Who, exactly, gets offended by 'cultural appropriation'?

Original Article

We live in an age of mass stupidity, with totally ridiculous notions elevated to the status of self-righteous causes. But among the most absurd complaints that predominantly young wokesters embrace is the censure of what they call “cultural appropriation.” By this, they mean people of one ethnicity using cultural artifacts of another culture. Having lived in Japan, which eagerly embraced Westernization more than 150 years ago, and where classical music is far more popular than in the United States, this seems an odd complaint. Cultural appropriation has made Japan rich, diverse, and happy. McDonald's is the biggest restaurant chain, though sushi and ramen remain immensely popular, too.

I'm still bitter - - about Chico Marx using a faux "Italian" accent in all his movies. I constantly have nightmares - - because of that outrageous cultural appropriation. Ban the Marx Brothers!

Being offended is a choice. The people who complain about cultural appropriation, aimed primarily at whites, are the same people who have no problem with Mooch wearing straight haired wigs or Beyonce straightening her hair and dying it blonde.

What offends me are drag queens. It's not cultural appropriation but a hate crime for a man to dress in provocative clothing, outrageous wigs and clown make-up pretending to be a woman. It's as offensive to me as black face is to Blacks.

Am not into Cultural Appropriation. Many young black men wear baseball caps backwards. Who started this? Baseball catchers? Maybe? But I think it was Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith show.

We can play that game too. I refuse to ever see Hamilton because of cultural appropriation. We all know the true ethnicity of the Founding Fathers, but evidently it's OK for minority playwrights to hijack American History and change the ethnicity of the Founders? Can you image the stuff that would hit the fan if a White writer produced a script for a show about the Birmingham bus boycott and cast Gwyneth Paltrow as Rosa Parks and Jack Black as MLK? If the woketards aren't going to play by their own rules, why should we?

Just another tool of the bullies to bully. Are white ANTIFA fools appropriating black urban gangbanger culture, hiding their identities while they commit crimes? Someone needs to call them out and cancel them. Not enough "normal" people have the guts to give these "cultural appropriation" bullies the middle finger. I better not see any black or Asian kid wearing a lederhosen t-shirt at Germanfest this weekend...and don't dare eat Weisswurst or Leberkase.

Years ago in the Mississippi Delta, farmers brought in seasonal workers from Mexico who brought in their native food, like tamales. The black farm workers ate the tamales and liked them but they didn't have masa meal and other ingredients to make authentic tamales. So they used cornmeal and their own ingredients and invented the Delta Hot Tamale. Is that cultural appropriation? I say no, and I say they are both delicious and people who complain about cultural appropriation should just shut up.

After leftists yelled that "walls don't work" and Joe Biden declared that "not another foot" of President Trump's border wall would be built on his watch during his presidential campaign, Biden is now "quietly" completing parts of the President Trump's border wall now that three million illegal aliens have surged on in. According to the Associated Press: PHOENIX — The Biden administration on Thursday authorized completion of the Trump-funded U.S.-Mexico border wall in an open area of southern Arizona near Yuma, where four wide gaps make it among the busiest corridors for illegal crossings.

Although inflation — which surged to 9.1% in June — is driving up the cost of everyday goods, consumers are feeling a significant amount of pain when it comes to buying food. According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) – which is a broad measure of the price for everyday goods – food prices have outpaced overall inflation, rising 10.4% in June compared to a year ago. This takes into account food at home and at restaurants. Inflation for food-at-home, which accounts for grocery store and supermarket food purchases, rose even higher to 12.2%, underscoring how consumers are not getting much reprieve by trying to cook at home.

A few days ago, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, speaking to the global elites at some summit in Aspen, surreally declared that the U.S. border "is secure." It was garbage, much as everything else he says, given that more than 3 million illegal aliens with zero vetting have crossed into the U.S. on Joe Biden's watch. just as Rep. Andy Biggs pointed out in his excellent op-ed for Townhall here. Millions of illegal border crossers, with a record 270,000 apprehended in just the last month, is nothing to brag about, and yet that was exactly what Mayorkas was doing, according to former ICE acting director Tom Homan.

As Breitbart News reported, a recent Yahoo News/YouGov survey found that just one in five Americans want Biden to run for reelection in 2024.

Manson’s dream was to destroy society, so it’s up to us to recognize what’s going on and fight back against this almost apocalyptic racial division. Hershey Co (HSY.N)said on Thursday it would fall short of meeting demand for the all-important Halloween and Christmas holiday seasons this year, blaming a scarcity of raw ingredients and difficulties in securing suppliers. Pandemic-induced global supply chain disruptions and the Russia-Ukraine war have crunched supplies of cocoa, edible oil and other food ingredients, pinching production lines of packaged food companies around the world. Hershey Chief Executive Officer Michele Buck said those issues, along with the company's focus on meeting demand during non-holiday periods, would lead to a likely shortage during Halloween, but added that sales will still top last year.

Moderna will sell doses of its vaccine that target Omicron subvariants, according to the agencies that announced the agreement. The actual contract has not yet been made public. Moderna and other vaccine makers have been updating their COVID-19 vaccine formulations because the vaccines are based on the Wuhan strain, which has not been prevalent since 2020.
