To Secure The Border, Texas Gov. Greg
Abbott Should Shut It Down

Amid the churn of recent headlines about inflation and the war in Ukraine, you might have missed what’s happening right now on the southwest border — not the ongoing border crisis, but something very much related to it. For the past few days, commercial traffic between the United States and Mexico has ground to a halt. On Monday, Mexican truckers blocked north and southbound lanes on the Mexico side of the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge in Pharr, Texas. They did it to protest Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s decision last week to order state troopers to inspect all northbound commercial trucks

Comments:

This would be fantastic. Please do it Governor Abbott.

Why hasn't Abbott shut down the border? He has said he is building a wall? Where is it? He has said he going to bus them to DC, but none have been. Now we hear 18K a day are coming across the border. Where is Abbott? He talks but no action.

The Republic of Texas approaches. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west. If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.

Abbott loves to wear that big hat, but no one anywhere has ever seen his cattle. He's a Texas governor in a long line of Texas governors. If you want to see one, flip to Youtube and watch Charles Durning's dead-on take in "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"... Now my good friends, it behooves me to be solemn and declare, I'm for goodness and for profit and for living clean and saying daily prayer. And now, my good friends, you can sleep nights, I'll continue to stand tall. You can trust me, for I promise, I shall keep a watchful eye upon ya'll... Okay, Greg...if you say so.

Would be a good thing. Shutting off trade would be a big plus for American companies. IMO, all items moving into the country from outside should be tariffed substantially. Yes, this is against "free trade". SO WHAT? I want Americans to have jobs, not Mexicans or Chinese, and if things wind up costing a bit more, I think that is a worthwhile trade off.

When Elon Musk moved in on a massive amount of Twitter stock shares last week, the shuddering from the leftists in Silicon Valley could be felt across the nation. What will Elon do? Will he try to push towards the shutdown of our virtuous censorship of right-wingers? Will he (gasp) advocate for the allowance of content we don’t like? Musk likely has lofty goals on how he might be able to use his leverage and influence to transform Twitter’s culture. But on Saturday, he illustrated that, at the very least, he’ll continue to be a pain in their collective

The Democrat governor’s office in Pennsylvania colluded with left-wing activists to secure millions of dollars in private money to run get-out-the-vote efforts in blue counties in the swing state in 2020, new, explosive testimony revealed. The Pennsylvania legislature heard this testimony, backed up by email evidence, on Tuesday during the first public hearing on two new bills seeking to block private grants. Tuesday’s public hearing began with statements by the respective primary sponsors of the bills that seek to ban dark money from elections, with Sen. Lisa Baker speaking in support of Senate Bill 982 and Rep. Eric Nelson encouraging passage of House Bill 2044.

The biggest Occupy Wall Street wasn’t anarchic tent encampments, but the new hires entering the corporate suites. Contrary to what many expected, when campus radicals entered the real world, they changed it. And so Wall Street and Big Business have gone woke, with rainbow flags and Black Lives Matter banners and critical race theory as a routine part of employee training. Furthermore, the right-wing expectation that businesses that “go woke, go broke” has fallen flat. A few corporations have taken a hit to the bottom line, but most have found that going woke is just fine for business.

Last week, a Louisiana appellate court reinstated Attorney General Jeff Landry’s lawsuit challenging Mark Zuckerberg’s infiltration of the state election system with private “Zuck Bucks” that flooded the country during the 2020 election. The lawsuit, State of Louisiana v. Center for Tech and Civic Life, originated in October 2020. That’s when Louisiana, through Landry, sought a court order declaring that “private contributions to local election officials and the election system in general are unlawful and contrary to Louisiana law.” Landry’s lawsuit followed attempts by the Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life to dole out millions in targeted grants to election officials throughout the state.

A common trope in popular culture is that if you commit crimes against the weak, particularly children, prison won’t be kind to you. There are many in there who committed all manner of horrific crimes but who, whether because of life experience or their own sense of justice, don’t take kindly to those who abuse children. In fact, “don’t take kindly” is quite an understatement. When it comes to those who, like the ones who many say were given a slap on the wrist by Kentanji Jackson, commit crimes involving child pornography or abusing kids, “prison justice”

The White House said this week it plans to release up to 180 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, a million barrels a day for 180 days, to help bring down near-record gas prices that were climbing before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but have since spiked. It will be the largest release of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve since it was established in the early 1970s, and it probably won’t work. The specific reasons it probably won’t work — congestion on the Gulf Coast, a possible reduction in supply from Saudi Arabia and other oil producers,

Two years ago, far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, established a task force with the assigned mission of examining slavery reparations. From the beginning, it was clear that the outcome from the task force wasn’t going to be if it would recommend reparations, that was a foregone conclusion. The only question was to whom such reparations should be given. On Tuesday, that task force finally made their recommendation, and they may also have given a hint that whatever steps were to be taken would only be the beginning. After a lengthy debate and prior to holding the actual vote, the vice-chair of the task force,

Judicial confirmation hearings are rarely illuminating. Since the introduction of television cameras, they mostly serve as a way for senators to say what they want their constituents to hear and for judicial nominees to say as little as possible. Nothing is learned, at least not on purpose. But occasionally, we learn something by accident. At Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?”

Dungy, a Christian father or eleven, recounted a conversation he had years back with the Rev. Abe Brown about Brown’s prison ministry. At Brown’s request, Dungy accompanied him to prison. Expecting to find hardened criminals, Dungy found instead “19- and 20- and 21-year-old kids who looked like my boys.” When Dungy asked what accounted for the young men’s incarceration, Brown told him, “(snip) Ninety-five percent of these boys did not grow up with their dad.”

Although, after much mockery, the White House has given clarification on the supposed flying mystery substance that many aren’t buying.
