To Spy on a Trump Aide, the FBI Pursued
a Dossier Rumor the Press Shot Down as 'Bullshit'

Original Article

The FBI decision to spy on a former Trump campaign adviser hinged on an unsubstantiated rumor from a Clinton campaign-paid dossier that the Washington Post's Moscow sources had quickly shot down as “bullshit” and “impossible,” according to emails disclosed last week to a D.C. court hearing the criminal case of a Clinton lawyer accused of lying to the FBI.Though the FBI presumably had access to better sources than the newspaper, agents did little to verify the rumor that Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page had secretly met with sanctioned Kremlin officials in Moscow. Instead, the bureau pounced on the dossier report the day it received it, immediately plugging the rumor

Wow! Interesting and revealing article. None of which would have surfaced if not for Page's lawsuit. The 75 million $ seems small to me for their awful conduct. I predict a quick settlement, followed by a fond farewell from Page. A 75 billion $ suit would force the whole truth to come out. Never going to happen.

Don't forget the 'Two Hops' rule.... or is it 'Three Hops' ? They can spy on the subject, then the persons that the subject talks to (that's One hop) then the people that They talk to (that's Two hops) then the people that THEY talk to (that's Three hops.) Three hops from Carter Page probably takes them to the top of the organization, and if it didn't, they would 'pretend' that it did. The 'FIB'bers were spying directly on Donald Trump.

As he says, he doesn’t have proof, but it’s speculation that runs a bit deeper than the, admittedly, very interesting Soto clerk story. This was inevitable when the leak happened. Anyone who thinks their name was mentioned unfairly is free to deny it. In line with the essential nihilism of the act itself—so destructive of centuries old institutions, central to our constitutional order, by a single individual
