Kentucky's 2022 Teacher of the Year has quit his high school over accusations that he was grooming children in a student-run LGBTQ club. Willie Carver Jr., who is openly gay, said he felt pushed out of Montgomery County High School after ten years by homophobia, describing his time teaching as a gay man in Kentucky as a 'death by a thousand cuts,' according to NBC News.(Snip)He said that during his time he watched administration pull books by black and LGBTQ authors at parents' request, kill a student-run poll intended to take the temperature on the school's LGBTQ inclusivity, and defend students accused of tearing pride posters
Hey Willie, maybe you should stick to read in’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic, instead groomin’.

Why did he consider it necessary for his students to know this or any other aspect of his private life?

He was bread in old Kentucky but he’s just a crumb down here.
How else will his movement grow? Its just normal procreation in a virus like fashion to infect the host.

Looking back, I know that several of my high school and college teachers were gay, but they stuck to the information in the classes they taught. I especially remember one of my professors in Art History. He was quite flamboyant and would set off gaydar for everyone. But he didn't tell us about his sex life and he didn't go into detail about the sex lives of the artists whether they were gay or straight. We studied their art, not their sex lives.

There shouldn't be LGBTQ+ clubs - student run or otherwise, in anything below college.

That's great that he actually quit. I wish more would. Any teacher that feels the need to share their sexual life-style choices with their students has no business being a teacher.

Good riddance. Being a homosexual should immediately disqualify a person from being a teacher.

Maybe you should coach basketball.

Everything he does is designed to infuriate anyone who disagrees with him. From how he dresses to every action he takes; he isn't looking for tolerance, he is an activist looking to provoke. Resigning is the complete opposite of his methods. So, why would he do it? Someone needs to ask his high school gay club if he ever provided hands-on demonstrations. In your face, breaking rules, and not conforming to our oppressive social norms is his thing. So why not that? It's a reasonable guess that this was a defensive move.

In the 70s and 80s when homosexuals were trying to get the right to teach school in Florida, a famous Christian singer lead the fight against them. She was even the spokesperson for the orange juice industry but darn if I can remember her name. That woman was absolutely crushed for trying to keep homosexuals away from schoolchildren. No one has heard from her since then. Well, guess what! Looks like that woman, her supporters and other Christian’s knew what they were talking about. When you accept something, you always get more of it.

Growing up, I am pretty sure I had four gay teachers through primary, middle and high school, but they never did anything overt that confirmed my (and my classmates') suspicions. They taught their English, Spanish and history classes and kept their private lives private. I liked it that way. BTW - I liked all but the one who was a vindictive POS.

I’m curious as to what a club defined by sexual preferences does in its meetings? I just don’t get it. Your sexual identity is but one part of your being. It should not be the driving force in your life. If it is, you have a problem whether you are straight or gay or any other sexual identity trending at the time. I don’t believe any club that first and foremost defines itself by sexual preference has any place in school. It is totally inappropriate for a school extracurricular activity. What’s next fetish clubs??

Willie is being a a bore and a jerk. He knows perfectly well that there are no school clubs completely dedicated to heterosexual attraction and he also knows that heterosexual teachers can face criminal prosecution for engaging in sexual activity with students. His problem is that he thinks he’s special and that everything he does is noble including his carnal life. But sexual attraction is no more noble than a knee jerk after a reflex hammer tap to the patellar tendon.

I cannot imagine his union would not get involved. I know many þeachers who are not gay and get the same treatment from administration. Admin tends to not side with its teaching staff

As with many of his ilk, this person's entire identity is wrapped up in being obnoxiously homosexual, to the point where he wears Pride eyeglasses. Some cities have special schools set up for LGBTQ+ students; he could groom and cruise there and no one would bat an eye because that's expected behavior.
