A new photo shows Mike Pence and his family hiding in a Senate office just minutes after he was evacuated on January 6 as a mob stormed the Capitol.
The image taken by a White House photographer and published Wednesday night by ABC portrays the Vice President, second lady Karen, his daughter Charlotte and his Republican Congressman Greg sitting and waiting as the chaos unfolded.
Karen is seen closing the curtains so rioters couldn't see inside while the vice president, Charlotte and Greg sit and wait on chairs.
In the hours before, Greg Pence had voted against certifying Joe Biden's election win and Trump supporters were heard chanting 'hang Mike Pence'.

They look really terrified. Not. If he was in great danger, why not whisk him away to an area with no windows?
Is this Pence's attempt to garner sympathy ahead of his attempt to run for POTUS in 2024?đ

Since weâre all suffering as a result of Bidenâs presidency itâs hard to feel sorry for a man, a Washington insider, who may have conceded the country to its enemies out of cowardice or betrayal. But I wonder: why is this information being shared now?

Pence is a wimpy establishment Republican. If the Republican Party is stupid enough to nominate him as the Republican Presidential candidate leading up to the 2024 General Election, the aggressive leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats will stomp Pence into the gutter immediately if not sooner!

Oh, pleasr. The only ones in danger were Ashli Babbitt, shot to death by Micfhael Byrd, a senior Capitol Police lieutenant, for looking (not crawling) through a broken glass door pane, and the poor woman beaten to death by a female CP officer while she lay on the floor of a tunnel.

PS. I just looked at the photos. Some hideaway = a luxurious Senate office - and eeryone sitting around looking as though they were waiting for the butler to bring tea or martinis.

Not a good look for the Guy who wants to be President. In my wildest imagination I can't conjure up Donald Trump doing such a thing. He would have been on the Floor NOT certifying Electors! There is the difference between the Man we called our President and a Wimp like Pence! He's going nowhere!!

"Hiding" is a charged term. Waiting in a secure environment for the situation to be resolved is not the same.
Earlier in my life, I spent 20 years in public office. Once I told my staff to lock the doors to our department because a lone gunman on our floor had killed someone down the hall. We instructed others who had a business with me that day to remain with us. The murder turned out to be a personal dispute, not someone "going postal." When law enforcement engages with violators, the last thing it needs is the presence of innocent bystanders, let alone "high value" targets for hostage-taking.

Oh good grief. Stop with the drama. When you have the Capitol Police opening doors to let people in and most of those people are wandering around staring at the beauty of the Capitol building (and staying between the velvet ropes), thereâs no danger. The whole thing was blown way out of proportion.

There was NO riot. It did not happen. The FBI invited in a few guests, and the Capitol police held the doors open for them, then the Capitol Police thugs murdered two unarmed women.

Poor Mike Pence, sat comfortably in his chair, chatting with his family, surrounded by dozens of armed security, and bullet proof armored cars available to leave the scene. How frightening this must have been for him. I don't see Mike Pence doing anything, which is what he does. Pence can take Marc Short and find a career some place else. I reject both these men.

On the other hand, I do wish Traitor Pence would go into hiding and never be seen or heard from again politically.

Ah, hindsight!
I remember during the 2016 campaign the attacks on Pence's rule to not be seen in public with a woman without his wife present. It sparked a lot of anti-Christian bigotry with the crazies. In one report about Pence's faith, I learned that he had been raised Roman Catholic but went Evangelical when he married his Karen. At the time my Catholic heart felt the pang of betrayal by a fellow Catholic, and briefly felt him cowardly not to continue in his faith while still supporting his wife's. The moment passed and I was just glad that he was not ashamed to practice his Christian beliefs in public.
There was another moment that caused me to twinge during the 2020 campaign. I watched the Vice-President's evening speech from Fort McHenry just days before the election. I picked up a strange vibe from President Trump's demeanor, but I discounted it as the man being tired. Pence gave an OK speech. I listened intently, but never felt inspired or fired-up. I was disappointed. I saw no heir to Trump or the MAGA movement.
Now hindsight has cleared away my earthly confusion and clarified what my soul saw as reality. Judas Pence doesn't even deserve the designation of Judas. At least Christ's betrayer removed himself from further action in the world. Of course, I don't wish suicide on the man or any of God's children, I just want him to go away. I'll leave his punishment to Our Lord.

I am disheartened by all the hatred directed against Mike Pence on this board. The election theft was in the bag before Pence went to the Hill on January 6. Those who believe that he could have kick started some last minute turnaround are delusional.
And Pence never betrayed Trump. As far as we know he never promised the president that he would decline to include certain states' electors in the count.
And # 28 - it's good to know that you are content to leave Pence's "punishment" to God. Very gracious of you.

@33 I think PDJT was made to accept Pence as his VP, maybe by McConnell. Pence is a/k/a to me as Casper Milquetoast. He is colorless and fades into the background. Not presidential material.

After Trump won the Republican Primary Elections he was essentially a one man show, who to fill all his executive positions, from Vice-President on down, relied on recommendations from career establishment Republican politicians and operatives who he did not know very well, many who turned out to be complete RINOS, or just wimpy Republicans, who did not have any use for or support Trumpâs âMake America Great Againâ policies that they feared would kick over their financial and political âapple cartsâ. If Trump is re-elected in 2024 you can bet your boots that Trump will limit such important advice on personal appointments to people who he is sure that he can trust.

iirc, there were reports pontius pence was no where near the capitol ...or aoc. 2 stone liar drama queens.
afaik, he didn't become an evangelical out of faith--many more reports are that he believed he could dupe them:
hide his homosexuality and win their votes effortlessly, then go clubbing w/ the dc gay highlifers , in or out of the closet.

We know a coup d' etat was staged against Trump by the Clinton/Obama Team to frame Trump and therefore we also know January 6th was also staged. Jan 6th was necessary to throw off anyone making waves about a stolen election. So far, it has worked.
