Sen. Lindsey Graham is set to introduce a new nationwide “late-term” abortion ban Tuesday—fewer than three months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and just two months out from the midterm elections, where the issue is likely to be front and center.
The South Carolina Republican is expected to call for a ban on most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy at a press conference with anti-abortion leaders, the Washington Post reported.
Graham’s office has not divulged any details on what the Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act entails ahead of the announcement. Graham has repeatedly introduced bills banning abortion

Graham continues to prove himself a clueless idiot on just about everything. Per SCOTUS ruling, abortion is a state responsibility to determine whether it will be allowed in that particular state. It is not a Federal responsibility. What a numbnuts Graham is.

The entire point of the Dobbs decision was that abortion policy is none of the Federal Government's business, it is a matter for each state to decide for themselves. What about that is so hard for the nincompoops on both sides of the congressional aisle to understand?

Graham is such a Dunce! It is up to the STATES to decide. Not Mr. Graham! I guess he's run out of things to throw at Trump, so now he needs something to make it look like he's actually putting in a few Hours at work!

The Feds should have NO say over what you do with your body. Personally, I think that abortion is murder-seeing as how an innocent child who had no say in who their parents are ends up paying for the indiscretions of the copulating couple-but it's just my solitary opinion. The majority should be allowed to make up the rules, so l'd just leave this in the hands of the states

Inflation, crime, recession, a border invasion, $31 trillion in federal debt, 1 in 5 American families struggling with costs of energy & food, Biden’s vicious attacks on Americans, the use of the FBI as Gestapo and a DoJ that only focuses on smashing Trump as well doctors and hospitals that don’t want to provide gender reassignment surgery, and Lady Lindsey focuses on limiting abortions? He is far beyond the “stupid party” when it comes to actual issues we care about. The Supreme Court has decided that the states should decide abortion rules, not the Constitution, so Graham, keep away from this issue.
The irony is that Lindsey will never have to face the moral and ethical issues of an unwanted pregnancy, yet he wants to rule on it anyway.

Gee, Lindsey. Ignite the Democrat base. Don't you dare talk about gas prices, food prices, CPI, interest rates, crime, DOJ, FBI, INVADER "immigration", etc. While Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell decides what ties to wear the remainder of the week. The Demented Fuhrer can always count on Lindsey and the other RINO's to sabotage the Red Wave.

Legislation that has 0.0% of being signed into law and a 100% chance of improving Democrats' fundraising and voter turnout. Dems needed a White Knight to save the day and in rides Lindsey.

Personally, I don't care one way or the other about abortion. But I DO care about inflation, 87,000 IRS agents, the deep state abuses of power, and about 100 other things that require stopping the dims. Limpsey is trying to defeat the MAGA crop of candidates.

If you were to pick one issue to split the republican base so as to say, prevent the GOP from taking house and senate with the support of the populist conservative base, this would be how you do it. And they , the Republican National Committee, know this. To keep Trump out of the White House in 2024, they need to lose in 2022, and then blame him, so that Mitch and the Chinese globalists can continue the rapid and deliberate destruction of the national republic. This is not stupid, it is nefarious and deliberate. And Lindsey Graham gets it both ways, as is his preference apparently.

Graham often elbows his way past the Turtle as Example A of why it is so hard to argue for our side against the lunacy of the Left. This is a Uniparty move, not for policy, not for what is best for our Nation and her citizens - but for political position and maneuvering. And the sinister thing is - this flies in the face of the rationale of the SC recent decision and is NOT the position what we want. WHY now, why this?

This is merely fundraising imo and I do not support it. These issues belong at the state level per the way the US Constitution works - we don't even have a federal ban on murder. What is needed around this issue is discussion and creative ways forward and understanding. That is the very thing we do need. That is the state level.

Graham doesn't really want to win, does he?
If this isn't enough, he should try banning sex outside of marriage. Try banning contraceptives too!
Both are sins, you know.
It has to be done for the greater good. Wouldn't want to make God angry, would we?

He must already know that there is no Constitutional basis for any law like this. If he tries to assert the 14th amendment equal protection clause as the basis it will require a SCOTUS decision to determine when a fetus has a right to life. They would never hear this type of case based on any stare decisis precedent.
He's either grandstanding again for the benefit of his constituents or he is trying to blunt the potential MAGA wave in November.

in 2007 The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of "The Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003" enacted November 5, 2003, 18 U.S.C. § 1531, in the case of Gonzales v. Carhart.
The existing federal law prohibits only a form of late termination of pregnancy called "partial-birth abortion", referred to in medical literature as intact dilation and extraction. Under this law, any physician "who, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, knowingly performs a partial-birth abortion and thereby kills a human fetus shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partial-Birth_Abortion_Ban_Act
This law can be expanded to include all abortions after the end of the 2nd trimester except pregnancies that are thereafter threatening the life of the pregnant woman. Two semesters are a sufficient span of time regarding pregnancies resulting from rape and/or incest.

Isn’t that just like Graham to pick abortion as an issue to focus on, when inflation is sky high, when conservatives are being persecuted and thrown in jail for political reasons, when the market is totally screwed, and when Democrats are picking a REAL fight with conservatives in order to lure them into being jailed for political reasons. We’re rapidly going downhill as a free nation, and HE picks a safe fight about abortion. Wuss.

Absurd. And I'm pro-life. The whole point of the SCOTUS ruling was that the Fed has no jurisdiction on this issue.

This could backfire Ms. Lyndsey's effort to suppress GOP turnout & rile up the leftist GOTV. As mentioned on Charlie Kirk's show today, a large red wave will bring in Republicans in blue states making the largest congressional voting block more centrist & accommodating. All MAGA needs is a significant House majority (with newly elected America 1st reps) to have any hope of change within the first few months after Jan' 23.

My mother had a word for the likes of Lindsay Graham: effeminate. A half century ago that's what amounted to a euphemism. Graham must be a closeted ... Democrat.

It's not a federal issue either way. Ms. Graham knows this, but if it helps energize crazed Democrats to go out and vote in November, then it's a win for opportunistic scoundrels like Ms. Graham.
