So...At some point Mayor Adams will hold a brief press conference in which he will denounce this horrid incident as "unacceptable" and then bug out. Maybe he will conduct the presser while wearing his "Stop Gun Violence" dinner jacket.

Black Bird is proving more disastrous than Big Bird. Nevertheless, birds of a feather….
Oh, and good luck finding detectives to investigate.

Uh-huh. And do you suppose Hizzoner meant by, “…this national problem”? Mental illness? Underclass amorality and violence? Drug addiction? No. He meant abrogation of the 2nd Amendment, even though the above three issues ARE the problem.

Sad that normal people try to live in this sewer run by people who don't care how many die.

Classic photo of Dandy Mayor Dude making "the concerned face."
And of course, it's the gun's fault. FTA: "Adams, in a tweet after his remarks, said in part, 'More guns in our city means more lives lost. It means more babies crying as those who love them lie dead.'"

How nice. The only solution now is to bring back the gallows with public hangings. That won’t happen of course and NYC will become unlivable. I cannot imagine why anybody would visit this city. At one time it was a great place...restaurants, Broadway shows, etc. No longer. I will never go back.

Soon ordinary people will be able to obtain a concealed carry permit in NYC. This may change the balance of power between the victims (The Normals) and the criminal class. I keep hoping that the worst of the violent criminals get a nasty surprise in the last few seconds of their lives.

They give the color of his hoodie but not the color of his skin. It’s sick that the news is intersected in exploiting this tragedy for profit while actively avoiding providing information that could help find the murder. Random again?

The lawless will continue killing until they are stopped. This mayor has no intention of stopping anything. He is content to spill his vile heartless comments while doing nothing to prevent them. This is the democrat way. Lives mean nothing to them from conception to the grave. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. Life in big cities is hell and democrats don’t care. If they did, they would be willing to stop the indiscriminate murders that happen everyday. It’s not that they can’t stop the violence, they don’t want to. Convince me these people are not evil. I dare you.

Eric Adams shows up for what? Another photo ops? At this rate, he'll only be doing photo ops every day during his entire term.

Comrades, please! Do you still not understand that to achieve our perfect socialist state omelet some eggs must necessarily be broken? This is another wonderful opportunity to ban private ownership of guns because, "No guns, no crime!" Why do you not join us in our campaign to stop all this gun violence? Once we get the guns out of private hands, then the only ones who can commit crime with total impunity will be us, your communist overlords. We promise to be nice. We won't shoot, imprison or persecute anyone! Have we ever done that? Wait--forget about that. Stalin never killed anyone. Mao never killed anyone. Pol Pot never killed anyone. You get the drift yet, comrade?

Lex and 95th is a tony area known as Carnegie Hill--mostly expensive townhouses, low rise, quiet money. The shooting was by a school and playground at 8.25pm, where it's still light here. The article is short on facts--was the mother white? Anyone get a good look at this guy? Anything stolen? Description doesn't indicate a struggle so probably not the latter. Feels targeted and maybe gang-related. Note to Jerk Adams--the gun did not shoot itself. RESIGN!

Now even the upper East is a no-go zone. I'm pretty sure most real NY people are getting out for good replaced by the snowflakes from the rest of the country.

A now-wealthy nephew on my wife's side of the family moved from the Upper East Side about 12 years ago to a large house in rural NJ. He enjoyed tweaking the NJ antigun folks with their "maximum one gun a month" law by buying one gun every month. He is now moving to South Carolina. He's very politically conservative and very wealthy, no managing money for a single, far wealthier client.
Far away from Manhattan.
He was working in a building adjacent to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11th, and he and a few fellow workers have a harrowing tale of survival as they were by Battery Park when the first tower came down. The dust nearly asphyxiated them, did blind them for quite a time.
He's happy to not be in Manhattan any more.

The mayor blames the gun. The rest of us blame the mayor for being soft on crime.
