A day after President Joe Biden's student debt relief plan was widely panned by Republicans, the White House Twitter account fired back, tweeting about GOP lawmakers who had Paycheck Protection Plan loans "forgiven."
The account pointed out that Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example, had $183,504 in PPP loans forgiven. This after Greene appeared on television saying, "for our government just to say OK, your debt is completely forgiven ... it's completely unfair."
They fail to realize that it's normal to take a loan but the loan has to be returned!
The White House also took shots at Rep. Vern Buchanan, who had more than $2.3 million in PPP loans forgiven
While the WH is having a Twitter meltdown comparing Student Debt to PPP:
1. PPP was a law passed by Congress vs. an unconstitutional Presidential decree.
2. PPP was for businesses to survive while the government shut them down.
3. Student loans were a choice. The pandemic wasn’t.

It just goes to show, when the government offers to ''help'' you, don't accept it. There will be strings attached.
PPP was voted into law as part of pandemic relief. Biden's student loan boondoggle was not brought before congress, because he knew it would not pass.

Simple solution to being 'outed'. Don't take the loans and default them to the taxpayers. Then you have some high ground to stand on. Otherwise, you're no better than D'oh and the dims.

My question would be why are senators and congressmen taking government loans. Their 'employees' are paid government workers, aren't they? If they are running a business, that's not good either because they are elected by the people and that should be their job.

Just the DC swamp feeding at the trough. All very unseemly. They are all hypocrites, but we knew that already.

#4, perhaps you should reread #1. The terms of the PPP loans were clear from the beginning, as were those of student loans. There’s plenty of room for moral high ground for those who understand and play by the rules that were set ahead of time. Without those PPP loans, many businesses eases couldn’t have survived.

FTA: "...if the government forces you to shut down your business and provides you just compensation to keep people employed, that’s the same thing as you failing to pay the college loans you voluntarily undertook."
Yes, yes it is the "same thing" in the minds of those who cannot make a distinction - and they are legion. "The man" makes out again, even though the law obligates the money to be spent on specific things and stringent records kept. Everyone wants it-for-tat politics and here is an example of how it looks. It's not anything but to give the boobs the appearance of "other side" hypocrisy so they can come to the "right" conclusion. And soon we will hear some similar "truth" from the other side.

I might have to re-read the article. I seem to have missed Paul Pelosis name and any of the democrats that took millions and didn't pay them back.

#1 nails it.
One was a law passed by Congress and the other is an illegal act by a demented thug who thinks that he is king.

I think they should post a list of EVERY member of Congress who got one. I doubt it was just one party or the other.

MTG probably wasn't the beneficiary of these funds. If she runs a business, those funds were probably used to keep people employed, and to pay utilities and rent - she obviously met the criteria. This is what PPP was intended to do, and passed by congress - as many here have noted.
Biden's student loan fiasco is simply a bribe to get some idiot kids that took out loans for worthless degrees to vote democrat. Nevermind how unfair it all is to those that paid for their kids, or those that already paid their debt. And what about the future? Are college kids starting school now going to be given this windfall? I sure hope somebody, anybody, is challenging this in court. It is unconconstitutional.

Do we get to see a list of people whose college loans are forgiven? I would use the list to screen future employees as I do not wish to hire thieves and irresponsible people.
Who gave the White House access to this information? Isn't this confidential info, like IRS info? Now we can add the SBA and other agencies to the list of politically weaponized government agencies, like the DoJ, FBI, and CIA.

It is really sad with Joe Biden. This is a very childish move on his part. I don't even agree with names being released. It should have been held in a strict confidential manner. Very un-business like. . .

The PPP loans are a drop in the bucket. The deep state has stolen far more. Trillions even.

So Biden knocks Greene for taking a PPP loan but he doesn't say anything about Pelosi's husband getting insider information.

You know the difference between PPP loans that become grants upon certain conditions that she met and student loans that legally never become grants. You are deliberately misleading people. Again. It’s the only thing that you do competently.
