepped up and said "We will do it". 3 or four funerals ago.

The world has lost a tremendously bright light with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. It is time to mourn and reflect. It is also a time to be aware of the future with Charles III as King. He is a disciple of Klaus Schwab.

I cannot imagine how all these ceremonies gets coordinated. And it seems to all fall into place without any hiccups.

I actually felt sorry for King Charles (typing that is quite jarring). He is showing every year of his age, and looked like he was going to keel over a few times in the service. The BBC feed cut away every time he wobbled, but I fully expected to see him sprawled out on the floor before it was over.

A great lady and a terrific career.
Honestly, one week past her death and having had plenty of pomp and tributes, isn't it time to lower the casket and move on?

"Just lower the casket and move on"???
She deserves at LEAST as much ceremonial pomp and consideration as John McCain...or George Floyd.

Exactly #8. Queen Elizabeth deserves more than McCrash and Fentanyl Floyd got. Didn't the former get four funerals and the latter get buried in a gold, platinum and adamantium coffin? Both instances were ridiculous especially the stupidity of the Floyd mess.

Hubby and I are Anglophiles and will be getting up at 5:30am on Monday to watch the funeral.
When Queen Elizabeth was coronated, I was 6 months old. The world feels even more off-kilter with her absence.

#10 - I got up early this morning to see the procession and service, and will get up early on Monday as well. I also have a Union Jack flying in memory of HM QEII.

Oh yes #1, our family still in Scotland and three regions of rural England. This hits close for us and the passing of not only a dear dear Queen but an era. Nobody does tradition like our Brits.
I pray for King Charles III and his siblings especially today. He has been wonderful the last few days and working nonstop. I know our relatives are there in the crowd and I look forward to their photos, videos and stories from this historic and emotional time.

Seeing the participation of Harry and Meghan in this beautiful & respectful, traditional pageantry of the ceremonial events honoring Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II this week brought to mind how easily it seemed for Harry to turn his back on it all, including the relationship with his family. He apparently did not even schedule a visit with his 96 year old grandmother, the Queen, in his trip itinerary. He just happened to be here when she died. But, sadly, not a different attitude to the frailty of his grandfather before his death.
It was as though he and Meghan wanted to use the trip as another means to try and denigrate the RF by basking in their own contrived celebrity. That, along with his many deliberate and varied attacks against the RF, diminishes him to an even lower level of regard by comparison, especially under present circumstances. It made his being there with Meghan seem somewhat hypocritical considering he apparently only participated with them after the request of his father & brother to honor his grandmother with a show of unity, and not out of his own humble volition.
It’s one thing to decide that you no longer want to be affiliated with an historical (and, yes, humanly flawed) institution, and then choose to go your own way. It’s quite another to spitefully and vengefully attempt to destroy it out of pique (and perhaps greedy influences).
Time will tell whether his grandmother’s death will bring new perspective and reconciliation, or a doubling down on the determination to build a cheap, but lucrative, celebrity at the expense of the genuine and historical, that he appears to have been convinced to sully and use as a tool build that celebrity.
The divisive animosity of that touches much and many more than his own chosen targets. There is no justification for a book airing family grievances. Hopefully, he will have the character to choose reconciliation even if it risks Meghan’s displeasure for a time. His grandmother is evidence that he was raised to be a better person than he has shown himself to be in recent times. Prayers for them all.

We don’t want them back in Royal life #13, part of the family is fine and their business but we don’t need to see her clutching at Harry everywhere they go. Go back to the US and live the quiet lives they want and visit on holidays,

Understandable, #14. He has made his choice regarding participation in Royal life.
Hopefully, he will make the choice to reconcile with family apart from that and forego the attention getting attacks that have become a main source of income, as well as celebrity.
He may never reign in the RF, but perhaps he can overcome the age difference and reverse the position of reigning as a man in his own personal family.

#14, from your name I gather that you’re Australian. You don’t want them back in royal life and we don’t want them back here in the US. Perhaps they can go live in Sri Lanka where their environmentalism is being put into (devastating) practice.
