Laurel, Miss.—An umpire is recovering Monday after she was punched in the face following a softball game. Moments after that confrontation, a Laurel mother was arrested and charged with simple assault. Saturday night. Kristie Moore says she was filling in, calling a 12-year-old softball game after one of her umpires got sick. She’s been calling games for 10 years. One of the moms was allegedly cursing so badly during the game that she was asked her to leave. Eventually the coach made the mom leave, but instead of going home, Kiara Thomas allegedly waited for Moore after the game.(Snip) Moore says parents are out of control

Comments:

The person arrested for punching the White woman in the face wears a Mother of the Year T-shirt. Go on, take a guess on what she looks like. The victim says parents are getting worse and worse. Maybe it's time for segregated games again. The Will Smith crowd can behave as they do, attacking one another when mildly provoked, and people who know how to behave themselves can just play the game, shake hands, and go home.

Is a softball game for 12 year olds really worth the arrest record? Sounds like this "mother of the year" takes an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes.

I still remember Little League games on Point Loma (San Diego). It was a religion to some, especially the Portuguese fishermen’s wives from the bay side of the Point. Don’t remember violence, but verbal abuse was loud and frequent.

When i see the mayhem that ensues whenever more than zero black women is out and see them set upon a non-black woman, I would definitely knock her out and not care what anyone thought of me. If i was this woman's boyfriend, husband, casual acquaintence or perfect stranger, I would have knoocked Kiara out Just sayin'

When I was in high school I umpired softball games for CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). Never had anyone scream at me. Of course, this was in the mid-60's. Though one of my girl friends also umpired,( she wasn't a Catholic) and one Saturday we were doing side to side games. During a break she came over and told me one spectator, a woman, was giving her a bad time, I told her to warn the woman if she didn't stop, she'd have to leave. My friend told me she couldn't do that because the woman was a nun. I told her no, you warn her, doesn't matter if she is a nun, she needs to stop yelling at you.

well waddyou know, a black female person, appearing large enough to play middle linebacker for any NFL team is the culprit, not to disparage any black people who might be on this site as commenters, but there is something wrong, very wrong with the attitude of some of our black fellow citizens if punching someone, who appears to be much smaller than them, is the only solution to solving a problem.

Personal experience as a ball player back in the day and as a father of kids who played multiple sports showed me that baseball is the sport most likely to have that crazy mom or dad on the sidelines screaming at their kid or yelling abuse at the other team. (Oh yeah, basketball, football and soccer have them too, but not at the same level of rabidity.) That observation, plus the boringness of the game, is what made me hate it. My take is that as part of the famous trio along with Mom and apple pie, baseball is so familiar to American parents that some of the Has-beens and Never-weres among them think they know the rules better than the coach or ump just because they ate a hot dog at a game once. Okra Wintry here differs only by degree and skin color from all the other parents I've seen go ape-$hit cray-cray at a kids' baseball game.

Say what you will about soccer, but....The yellow card/Red card system works pretty good, and applies to the fans and coaches as well. I have seen an entire Bleacher red carded, the game stopped until everyone in that side of the stands had left the field area. 40 years ago not even the coaches were allowed to yell from the sidelines, the standard was "Coaching is done while training and practicing, NOT during the Games". More than three redcards on a side was a forfeit.

She is one of a group of people who cannot accept living in civilized society. The ones who climb through the take-out windows of fast-food stores and beat up hourly employees because their order was slow or they had to pay for it, the ones who beat up a fast-food employee because the store ran out of French fries, riot in restaurants because the buffet was out of steaks, the ones who set a franchise burger place on fire and burn it to the ground because one of the bros was shot in an altercation with police when he would not put the gun he aimed at the police down. These are just a few facts. A very few.

When you are never told no or never held accountable you believe whatever you decide to do is okay. The culture that produces this kind of behavior is in trouble and no one dares tell them. In a free society it is imperative that respect is shown to everyone. When one segment will not adhere to that standard then you have to cut them loose I don’t care what color they are. A civil society is a polite society. We should bring back shunning.

Another case of a feral yard ape getting out of control and attacking someone of the Caucasian persuasion. Sadly this is becoming commonplace. I saw something similar while shopping at the local Walmart for some tp. It was a Saturday and the place was crowded. An older White lady was maneuvering her cart to avoid hitting another younger White woman who had a fully cart. She succeeded but wound up hitting another woman's cart while coming out of the isle. She calmly sad excuse me and that she was sorry. The large Black woman who had not only a full cart but her 3 small kids in tow was having none of it. She got in the woman's face and called her every name in the book. The FYA looked like she was going to hit the older lady. That's when I had to go get involved but her what was then known as her very tall and burly looking grandson made sure that she was ok. These FYA's need to let known that reckless behavior will not be tolerated.

The White House has quietly resumed its after-dark charter flights of underage migrants to a suburban airport north of New York City—after a Post expose led to their suspension last year. The Post watched as a group of migrant teens got off an Avelo Airlines plane that arrived at the Westchester County Airport near White Plains at 9:25 p.m. Thursday. The group then boarded three waiting buses that drove off about 50 minutes later. One bus traveled to the Walt Whitman Service Area in Cherry Hill, NJ, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. After the bus pulled up at around 12:45 a.m. Friday, several teens disembarked,
