As we reported, Attorney General Merrick Garland moved to block the unsealing of the affidavit which would reveal the reasons for the FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s home. The claim was that they didn’t want the release to prejudice the investigation. But even if they wanted to preserve the investigation, they could still redact parts and/or Garland could just give the rationale for the raid without revealing the rest of the investigation. That is, if he cared about transparency and wanted to reassure the public that this wasn’t all political. But he hasn’t done that. While Garland is trying to keep the affidavit under wraps, we’re seeing “leaks”

Obviously DOJ does not want to make the affidavit public because they KNOW it is filled with a combination of BS and outright lies from a questionable source. While they claim National security and potential harm to their so-called “investigation.” What a crock.

“But it’s hard to argue that there’s a problem with unsealing the affidavit when the FBI appears to be leaking right and left on the subject. How can it endanger national security if they’re already spreading stuff out there?”
All started by the corrupt Clinton Foundation et al, before DJT was even our candidate…

“National security” the term the deep state uses whenever it wants to hide anything and keep their secrets, secret. Who can question it? It is the perfect explanation even if it is a complete falsehood. This is the blanket thrown over any question asked or argument made for transparency and, unfortunately, it works. We certainly cannot count on the judiciary making a ruling against its own agency when they swim together in the waters of the dark swamp. This is such a morass of government corruption concealing its lawless behavior that there appears to be little that can be done about it. The depth of corruption and sheer arrogance of its operation is disgusting to reasonable people, but that very thing is what has kept it going for decades. These people have no fear because no one has ever bucked them until Donald Trump came along. He is the individual standing along the parade route shouting the Emperor has no clothes and for that, he must be destroyed.

The WSJ has always been part of the Enemedia. They are just a little bit more “reserved” about it.

Actually he misspoke, the reason he is blocking release of the affidavit is he wants to preserve the persecution. Those cretins exist in an echo chamber and they don't realize their influence is crumbling. MAGA!

Listening to the Federal Jackboots, its a crime if one criticizes the DOJ/FBI, as it almost certainly puts the lives of careerists in jeopardy at the hands of "looney white supremacists" out there. I swear that I've heard these lines uttered before, in Spanish and other languages, in countries run by dictators where it is criminal to criticize the "all-caring" government.

Question. Does anyone know why Jonathan Turley is still a democrat. It defies logic.

Poster #10, why does anyone with the slightest grain of common sense or real world intelligence remain a democrat?

#6 & #7: The Wall St. Journal has a curious divide between its news side and its "opinion," or editorial side. The news side is quite leftist, the opinion side is much more conservative, with a couple of lefty columnists who are mostly discounted, like William Galston and TDS Peggy Noonan.

The affidavit just says take everything. This was or is a fishing expedition trying to find something, anything to prevent Trump from being able to run again.

The Democrats and their ‘loyal henchmen’ will continue to stay on ‘offense’ at all cost because they have too much to hide - malfeasance, covert and overt criminal behavior, clandestine plots and so on. A movie made about this Party and their efforts to sabotage and destroy an opposing Party candidate and president would make “All the President’s Men” look as innocent as a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
We cannot and must not forget the hundreds of thousands of America’s ‘best and bravest’ who have sacrificed through the years to maintain our free speech and equal rights, as well as other freedoms. Rivers of blood and oceans of tears have been spent - and all of this cannot have been for our precious freedom to be erased or taken from us by an out-of-control administration which knows no bounds.
I’m thankful for Jonathan Turley - for his wisdom and truth. He is a bright light among so many who share his political philosophy but, apparently, have gone ‘underground’ or incognito and are afraid to speak out.

We all wonder what could be in those documents. From all the speculation on this subject over the last 10 days, I find the most logical explanation is that these documents could be used as evidence in Trump’s lawsuit against Clinton, Comey, et al, and would expose deep state shenanigans (possibly criminal) occurring during the 2016 campaign and the time Trump was President.

Face it! We don't live in a democracy, a Republic anymore. Of the People, By the People, For the People. The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, especially The 4th Amendment mean nothing to these criminals who sit in the seat of authority of DOJ, FBI, WH and other intelligence agencies.
The Left's message today is: By the Bureaucratic Swamp, Of the Bureaucratic Swamp, For the Bureaucratic Swamp. How dare the people think they have a voice in the govt. We will do what we want, you'll like it and shut up.

It's not about the rule of law...it's about the rule of Obama and Susan rice...they are trying everything in the book to stop President Trump from running in 2034....I think the judge on Greg Kelly last night is right...garland will indict President Trump in hopes of stopping him from the nomination in 2024...but it won't work because President Trump will win in the courts....and now WE know there's video coverage of the raid and Kimberly Gillfold says President Trump has it...hoooray....

So, at what point did the DOJ get taken apart?

I think they raided Trump's residence, simply because he has some evidence of the Swamp's evil against him and against us. They need to destroy that evidence that proves that they committed crimes against the nation and against Trump personally.

Thank you #14-- for an outstanding comment about our wonderful country. My brother fought in the South Pacific in WWII. He saw unbelievable sights that he couldn't talk about until he was in his 70s. (He drove the Higgins boat.). This generation has no idea, nor do they care to know, the luxuries they enjoy because of the "real men" who made it possible.
