Yield curve ‘inverts,’ stoking fears
of US recession

A key part of the US bond yield curve inverted again on Friday, stoking fears that a recession could be looming as the Federal Reserve steps up a plan to hike interest rates. The two-year US Treasury note yield briefly rose above the benchmark 10-year note yield for the first time since September 2019 — an unusual “inversion” that is viewed by many as a reliable signal that a recession is likely to follow in one to two years. The 10-year note was up 9 basis points at 2.41% while the rate on the 2-year US government bond soared 14 basis points higher to 2.42%.

Forget about the fears. We are past that. We have run off the cliff. There is nothing but space below our feet.

We have been in a recession since Biden took office. The media will never say 'Biden' and 'recession' in the same sentence. Quite the opposite. They will say Biden is leading the country out of a recession caused by Trump.

You can't hope for something that you already have. Nor can you fear something that's already happening.

Recessions are the antidote to inflation. Like so many necessary treatments, the patients don't want to take the medicine. But they don't like the alternative, either. Buck up, America. The mad money party is over...up to $20 TRILLION dumped into a largely non-productive economy over the past three years for stimulus, and the bill's due. That's not all Biden and the Dems, either.

I've been expecting/predicting this for about a year. This is exactly what happens when the Dems do what they have done to our economy. Laws of Economics, still working, regardless of the fools, idiots, charlatans and Marxists that don't believe in them and/or don't understand them. Like the laws of physics, believe or not, you ARE subjected to them, and they are relentless.

Joe Biden Forgets He Was Vice President

Joe Biden is fine. Seriously, don’t even think about suggesting he’s not. There is nothing abnormal or concerning about his mental state, and increasingly, his physical state as well. To even delve into such a discussion is to push wild conspiracy theories, backed by no real-world examples at all. Oh, wait, it’s April 2nd. Sorry, got my days mixed up there. On Saturday morning, the president spoke to members of the US Navy, and in doing so, he not only seemed to forget he was vice president, but he bestowed the title on his wife, Jill Biden. Again, though, he’s totally fine, you guys. Nothing to worry about.

Last month, a group of parents in Orlando, Florida, demanded “consequences” against sixth grade science teacher Robert Thollander. His crime? Thollander acknowledged his marriage at school. “He married a man. This alone is not an issue. Sharing the details … with all his 6th grade students is the issue,” the parents wrote in a letter sent to their children’s school board, which was shared with NBC News. “It was not appropriate. Many of these students felt very uncomfortable with the conversations and shared this with their families.” Had Thollander just “said he will be out for a few days because he was getting married, no problem,” the letter continued

Disney execs may want to consider writing Abigail Disney out of the script. The Disney Corporation has found itself ensnared in a controversy of its own making. For reasons that make sense to only them, the power players in California felt that remaining silent about politics was not the course to take and instead decided to speak out about Florida’s recently passed parental rights law, creating discord in their customer base. Smart play, you executive dolts; you angered your audience. Disney felt like they were on the power side, lashing out at politicians and pulling their funding of candidates. Except, as I pointed out Friday, the voters favor this law,

For the Walt Disney Company, there appear to be limits to how woke they’re willing to be. The company recently announced an end to recorded park greetings to “boys and girls” and “moms and dads” in favor of more “gender-neutral” greetings. But when it comes to chasing the almighty dollar, Disney is just another greedy, capitalistic, exploitive business uninterested in gender-neutral anything. The company still offers its “princess packages” for hotel occupancy, park admissions, and other add-ons to please all the non-woke parents who still want to visit the park. Fox Business: According to its website, Disney is still touting the “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique” experience that dresses kids up
California corporate diversity law ruled unconstitutional 5 replies

Los Angeles - A Los Angeles judge ruled Friday that California’s landmark law mandating that corporations diversify their boards with members from certain racial, ethnic or LGBT groups is unconstitutional. The brief ruling granted summary judgment to Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group that sought a permanent injunction against the measure that was signed into law last year. The ruling didn't explain the judge's reasoning. The measure requires corporate boards of publicly traded companies with a main executive office in California to have a member from an "underrepresented community," including LGBT, Black, Latino, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander. The lawsuit argued that violated the state’s constitutional equal protection clause.

Ukraine has recaptured more territory around Kyiv as Russian forces leave the area. In some instances, Russian troops are abandoning their positions in an orderly fashion, and Ukrainian forces are largely letting them leave. But Reuters reports that there’s a trail of smashed tanks and dead bodies that marks Russia’s retreat from the outskirts of Kyiv, attesting to some fierce battles that took place in the last several days. Ukraine recaptured more territory around Kyiv from Russian soldiers who left shattered villages and their own abandoned tanks as they moved away from the capital, while a disputed cross-border strike in Russia complicated peace talks on Friday.

A Staten Island judge on Friday struck down New York City's mask mandate for toddlers, calling it "arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable" and issuing a permanent injunction against it. Mayor Eric Adams said the city would appeal and seek a stay of Judge Ralph Porzio's ruling. Health Commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan said the city was not recommending that young kids ages 2-4 stop masking yet, and he sounded a broader note of caution too. "Cases are definitively rising and it's gotten our attention," he said. "They will continue to rise over the next few weeks, and it's likely that over these weeks, we will move

Just when you thought the Hunter Biden scandals had died in darkness, The Washington Post published more than 6,300 words on the last day of March admitting that a notable fraction of Hunter’s laptop contents were authentic. Why now? Why not last year? Why did liberal outlets act like everyone expressing concern about Hunter was a Trump-adoring kook? We reported at NewsBusters that the broadcast network morning and evening newscasts went 260 days without mentioning Hunter Biden (and it was more like 11 months of silence at ABC). These were the same networks that frantically obsessed over one brief and failed meeting Donald Trump Jr. hosted in Trump Tower in 2016

Back in 1967, the Reedy Creek Improvement District agreement was created to lure Disney to Florida. The agreement allows the district governmental powers to facilitate recreational projects and tourism. Florida's legislature felt that it would benefit the state if recreational organizations had the power to act as their own government in areas like property development, water control, public utilities, law enforcement, and fire protection. The mouse eagerly took the cheese, and today most of the land is owned by Walt Disney World. It's been a pretty sweet deal (snip) Now Florida legislators are threatening to pull those special privileges if Disney continues to strike at HB1557

Detroit—New vehicles sold in the U.S. will have to average at least 40 miles per gallon of gasoline in 2026, up from about 28 mpg, under new federal rules unveiled Friday that undo a rollback of standards enacted under President Donald Trump. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said its new fuel economy requirements are the strongest to date and the maximum the industry can achieve over the time period. They will reduce gasoline consumption by more than 220 billion gallons over the life of vehicles, compared with the Trump standards. They're expected to decrease carbon dioxide emissions—but not as much as some environmentalists want—and raise new vehicle prices

Back in 1967 when Disney World was just a gleam in Mickey’s eye and states around the country were vying for Walt Disney’s approval to build his second theme park, the Florida legislature passed the Reedy Creek Improvement Act, which gave the Walt Disney Company a special carve-out, making it a self-governing enclave. The Act gave Disney “the ability, the power to build a nuclear power plant, an airport manufacturer, distill and distribute alcoholic beverages and lots of other things,” said Dr. Richard Foglesong, author of Married to the Mouse in an interview with a Florida TV station last year.

Open borders advocates – including those who serve in the Biden administration and on Capitol Hill – have been demanding that President Biden end Title 42 since the day he took office during a full-blown pandemic. Title 42 is a public health provision that was invoked by the Trump administration in 2020 at the onset of the COVID pandemic, allowing for the expedited removal of people crossing our borders illegally. While it is impossible to quantify a negative, it is reasonable to assume that preventing significant numbers of people traveling in large groups and coming from countries where
