Liberals, Conservatives, and Russia: The
Drama Triangle

Original Article

With friends like liberal media, who needs enemies? Their virtue signaling and political spin over Ukraine is so revolting that if I didn't know better, I'd turn against Ukraine like so many conservative commentators already have. But having lived in both Russia and Ukraine, I know better. Just as revolting is seeing previously trusted conservative sites and TV hosts defending Russia and tarring Ukraine. [SNIP] Reading Russian and Ukrainian sources in the original, I know exactly who in this war is spinning lies and who is fighting for truth and freedom.

Bravo! The most significant domestic consequence of of the propaganda wars has been the exposure of multiple "conservatives" and their "news" as either useful idiots fully committed to Russian propaganda or closet fascists fully committed to supremecist narratives centered around "blood and soil". They only discredit themselves.

Interesting psychological take on this. But I find interesting too that he explains he reads original source material in Russian and Ukrainian....but doesn't share any specific important quotes, nor refer us to reliable translations elsewhere. I wonder if trust...but verify applies here?

Not even complicated. Trump four years of Peace and getting along with others. Biden's cadre's total opposite. Simple EZ stuff. Right Vern? Vern says not complicated nor too difficult to figure out!

Frankly Scarlett, I’m not rightly sure who to believe on anything anymore. Think I’ll have another Bud and go watch an old John Wayne movie from back in the day when things were more or less normal.

I didn’t see any examples of what the writer was talking about in the article, nor have any commentators i read and watch said anything that could be remotely described as ‘watching a rape video and making fun of the victim’s screams.’ So this article leaves me skeptical of the writer. I have read articles that make me wonder what US policy really is regarding Russia. And I remember the US response when Russia wanted to put weapons in Cuba. I do believe that the victims of this war are cannon fodder in some strategy. And i do believe that bidet’s strategy of stating every day that ‘Putin is invading tomorrow, you don’t need blood unless you’re invading’ was nutty and obviously ineffective and that he should have negotiated for the invasion not to happen- instead of being a hapless clown on the world stage.

The propogandists have quite successfully framed the political discourse as between competing versions of the same big government socialists. The existence of principled constitutionally grounded small government individual liberty support has been squeezed out of the narrative. It's as if we and our country never existed.

FTA: I'll be the first to point out that Biden and the rest of the Obama team had turned Ukraine into a feeding trough with their corrupt schemes. I don't care one whit about the Ukrainian government, especially Zelensky, who is some altar boy. Yes, I know he's Jewish. I feel vary bad for the Ukrainian people and their pets.

We wouldn't be witnessing this if Trump were in the White House. This a Biden effect. Putin pulled the trigger and never thought of negotiations so he's now a clown. I would stay clear of the horrible event I don't support Russian Soviets but this is not our war leave out the emotions along with heart tugging fake news there's plenty of propaganda from both sides including the posing Winston Churchill Zelenski. Not my war or our war.

FTA: "Reading Russian and Ukrainian sources in the original, I know exactly who in this war is spinning lies and who is fighting for truth and freedom." When reading various opinion pieces on this subject, and when I see this within one, I know exactly the same, Oleg. Any columns on COVIDS, vaccinations, mask mandates or social distancing? Thanks for your reassurances...

Because the angry debate about Whoopi Goldberg's statements is focused on the definition of racism and its role in the Holocaust, perhaps the views of Adolf Hitler (1889–1945) himself will be of interest. In one of his last statements on Judaism (3 February 1945), Hitler told Martin Bormann [snip] The Jewish race is most of all a spiritual community. ... For several years until only recently, I resided in the great city of London. It was all part of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) biowarfare plan against the United States. The design of COVID-19 was based on a number of bioweapon features, in particular, highly contagious, low lethality, and a high rate of asymptomatic transmission. Another important feature of a PLA bioweapon, not mentioned on that list, is disguising its origin. That is, the capability of avoiding responsibility for a biowarfare attack by designing a virus that could be blamed on a natural outbreak.
The Damnatio Memoriae of Donald Trump 8 replies

Back in my high school English classes, we were treated to one Shakespearean play each year and were required to commit to memory a soliloquy from each. Sophomore year, the play was Julius Caesar, so as to coincide with our Latin course which had us translate Caesar’s De Bello Gallico. Marc Antony’s panegyric for Caesar sprung to mind as one after another former friend and supporter of President Donald Trump flipped sides, essentially engaging in a favorite ancient Roman exercise of damnatio memoriae (the damnation or cancellation of the memory of someone).

While Joe Biden doesn’t do much in the way of solving any problems, I do have to say that he’s certainly is active — along with his administration — in spreading propaganda and the Democratic narrative on a variety of issues. We saw how his White House reached out to “brief” about 30 TikTok “influencers” on the Russian war against Ukraine. We later saw the result of that “briefing”, which was about selling why it was Vladimir Putin’s fault that the gas prices were going up, not Joe Biden. On Monday, according to the White House, Biden met with “16 CEOs of major companies across several industries

Tens of thousands of students at the City University of New York have signed a petition to cancel an opera about Emmett Till, the victim of a high-profile 1955 lynching in Mississippi, saying that the school should no longer host the show because it was written by a white woman. John Jay College of Criminal Justice student Mya Bishop created the Change.org petition in an attempt to halt the continuation of 'Emmett Till, A New American Opera' at the school's Gerald W. Lynch Theatre. In the petition's description, she wrote that the show is all about playwright Clare Coss' 'white guilt' rather than the appalling killing of Till, 14,

A Boeing 737-800 passenger jet operated by China Eastern Airlines has crashed in rural China, presumably killing all 132 souls aboard. Video of the plane nosediving into the ground and the aftermath has emerged. As is expected with any video of this kind, viewer discretion is advised. Much is unknown at this point, but I am a commercial multi-engine pilot and a flight instructor so I can add a few points of speculation to ponder. According to the flight data available, the rapid descent started at around 30,000 feet. That would point to either a structural failure that caused a loss of flight controls or a high-altitude stall

A Colorado school district has infuriated parents after announcing plans to ax valedictorian prizes in what they have branded the latest 'equity'-obsessed focus on mediocrity over excellence. 'The practices of class rank and valedictorian status are outdated and inconsistent with what we know and believe of our students,' Cherry Creek School District staffers said in a statement to families last Monday declaring the change.'We believe all students can learn at high levels, and learning is not a competition,' the letter, first reported by KDVR, asserted.

A former Google employee filed a class-action lawsuit in a San Jose, California, federal court Friday alleging systemic bias against black employees and a corporate culture preferring white males, Reuters reported. The lawsuit, filed by April Curley, says Google places black employees in lower-level jobs, pays them less, and denies them opportunities to grow at the company, Reuters reported. Specifically, Curley states black people make up only 4.4% of employees and about 3% of leadership, according to Reuters. Curley also said Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, required black people to show identification or else face questioning at the Mountain View, California campus, Reuters reported.
