Biden ruins a perfectly decent 9/11 speech

Listening to Joe Biden give a speech always makes me feel a bit nauseated, so I try to read his speeches. The White House website, which does a good job of preserving his every official utterance, allowed me to read his remarks on Sunday at the Pentagon's ceremony observing the 21st anniversary of the day al-Qaeda terrorists attacked America. It was almost a decent speech, right up until the end, when he dragged in political correctness and partisan politics — and that spoiled the whole thing. Biden's speechwriters lack talent, and he is no orator. Nevertheless, three quarters of the "Remarks by President Biden at 9/11 Memorial Ceremony"

TaliBiden couldn’t rise to the occasion and practice some decency long before the dementia set in. It’s not in him to be gracious and it never will be. BTW, thanks Andrea, for using the correct word - nauseated. Everyone seems to use the word “nauseous” these days without having a clue what they are actually saying.

He is vile and insulting, and by inflicting politics into this speech he dishonored all those we lost and continue to lose from that tragic day. Myorkis also did the same thing, he too is a vile little piece of excrement of a man. Oh and include clueless Kamala also.

On August 8, for the first time in U.S. history, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the residence of a former president, Donald J. Trump. That home invasion invites another first for America: a sudden and thorough search of FBI headquarters, with bureau bosses and their lawyers barred from the premises and from contact with anyone inside. Under these conditions, a crack team of independent investigators, deploying the latest forensic and high-tech tools, could be turned loose on all FBI files and records. The first thing this team might uncover is recent FBI action in a high-profile whistleblower case. Back on February 21, 2020, Philip Haney,

Germany’s economy and climate minister has angrily lashed out at Angela Merkel’s party, accusing it of being responsible for “16 years of energy policy failure”. While the ongoing gas crisis across Europe gets steadily worse, political tensions in Germany appear to be growing, with the country’s economic and climate minister, Robert Habeck, angrily lashing out at his political rivals in the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the party of former chancellor Angela Merkel. Despite having been warned by then-President Donald Trump that relying on Russia

We’ve already seen how graceless the hateful left can be in their reaction to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but “Squad Member” Rep. Pramila Jayapal takes the cake with this one: [Tweet] There were 2,977 killed in the twin towers and at the Pentagon that day. How does Jayapal get the 2,996 figure? By adding in the 19 hijackers. Pretty clear whose side she’s on. UPDATE: Jayapal has deleted the Tweet. Maybe she got a phone call from Nancy Pelosi telling her not to be an idiot that embarrasses other Democrats? On the menu today: You may have heard about that Democratic county official in Nevada whom police have arrested on suspicion of murdering a reporter. But you probably didn’t hear about the Democratic campaign consultant in New Jersey who pled guilty to conspiracy and murder-for-hire earlier this year. And only those who closely follow politics are likely to have heard about the Democratic mega-donor from California who lured men into his apartment and injected them with methamphetamine in exchange for sex, leading to two fatal overdoses. I think we’re starting to see why some in that party were so enthusiastic about the notion of abolishing the police. Last month,

“Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96.” So announced news programs the world over. Monarchs give their names to eras, labels that historians assign to stretches of collective memory. Elizabeth gave hers to nearly three generations; she became queen in 1952, when Harry Truman was still president. The unchanging label gave the illusion of continuity to a period of immense change. The Cold War, its hopeful aftermath and eventual collapse into new geopolitical rivalries — all the seas of trouble — were all encompassed by this single linguistic device. For decades she seemed permanent, and her passing is a sign of our own inherent mutability.

"For here we are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it." That's Thomas Jefferson, the Father of the University of Virginia, describing his beloved institution's creed to English historian William Roscoe. I think it is also a fitting description of the American Thinker community, who often tussle with difficult stories because that is where the truth takes us. Several members of the community recently focused my attention on the plight of J6 political prisoner Jonathan Mellis, who has already spent nineteen months in the American Gulag for the "crime"

Please pause for a moment and say a prayer for the vulnerable and terrified Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Mars), a key member of Amerikkka’s marginalized community of color. So marginalized, despised, discriminated against, and harassed is AOC that she had to take to the pages of GQ, that plucky, ragtag samizdat mouthpiece of the people, to explain just how marginalized and harassed she is. In a loving interview topped with lavish glamor shots of the rising political star, a teary-eyed AOC revealed that there is such a tidal wave of misogyny in the evil, MAGA-ridden United States today that she isn’t even sure she will live through the month of September.

Because most people don’t know a farmer personally anymore, everyone should realize that they don’t make piles of money producing our food. A good year can be followed by three bad ones, and 2022 has been a burden. Between record heat waves in the U.S. and abroad, droughts in the middle of the country, fertilizer shortages, and rising costs for just about every farm input, many American farms are on the brink. Everyone will feel the pinch in continued food price increases and shortages at the store. As bad as the agricultural outlook is in America, it is far worse in Europe. Cast your mind back to Thanksgiving in 2020 and 2021, when J. Edgar Fauci was telling us that we could only have something like six people over for dinner, preferably eating outside, and all socially-distanced by at least twelve turkey-lengths, or 0.2 furlongs or something. Someone promptly produced a meme of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer saying, “No one is going to tell me how many people I can have for dinner on Thanksgiving!” Tasteless and sick, to be sure. Also pretty funny. And not really new. I remember that after the initial shock and horror of Dahmer’s crimes were discovered 25 years ago, the comics got to work with tasteless jokes

Ars Technica has an interesting story that does a fine job of pointing out the huge disconnect between the experts’ predictions of a vicious hurricane season and the welcome lack of tropical storms this year. A newly unearthed video shows Charlie Crist, the Democratic nominee for Florida governor, comparing himself to Jesus Christ and calling Republican governor Ron DeSantis “DeSatan.” The video, which was shared by DeSantis’s campaign on Monday, is from a March 17 event, according to the Daily Caller. Crist suggested the race for governor in the Sunshine State is about “decency” and “being kind to everyone” before saying of DeSantis, “You know some people call him DeSatan? Have you heard that?” “DeSatan versus that,” Crist said, gesturing to a sign behind him featuring his own name, and one of the event attendees said, “Christ!” Crist responded, “Oh think about it! Boom!”

Republicans/conservatives are in the habit of repeating the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over, and never learning from their mistakes, much less changing tactics. Graham’s office has not divulged any details on what the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act entails ahead of the announcement. Graham has repeatedly introduced bills banning abortion

The major stock market indexes tumbled on Tuesday after a key measure of inflation came in worse than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 900 points, for a 2.8 percent decline. The S&P 500 dropped 3.2 percent, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 4.1 percent. The drop, which undid a week worth of gains, came after the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 8.3 percent in August compared to the same time last year and increased 0.1 percent from the previous month. The rise was worse than the 8.1 percent increase that economists had expected, according to Dow Jones estimates. The month-to-month figure

It has often been used an instrument of intimidation, even terror, against political foes, and those who might not be so enthusiastic about paying income taxes, or simply have a financial hardship that limits their ability to pay.
