The Texas National Guard soldier who died trying to save alleged drug smugglers in the Rio Grande River was identified Sunday as Specialist Bishop E. Evans, 22, from Arlington, Texas. The search is still underway for Evans' body after he presumably drowned Friday after jumping in the water diving Texas and Mexico in an attempt to rescue two men from the current. Republican Texas Representative Chip Roy sent a quick 'rest in peace' message on Twitter upon the release of the deceased's name. Illinois GOP Representative Mary Miller tweeted on Sunday: 'Praying for Texas National Guard SPC Bishop Evans and his family. What a horrible tragedy for them to endure,

Comments:

If not for Republican refusal to secure the border, this man would be alive today. Even now, with a name and a face, the open borders set couldn't care less because open borders achieve their aims at our expense.

This will sound harsh, but we need to institute a “do not rescue” policy when it comes to illegal invaders. Evans is a true patriotic who lost his life over a couple of pieces of human debris.

Another murder by bidet. Seven kids in Afghanistan as he grasped for a quick headline. Many Ukrainians killed while his family loots their country and he plays nato expansionist games. If you can't find the body, is anyone exploring the idea that he's been kidnapped by the cartels? It's SOP in military operation to disappear someone while planting evidence that something permanent and unrecoverable has happened to a target they want to interrogate. Use him to find out patrol schedules and personal information about coworkers that they can use? I hope someone had a drone above the action. or some sort of look-down security.

I wish the OP would explain how ''Republicans'' can secure the border. Border security is a federal responsibility, and the current US President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Senate Majority Leader, and Director Department Homeland Security are all Democrats. They are not fulfilling their obligations and have been intentionally negligent in their duties to enforce existing laws. The President has refused to comply with the court order to implement the ''remain in Mexico'' policy. He is complicit in law-breaking, needs to be impeached, removed from office, and then incarcerated. Same for the VP and Homeland Security Director. They are directly responsible for the plight of victims of fentanyl poisoning, cartel violence, and human traffickers.

Nothing Joe Biden has done is consistent with protecting American interests, lives, or safety. Protecting illegal aliens, whether they're carrying Covid or contaminated illegal drugs into our communities, is a bizarre priority for a US President. But Biden said "they should come" on his first day in office! It was a bad idea then, but now he has let new would-be "migrants" know it's not too early to start packing if they want to enter the US illegally in May. This is not 'leadership." It's betrayal. Bishop Evans was trying to do the right thing, He was working, doing his job. He died because of policies that dismiss the needs of Americans while prioritizing what is best for illegal aliens. It's shameful and deserves investigation.

OP, we realize not enough by a long shot has ever been done to have a real secure southern border of the USA. However, THIS disaster is the direct fault of Biden’s openly bizarre and stubborn opening of our nation to invaders from every part of the world. The poor Texas guard was doing his job the best he could. He tried to save a woman’s life and God took good care of him, I believe. My heart hurts for this poor man’s family.

OP maintains that USA is among a vanishingly small handful of nations worldwide to grant citizenship to offspring of illegal aliens. An "anchor baby" in hand unlocks the door to our ruinously expensive welfare system, and even that doesn't matter much because any illegal alien gets free public education (typically costing $20K a head to local taxpayers), free medical care (just stiff the hospital and the costs are passed to us), and can work off the books and even file tax returns claiming any number of dependent children, to win refunds well beyond anything paid in. Do they cross rivers for a refreshing swim? No, they come because Uncle Sam invites them here. Donald Trump wanted to secure the border, but the Cheap Labor Republicans fought him every step of the way. Donald Trump wanted to end birthright citizenship, but the Demographic Transformation Republicans who profit from socialism did nothing. The Democrat Marxists promised to destroy the USA economically and culturally through mass immigration of uneducated poor people, so we know what to expect. The Republicans, on the other hand, had any number of opportunities to stop richly rewarding border jumpers, but they don't care. How easy it is for a governor to do nothing, claiming it's someone else's job. These United States were originally configured with great autonomy to the states, and most people would welcome a governor who took action to protect his state (and the rest of us) by keeping his people safe.

Swapping animal products for future foods such as insect protein or cultured milk could reduce global warming, water and land use by over 80 per cent, a new study suggests. Researchers used computer modelling to find the optimal diet combination to meet nutritional needs, while also minimising global warming potential, water and land use. They found that if people in Europe replaced meat and dairy with foods produced through new technologies, such as making fake steak out of bovine cells, it could significantly reduce all environmental impacts. Not only that, but it would be nutritionally adequate and meet the constraints for what can be feasibly consumed, according to experts
