A top Senate Republican is seeking to delay Eric Garcetti’s nomination to serve as President Joe Biden’s ambassador to India, pending an investigation into whether the mayor of Los Angeles lied when he told a congressional panel he was unaware of sexual harassment and assault allegations against his closest adviser. Investigators in Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-Iowa) office are probing what Garcetti knew of longtime political adviser and City Hall confidant Rick Jacobs’ inappropriate behavior toward women and men in and around City Hall. They have also spoken to whistleblowers about the matter. And according to a document obtained by POLITICO, they have asked Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to try

Comments:

Finally! Eric Garcetti’s incompetence had many facets. He was a terrible mayor and apparently could not let a loyal aide go, no matter what the evidence. He shouldn’t be ambassador to anywhere...

I would say that shipping Gridlock Garcetti off to India would be doing Los Angeles a favor, except that they will just replace him with another incompetent, corrupt leftist. LA has an endless supply of them.

Please provide a list of anything Grassley has gotten accomplished. I think Grassley is in the bottom 20%, and it is time for a replacement.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey on Thursday signed a constitutional carry bill into law that allows permitless concealed carry in the Yellowhammer State. Alabama House Bill 272, also known as the Constitutional Carry Bill, eliminates certain restrictions on concealed carry of pistols and transporting a handgun in a private vehicle. The bill also established a $5 million fund to offset the revenue loss of local governments. The bill was sponsored by state Rep. Shane Stringer and cosponsored by 36 other Republicans in the state House. The new law will go into effect on Jan. 1 when Alabama will become the 22nd constitutional carry state.

After receiving her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Li Jun’s 4-year-old developed a fever and coughs, which quickly subsided after intravenous therapy at the hospital. But after the second shot, the father could tell something was wrong. Swelling appeared around his daughter’s eyes and did not go away. For weeks, the girl complained about pains on her legs, where bruises started to emerge seemingly out of nowhere. In January, a few weeks after the second dose, the 4-year-old was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. “My baby was perfectly healthy before the vaccine dose,” Li (an alias), from China’s north-central Gansu Province, told The Epoch Times.

United Airlines plans to let workers who declined to get a COVID-19 vaccine return to work, according to a missive obtained by The Epoch Times. Unvaccinated employees can return to their positions on March 28, according to the memorandum, which was sent to workers on Thursday morning. Kirk Limacher, vice president of human resources at United, said the change was due to the plunge in COVID-19 cases and COVID-19-related hospitalizations across the country in recent weeks. Many states and cities are lifting COVID-19 restrictions, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention dramatically eased its masking guidance, he noted.

While he received an initial outpouring of support, including from Vice President Kamala Harris, it quickly became apparent that his story wasn’t adding up. The flu shot used during the 2021 to 2022 virus season was a poor match and did little to prevent circulation, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report finds. Researchers found that the vaccine only reduced the number of mild influenza by 16 percent, which they do not consider statistically significant. The flu strain that struck America this year was of the H3N2 strain, one of the more dangerous versions of the virus, and the shot was not tailored to the specific version of the virus that ended up emerging. Experts had warned of a brutal flu season this year for months leading up to it,

There is an additional feature of that poll that deserves notice, as highlighted in the Journal’s article about it: The survey also found Republicans making gains among minority groups. The two parties had been tied among Hispanic voters in the Journal’s survey in November. Democratic margins also eroded among Black voters, who favored a Democrat for Congress by 35 percentage points in the new survey, down from 56 points in November.
