Russian Orthodox Church leader: Ukraine

The leader of the Russian Orthodox Church said his country’s invasion of Ukraine was a divine mission in opposition to gay rights. According to a Monday report in the Moscow Times, Patriarch Kirill backed Russia’s “military operation” in Ukraine and called it a conflict over “which side of God humanity will be on.” He drew attention to Ukraine‘s gay-pride parades and pro-LGBT laws, and called them a “loyalty test” and an example of Ukraine’s attempting to refashion itself in the cultural image of NATO nations. “Pride parades are designed to demonstrate that sin is one variation of human behavior. If a Christian church supports and endorses homosexuality they are not a Christian church.

Is acceptance of homosexuality a form of rebellion against God? Is it equivalent to Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit? Because acceptance of homosexuality has led directly to greater calls for acceptance of even more bizarre sexual perversions that are forbidden to Christians. God will not be mocked.

It may well be just Russian propaganda but I certainly understand rejecting the western world's highest moral virtue of LGBT+ pride ( rejecting that is something we are no longer allowed to do in the so called free world).

Jesus inn the new testament does preach Love . But God in the old testament destroyed Sodom. I doubt that Russia went to war because Ukraine started accepting Homosexuality, but he is right about the foibles of humans accepting perversion.

It might be a valid argument if that was the stated purpose for the invasion. Its not, and we all know it. This is a so called religious leader looking to justify the slaughter of the innocents. Comparable excuses were used to justify the extermination of 6 million Jews. Excuses still used today. The reasons for the war are many and the fault lies with many. Gays isnt one of them.

Well as a conservative Catholic whose view of sex is exactly that of the Pope and the Pope before him and the one before that back to the year 33, I would invite the Patriarch to explain why he has not chided the Russian leadership for adultery? And more important than the sixth commandment being the fifth, Thou Shalt Not Kill? which in all system applies to children of your cousins. Then let's be fancy and go on down to the eighth, not slandering your brother, which the Russian Government has agencies dedicated to doing. And would invite the Patriarch to consider whether he loves Russia more than God, and whether Putin knows that would be a wrong thing to do, and if not, whose job was it to tell him?

Those EVs Joe Biden and Democrats promise will transform the climate? That EV you drive and think you’re saving the planet with?
