The Catholic Bishops of New York issued a statement Friday on the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, declaring that the historic ruling “will save countless innocent children simply waiting to be born.”
“We give thanks to God for today’s decision of the United States Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization,” reads the statement, signed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan and seven of his brother bishops from New York state.
In their statement, the bishops express their gratitude to “the millions of heroic Americans who have worked tirelessly toward this outcome for nearly a half-century” and who have been “a charitable and compelling voice for the voiceless.”

While you’re thanking God, how about manning up and excommunicating Pelosi and Biden (among others)?

Sorry Bishops. Ya do not get to pick and choose which moral imperative you will support. The Bible is pretty clear when it comes to the sin of homosexuality.

This has been a long time in coming...repeal of the 1973 Roe decision. I remember knocking on the doors of my neighbors in San Jose, CA in late 1970s asking for signatures on a petition to repeal this terrible decision. Can't remember much of the details as I was very young, but very enthusiastic for the pro-life cause. One neighbor told me she had had an abortion because she already had 6 kids and couldn't afford to have another one. It shocked me to hear someone tell me that in those days. Abortion was a taboo subject then. How times have changed over the years. The abortion crowd is now shouting and celebrating their killing of the unborn. Unbelievable!

No more liberal cocktail parties for you Cardinal Dolan.

The SC ruling really just sends the decision to ban abortion or legalize abortion with or without constraints to the state legislatures. It will make legislators vote on propositions. The Roe v. Wade decision was totally undemocratic in its results. Current Corngrass (intentional misspelling) People want to "codify"abortion in a federal law. Go for it! Make them accountable for their decisions and sentiments reflected in their votes. Now, we will see if the public condones the killing babies in the safety of their mothers' wombs or not.

I can just picture this at Cardinal Dolan's residence in Manhattan when the Supreme Court ruling came down. Dolan was where he and the rest of the Bishops usually are, hiding from not only the abortion battle but the other disgusting culture battles we are all fighting, and his aide comes in to tell him of the ruling. He cautiously and carefully peeks out to make sure the coast is clear and in fact, what his aide is telling him is true, before emerging. Well now that it's all over, he can come out with confidence and stride to the microphones to make his long awaited comments. Nice comments, but PULEEZE. The NY Bishops with Dolan being the titular head have been cowards on the topic of abortion for decades. We never, EVER have sermons on the value of life; on the hard work and dedication of the pro-life movement; on the wonderful pro-life March for Life that takes place every January with thousands and thousands of young people marching peacefully and joyfully, often in bitter cold weather to support pro-life values and the movement.
And don't get me started on their absolute SILENCE over the Cuomos, Pelosis, Bidens, dozens of so-called "devout" Catholic politicians who champion murder not just in the womb any longer, but champion the reviling act of partial birth abortion, and now abortion during a delivery if the mother (Oh God I committed a sin, I should say the birthing person) decides at that moment that she/he/they/it doesn't want the child and murder is performed. Yeah Dolan. Go out there buddy and make your comments and speeches on the success finally of overturning in the Supreme Court, Roe.
Yo Dolan, don't forget to praise President Donald J. Trump for this landmark ruling. For without him, Roe would have never, EVER, been overruled. And Lord we thank you every single day for our beloved and brave and most consequential President, Donald John Trump.

Exactly my question, #4. What does our heretic pope have to say about all of this? According to centuries Catholic doctrine, and as the head of the Church, this should be a no-brainer. I can imagine Francis is in a pretty tough spot right now. His overlords are telling him to condemn this ruling, but to do it in a way that sounds like he supports it.

I'm reminded of a dear friend...now passed...who had eight children and told me once...God doesn't send a baby without sending a loaf of bread...to all those women who have had abortions and now regret their action...I say...God had a plan...and Jesus died for your sins...so carry on now...a wrong has been righted ...

Cardinal Dolan doesn't need help defending himself. He came into Milwaukee and cleaned out the stables left by one of the Alinsky bishops of the pre JPII era, Weakland. Not a whole lot of pretense to Dolan, and as to manhatten cocktail parties, he is more of a Budweiser and Usinger brat kind of guy, with a nice ring size cigar as a chaser. He inherited a strong gay presence among his priesthood and considerable resistance. With a supportive media, he'd be a rockstar that the American Catholic Church desperately needs, but the orthodox Catholic Church, not the Pope Francis and McCarrick and Cupich church, doesn't fit the gay media narrative. Dolan aint the problem.
Dolan, and before him, O'Connor are and were plenty outspoken champions of the unborn. Not all Bishops can make that claim, and certainly not the ones elevated by Francis. Know the players before you start booing.
