An explosive device was found outside the family home of a California councilwoman Tuesday morning, prompting law enforcement to evacuate the area. The explosive was planted near San José Councilwoman Dev Davis’ house in Willow Glen and spotted by a neighbor, who reported the “suspicious device,” according to a NBC Bay Area report. A San José bomb squad responded and evacuated the Davis family and surrounding neighbors. The bomb unit confirmed that the device was explosive and removed it from the property by the afternoon without incident, police said.

I presume a political motivation, but I haven't seen one suggested yet.

Not FTA but from the comments, she’s a Republican. If she were a D, it would be in the article.

Davis was a Republican but a few years ago switched to being non-partisan. Hard to see a political motivation. Even the democRATS wouldn't waste a good bomb on a non-partisan loser in a minor local race.

Dev Davis is listed as “nonpartisan”. None of the other mayoral candidates she ran against listed a party affiliation, either. Is “guess who?” a new game we are being forced to play? Being California, it is probably to the residents’ detriment.

I notice there was no discussion concerning politicsl positions she supported. Being originally Republican and now non-partizan, may simply indicate her lack of support for or from the "Good Ol' Boys" of the GOP. Anti-swamp.

The Washington Post on Tuesday praised President Joe Biden for restoring what it described as “a sense of dignity” to the presidential pardon process. In an editorial, the newspaper offered a damning contrast between Biden’s “care in determining who should benefit from clemency” to former President Donald Trump, who doled out pardons to “personal associates convicted of or on trial for serious offenses,” those with White House connections or people who had celebrity advocates.
