The claim was that they didn’t want the release to prejudice the investigation. But even if they wanted to preserve the investigation, they could still redact parts and/or Garland could just give the rationale for the raid without revealing the rest of the investigation. It’s abundantly clear that former Vice President Mike Pence is going to run for president in 2024. He’s been putting in the leg work lately, with a scheduled trip to New Hampshire coming up. He’s also positioned himself as a Trump foil in the mid-term GOP primaries, taking a contrary position to the former president in several states, most recently in Arizona.
For my part, I think Pence’s pursuit is delusional. There is exactly one person in the GOP who would be palatable to Trump voters if Trump himself weren’t the nominee, and his name is Ron DeSantis.

CNN has cancelled Brian Stelter's Sunday show after new boss Chris Licht vowed to clean up the network, according to Yashar Ali.
Chief media correspondent and Reliable Sources Host is the first casualty of the network after Licht took over in early 2022.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) reportedly told U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart Thursday that it wants the affidavit that authorized a search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home sealed for fear he will destroy documents.
The report, by Mark Meredith of Fox News, came as Reinhart indicated that he was prepared to release portions of the affidavit, giving the DOJ one week to prepare redactions to the text.
