This week the baseball world lost its greatest voice in legendary Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully. However, because through the wonders of modern technology we never truly lose someone’s voice, on Friday the Chicago Cubs chose to pay tribute to Scully by running back the rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame that Scully sang in 1998 in honor of their legendary broadcaster, Harry Caray.(Tweet/Video) Scully and Caray maintained a strong friendship throughout the years. (Tweets) The move was met with widespread praise online: (Tweets) Scully began broadcasting Dodgers games in Brooklyn in 1950, eight years before the team made the trip to Los Angeles.

Does anyone else but me remember the great Rosey Rosewell, radio announcer of the equally great Pittsburgh Pirates, with his famous, "Open the window Aunt Minnie...here she comes" when Ralph Kiner hit a homer? No place like Forbes Field in the forties.

The best public address announcer - - was Tex Rickett at Ebbets Field - - who once announced to the Brooklyn Flock - - "A child has been foind lost!" But - - getting back to the Seventh Inning Stretch for Vince Scully - - he went to Fordham University - - in the center of the Bronyx - - but the seventh-inning stretch was created at the bitter rival school - - Manhattan College - - which is located on the west side of the same Bronyx I'm not sure Vince would have been happy with that! Besides which - - doing the stretch in far away Shootcago - - is a horrible example of cultural appropriation.

Wow! You people must be REALLY OLD!! But I have to admit I well remember Vin. One of the all time great announcers. Jim Nance gave a nice remembrance of him yesterday during a PGA tournament. RIP Vin Scully.

Very classy gesture by the Cubs organization. It would be nice if they made this a once in a year tradition. With expanded playoffs where barely :500 teams get in to and win World Series' killing summer pennant races, among a few other things, there’s very little to root for anymore.

Vin Scully was one of a kind. He once said that he didn’t want a partner because he was speaking to the audience with whom he had his relationship. He didn’t want them to be spectators to his conversation with another person. Thnk about that when you watch Nance gazing lovingly into Faldo’s eyes…or have to listten to the current Dodger announcer Davies talk cute with Jessica Mendoza. We knew Vin. We miss Vin.

A defiant President Donald Trump released a new political video early Tuesday morning after the FBI raided his home at Mar-a-Lago. The video (watch above) begins with rolling thunder as the former president lists the failures of President Joe Biden leading a “nation in decline.” “We are a nation that in many ways has become a joke,” Trump says. The video features Trump delivering a speech about his vision for the future, where “hard-working patriots” rebuild the country.

While most of the allegations of corruption surrounding the FBI’s raid of Donald Trump’s estate in Florida have been pointed at the bureau itself, details about the judge who signed off on the warrant are raising eyebrows. The warrant was rubber-stamped by Magistrate Judge named Bruce Reinhardt. As Ron Coleman points out, that’s highly suspect given the profile of the situation.(Tweet) Why did a low-level, unconfirmed, unappointed magistrate judge sign off on the most consequential FBI warrant in decades? If any warrant application demanded the eyes of a real judge, it would be one targeting the former President of the United States. Yet, this judge was happy to give the FBI
Republicans Demand Garland, Wray Testify

Republicans are demanding that FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland appear before the House Judiciary Committee on Friday to explain the Department of Justice’s actions in raiding former President Donald Trump. FBI agents executed a search warrant at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, Florida, residence on Monday, ostensibly in connection with an investigation into the handling of presidential documents. It was the first such raid in the history of the country. As Democrats and liberal cable pundits celebrated, Republicans were united in their condemnation of what appeared to be an effort to abuse law enforcement to target a member of the opposition and a likely candidate in the next presidential election.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has leveraged his leadership during the COVID pandemic as well as his willingness to push back against the moral depravity of the left to become a Republican Party rock star and will be hitting the campaign trail in support of pro-American candidates who have been endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump. Likely to cruise to reelection in the Sunshine State against whichever hapless loser that the Democrats trot out in November, DeSantis remains guarded about a 2024 White House run and a possible matchup against President Joe Biden, a man whom he has locked horns with over mask mandates, sexual perversion in classrooms and illegal immigration

Donald Trump on Monday evening wryly joked about the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate, telling a rally: 'Another day in paradise'. The former president dialed in to a 'tele-rally' for Sarah Palin, as the former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate aims to claim the state's only seat in the House at a special election on August 16. Palin introduced Trump to her followers listening in, and said that they should all be grateful the 76-year-old was keeping his commitment to address them, despite the strains of the day. 'Another day in paradise,' Trump said. 'This is a strange day.' He then moved on to reminisce about a visit to Alaska.

Hoards of angry Donald Trump supporters descended on his Mar-a-Lago home last night shortly after it emerged that the FBI had searched the ex-president's estate as part of an investigation into whether he took classified records from the White House to the Florida residence. Trump, disclosing the search in a lengthy statement, claimed that agents had opened up a safe at his home and described their work as an 'unannounced raid' that he called 'prosecutorial misconduct.' The raid on Trump's home represents a dramatic and unprecedented escalation of law enforcement scrutiny of the former president. Many of his supporters were angered by the raid and a raucous crowd -

On Monday evening, the FBI took the unprecedented step of raiding the home of former President Donald Trump. What were they looking for? Astonishingly, what is being leaked to the media is that they were after documents that possibly violated the Presidential Records Act. Far from their promises of proving some grand conspiracy involving January 6th, it appears the Democrats, using the power of the nation’s federal law enforcement apparatus, are trying to take Donald Trump out with selective enforcement of provisions that are normally handled in a civil, not criminal manner. Where have we seen that before? None of this is a coincidence, and none of it is justified.
