Biden promotes coffee machine tax credit
in flub-filled speech

President Biden tried to generate some buzz for Democrats Saturday by making a head-scratching claim about tax credits for coffee machines during a flub-filled speech in Portland, Ore. Two days after new data showed consumer prices continuing to surge, Biden resolutely ignored the topic of inflation in a speech billed as “Remarks on Lowering Costs for American Families”—focusing instead on benefits tucked into his monster spending bill. “The Inflation Reduction Act has to do with your ability to get tax credits for buying—if you need a new coffee machine, a new washer, a new refrigerator,” Biden said.(Snip)Earlier in the speech, Biden appeared to blank

The feds fight inflation by printing and spending massive amounts of money as quickly as they can, and then giving small tax rebates to people who spend money. Only an economic mind the caliber of AOC or Janet Yellen might envision how that would work.

What is a more energy efficient coffee machine? One that only heats the water a little? Yuck!

Since most brewed coffee is the "leaded" variety--I never bought decaf, even once--Brandon is probably referring to a federally approved model of percolator fitted with a catalytic converter. I'm sure the coffee, stripped of its substance, will taste rather thin. Archer Daniels Midland will try to find a way to have it mandated in the seasonal gasoline mix. They love putting adulterants into our fuel.

Those EVs Joe Biden and Democrats promise will transform the climate? That EV you drive and think you’re saving the planet with? They don’t get their power out of thin air; in fact, they draw heavily on burning coal in huge plants to charge up the lithium batteries. In other words, electric vehicles need fossil fuels.
