President Biden on Monday mixed up his job title, telling a crowd at the White House that he was the nation’s first senator from Delaware when he meant to say president. Biden, who turns 80 this year, is the oldest-ever US president and Republican critics routinely accuse him of being in mental decline, citing gaffes and instances where he appears to lose his train of thought. “There have not been many of the senators from Delaware. It’s a small state. As a matter of fact, there has never been one. And so I want to take advantage of making sure I introduce [a fellow Delaware native],” Biden said

Getting ready for Monday night’s Met Gala is proving quite a feet for Mayor Eric Adams. The Ferragamo-loving pol took time out of his busy schedule in the afternoon to treat himself to a pedicure ahead of the city’s fashion event of the year. Video posted on Twitter showed Hizzoner barefoot in the beauty chair at Cuccio Nail Salon in Washington Heights, Manhattan, while one of the staff washed his feet. “The Met Ball—so we’ll make sure I have a pedi done before I go,” Adams quips in the short clip. A City Hall spokesman confirmed that Adams received the pedicure before 2 p.m.—adding that

John Boehner backed out of a deal to join a marijuana lobbying group—but only after he allegedly stole its data and talking points to form another, pro-weed lobbying outfit of his own, an explosive lawsuit claims. The former House speaker signed an agreement in March 2018 to become co-chair of the 10 Campaign—a weed legalization group that takes its name from the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution, which establishes states’ rights, according to the suit filed in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
Less than a year later, in February 2019, however, Boehner announced he was launching a new group called the National Cannabis

A popular gay dating app is catching heat after precise location data for millions of users was collected from a digital advertising network and sold to outside parties. Grindr—which touts itself as the world's largest social networking app for gay, bi, transgender and queer individuals—is one of several platforms prompting concern among national security officials. Data collected from the app, which has millions of users, was used as part of a demonstration by the U.S. government detailing the intelligence risks of commercially available information, The Wall Street Journal reported. Although the information did not disclose names or phone numbers, experts allege some of the data was detailed enough

Kathy Boudin, who spent decades in prison for her part in the deadly 1981 Brink’s armored truck heist as a member of the radical militant group Weather Underground, died of cancer at the age of 78 in New York on Sunday.
In October 1981, Boudin and members of the group teamed up with the Black Liberation Army for the robbery to help fund their anti-government campaigns. They targeted a Brink’s armored truck, which they held up in Rockland County, making off with $1.6 million.
During the robbery, gunmen killed Brink’s security guard Peter Paige before transferring the money to a U-Haul truck a mile away,

Asian-American groups are getting $20 million in the new New York State budget to fight an alarming tide of hate crimes that has shaken local communities. The money in the $220 billion annual budget deal falls short of the amount Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) organizations had sought, but it doubles last year’s funding. “The Asian American community has never been properly accounted for in the state budget,” state Sen. John Liu told the Daily News Sunday. “The need is unprecedented because everybody is painfully aware of the anti-Asian hate that has accompanied COVID,” the Queens Democrat said. Complaints of anti-Asian hate crimes more than tripled

The “Ghost of Kyiv” is a myth, Ukrainian officials admitted over the weekend. After several news outlets last week identified the legendary, mysterious, hero fighter pilot as a 29-year-old dad recently killed in battle with the Russians, military officials acknowledged Saturday that there was no such person. “The ghost of Kyiv is a superhero-legend, whose character was created by Ukrainians!” Ukraine’s Air Force Command wrote on Facebook.(Snip)“Hero of Ukraine Stepan Tarabalka is NOT ‘Ghost of Kyiv’ and he did NOT shoot down 40 planes,” said the country’s Air Force Command. Instead, the moniker belongs collectively to all of Ukraine’s hero fighter pilots, military officials said.

As many as 18,000 migrants could cross the southern border daily once the Trump-era Title 42 health regulation is lifted, increasing the strain on federal officials already stretched thin trying to contain the crisis, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on Sunday. “Title 42 is a public health authority. So what we started to do in September of last year was prepare for its end. … We’re not projecting 18,000, but what we do in the department is we plan for different scenarios, so we’re ready for anything,” Mayorkas said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” When host Dana Bash pressed Mayorkas on if the Department of Homeland Security would

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday praised President Joe Biden's new disinformation czar as 'qualified and neutral' despite a slew of Republicans criticizing her as partisan.
Asked about that criticism on CNN's State of the Union, Mayorkas called Nina Jankowicz 'eminently qualified, a renowned expert in the field of disinformation.' 'And neutral?' host Dana Bash asked.
Mayorkas answered, 'Absolutely so.'(Snip)Mayorkas answered: 'So what it does, is it works to ensure that the way in which we address threats, the connectivity between threats and acts of violence are addressed without infringing on free speech, protecting civil rights and civil liberties, the right of privacy.'
Comments:
A fresh bowl of word salad from the secretary of a department whose mission is to destroy the homeland by rendering it unrecognizable via mass immigration, and making us less secure as a pretext to increasing the powers of the secret police. Even now, the Republicans, who created this department, are preparing a sternly worded letter advising the department to consider Our Constitutional Protections in mind while monitoring our private communications and arresting people for no reason, while at the same time welcoming dangerous criminals across our imaginary border.
