Taiwan’s Fighting Spirit: ‘Rational
Assessment Does Not Favor Beijing’

Taiwan’s indomitable fighting spirit would pose a serious challenge to Beijing’s military ambitions in the event of an invasion, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The starting position of any substantive and rational assessment does not favor Beijing if its goal is to invade, occupy, and sustain control over Taiwan,” Steve Yates, senior fellow and chair of the China Policy Initiative, told the DCNF.

CCP is waiting for U.S and Russia to Depletes their arsenal before they will make their move,, history will teach us how treacherous they are, just like what they did to Koh min tang of Sun Yat-Sen,, that is how the CCP rose into power in the mainland, TREACHERY!!!

More fear porn. China will do nothing but wait. Time is on the side of the Reds. They may menace and "make statements", but they're sure as hell not going to invade their #1 source of investment and a large trade partner. What's the point? The Chinese are not aggressive when time and money will do the trick. Eventually, there will be negotiations for "reunification" as a "special" province. And, what if the Reds do invade? Americans to the rescue? The USA already recognizes the renegade province line. There is no US Ambassador there. Exactly what are we fighting for...more "democracy"?

An attack on Taiwan by the Chinese Communists would be dramatically more difficult than the Russian attack on Ukraine. I have no idea how hard the Taiwanese would fight, but if they fight as hard as the Ukrainians have, it doesn't seem likely that the Red Chinese Communists could win this one. The landing alone would be extremely difficult, and even if they get a foothold - remember Galipoli. The biggest problem of invading a foreign shore is the logistical chain, supplying beans, bullets and band-aids in huge quantities over a contested shore is extremely difficult. Let's hope that the Red Chinese aren't going to attack, but that sort of hope is often dashed against the totalitarian megalomaniacal craziness of dictators.

The island of Taiwan has 23 million people. It is dense. Don't see how anyone could control Taiwan without its permission. Perhaps that is what nukes are for. If only 5% of the population rebelled, that would be over a million people. Agree that China won't go scorched earth, but after watching Russia, wouldn't bet on anything at this point.

Seems to me CCP wants Taiwan's territory and the basic elimination of defiance, not the people. They could just reduce the entire island to rubble and then rebuild and repopulate. Assuming they are after ordinary national conquest seems facile.

Despite his low approval rating, Biden believes he is the only Democrat who can defeat Donald Trump if he also decides to run, two sources told the Hill. Biden’s plans to campaign for a second term confirm his previous statements. If Biden does run, he will be in his early 80s, an old age for a tough presidential campaign.

Evicted five centuries ago by crusading Christians, jihadists have historically dreamed of, and worked towards, regaining the “lost Caliphate” of Spain. Spanish citizens are under constant threat by Islamic migrants who have illegally entered their country. Yet, despite the dangers and instability, the illegals pose to Spaniards, especially Christians, the country’s left-wing government led by Pedro Sánchez has been unwilling to close its borders, properly vet illegals or deport potential terrorists. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that illegal Muslim migrants have attacked Christians during their Holy Week. A group of Muslim migrants from a local shelter pelted Christians with rocks and projectiles at an Easter procession

A public university in Ohio will pay $400,000 in damages and attorney fees after punishing a professor for declining a male student's demand to be referred to as a female. Nick Meriwether, a philosophy professor at Shawnee State University, responded to a male student's question during a January 2018 political philosophy class by saying "Yes, sir." When the class ended, the student identified to the professor as transgender, and demanded to be referred to as a woman in the future, along with "feminine titles and pronouns," according to the Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented the professor in court. Doing so, Meriwether maintained, would have violated his convictions as a Christian.

Or is this an organized political attempt to create a wedge issue ahead of the midterms in the 2024 campaign? Sort of like the way gay

When the president himself has spoken on it, he’s been even vaguer, mentioning his health and suggesting that Donald Trump possibly running again would be a deciding factor. A firm commitment has been largely elusive. According to The Hill, though, Biden has committed to staying in the game.
